WEDNESDAY, JUNE 30, 2021;

The above picture looks like the squirrel who checks out the bird feeders and finds them totally empty!

Partly sunny, 89 degrees, no breeze, 5:52 p.m. All is quiet so birds, bees, squirrels, chipmunk and dogs napping!

The last day of June, 2021. It is the 181st day of the year. There are 184 days remaining of 2021. Time flies! In four days we will be celebrating the 4th of July with fireworks and picnics; with beach parties, and pool parties; with BBq’s and ice cream socials. Friends and families gathering to celebrate our great nation.

But before all the celebrating, the normal life goes on. Summer school for the kids, work for the parents, gardens to weed and water, livestock to care for, dogs to walk and the normal daily routine that is so important for each of us. At our home it is keeping up with the two cats who set their own daily schedule and work hard at not keeping it routine. The loud bang we heard last evening, while watching TV, was the two of them upstairs, playing in the guest room. One of them jumped up on the Armour, knocking everything off the top, onto the floor. One thing was a butterfly dish that held earring backs. So fun to pick up. Of course they both looked innocent. They keep us on our toes and have taught us to keep things picked up and put away. Most of the time it works.

Have a wonderful rest of your day. Make it a productive, cheerful, gratifying, kind, giving, and blessed day.

Through the forest in a winding road in East Tennessee.

Tuesday, June 20, 2021, 5:55 p.m., cloudy, windy, 86 degrees. a thunder storm is working its’ way in.

A very summer day. It is warm, to hot, cloudy to sunny to cloudy, still to breezy to windy, a rumble of thunder in the distance to a rumble of thunder moving closer. Yes, it is summer in East Tennessee.

The day has been a busy one with hanging pictures in the stairwell, doing laundry, playing with the cats, and writing letters and making cards. I am behind on the letter writing and so need to buckle down and get with it, Less time watching the birds and squirrels and bees in the cedar tree and more time on the letter writing and card making. I do have help in the form of Sierra and Milo who think their paws are needed to type and print and shred. Their help would be most appreciated if they would learn to shred only papers that need to be shredded, learn where to put their paws on the keyboard and not to take the papers off the printer until the printing is done. But, I think that is going to be awhile as neither of them are good students.

The kids across the street are out playing ball so I guess the storm isn’t going to visit us here. They are playing baseball and having fun. I think more goofing off then actual playing. It looks like a fun time. their dogs are joining in on the fun. Here the school bus picks the kids up for summer school, and brings them home. I see them catch the bus in the morning and return in the afternoon. The evenings are for playing outdoors.

Have a great rest of you day. Make it prosperous, pleasant, productive, cheerful, fun and blessed.

MONDAY AFTERNOON

Monday afternoon, June 28, 2021 5:55 p.m. 93 degrees and a bit muggy! Yes, it is summer here also.

The above picture is of the”Bird Condo Tree” as there are four or more families of birds that live in that tree. And the squirrels visit as does the chipmunk so it is a very busy and important tree here. They make very good neighbors.

Another busy and very warm day here in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. We got our running around done early this morning, well, things don’t open up here real early so it was 8:30 before we left the house and were back by 10:00 a.m. Not bad for us. Now it is mostly cloudy and very still. All the birds and animals are enjoying their siestas so even the cats are hiding someplace snoozing away.

Saturday Jerry, Tammy and her dad came over and replaced our dining room chandelier and the light above the kitchen sink. Then switched the kitchen light and the stair entrance light so now we are happy campers. It is so nice to be able to have a good light over the sink so we can see what we are doing. And the kitchen light wasn’t as bright as the entrance light so by switching them our kitchen is light and bright and very easy to work in. The stair entrance light is perfect for lighting the area to the stairs and some of the surrounding area. The chandelier is a lovely brushed nickel orb with three lights that are bright enough for in there. It makes the room seem bigger and much more cheerful. The next project is working on the carpets and getting stains out that have been there for eons. Now to go watch the news.

Have a great rest of your Monday. Make it a Cool, Happy, Safe, Productive and blessed day

THURSDAY, JUNE 24, 2021, 4:53 P.M.

A partly cloudy Thursday afternoon, a very slight breeze, with a temperature of 86 degrees. A nice day!

The above picture is of Milo and Sierra on the bed. Sierra is napping with one eye open, watching to see what Milo is going to do next. Milo hears me coming so is watching to see what I am going to do, being prepared to move quickly should the need arise. They both love laying on freshly washed and folded clothes, waiting to be hung up or put away. And since the drawer is open, if he is quick enough, he can crawl in and have a nice place to take a nap. He doesn’t miss a chance.

This afternoon my friend Dottie and I went to the Senior Center and played BINGO. It was fun and the center is very nice. There is a large room with 4 big pool tables, and a couple of men playing pool. The room we were in was large with probably 8 to 10 tables with two people at each table. They are still keeping people apart and only scheduling so many at each activity. They have Bingo on Thursdays, as well as Mahjong and Energizing Exercises. Mondays they have Exercise and Pinochle. On Tuesdays there is Energizing Exerciser and Bridge. Wednesdays is woodcarving, Exercise and Bridge and Fridays is Guitar Practice and open crafts. They are just starting to get things going again and back to normal, whatever that is. There is no charge but do accept donations. At Bongo, the winners get a gift bag. I didn’t win so have no idea what is in the gift bags.

I do hope that your Thursday was as fun and interesting as mine. Have a great rest of your day. Keep it happy, productive, safe, healthy, fun, positive and blessed.
