Wednesday, January 31, 2024 Cloudy Cold Damp 45 Degrees 5:01 p.m.

Today is Hump Day. It is the 31st day of the New Year, leaving 335 day to do all the things we want to do, plan to do, and have to do. This gives us plenty of time to do our Christmas shopping, plan our vacations, take weekend site seeing trips, make crafts for holidays, gifts and/or home needs. We’ll all have time to take classes in what ever subject interests us, and even find time to take naps, read book,s watch our favorite TV shows, take in movies, and do what ever else that is unplanned and unexpected.

Here, we are still at least 5 days out from having the TV room, back bathroom and craft room completed. I am thinking the month of February will be getting those rooms back together. Since I am the one who packed up most everything, put it all away so it wouldn’t get lost or broken, and made room for everything, I will most likely be the one who has to go treasure hunting and find everything. Maybe I should have a Treasure Hunting Party and invite others to fine everything. Of course, if I did that I would have to know what treasurers they were hunting. Both Tina and I will have to play that game, Keep, Give, Sell, Toss. I doubt the sell category would hold many items. Maybe I should add shred to that list.

February is promising to be a busy month. So far there are three birthdays and one anniversary, all family members. Tina and I each have a doctor’s appointment that I know of so far. I have two to reschedule due to bad weather. I am not sure what else is going on in the month of February. We have Ash Wednesday and Valentine’s Day and Presidents Day. We shall see what the rest of the month brings.

Quote of the day: ” [Astronomical] observations…..are peculiarly adapted to women….The eye that directs a needle in the delicate meshes of embroidery will equally well bisect a star with the spider web of the micrometer.” Maria Mitchell, 1818-1889, American Astronomer, educator.

Have a great rest of your Wednesday. Make it a enchanting, magical, star studded and fun day.

Tuesday, January 30, 2024 Cloudy Chilly Still Rain expected 49 Degrees 5:14 [.m.

We did have sun for a bit this morning. The clouds slowly moved in and the sun moved out. Now we will have rain for the evening and maybe into the morning. Yes, it is still winter. I dislike the damp cold as it seems to settle int the bones and it takes for ever to get warm.

It has been a quiet day around here. I have gotten a few things done, and have a million more to do once I can get moved back into the craft room. I am going through boxes of stuff. I can’t believe all the stuff i have kept through the years. Even old adds. But some of the stuff has been interesting to read and think back on. I love finding the kids school work and pictures that they drew when they were little. So many letters and greeting cards, all fun and interesting. I have kept the shredder busy and filled the wastepaper basket a couple of times. Probably will several more times. I really don’t need the TV guide from 1989.

Quote of the day: ” Action is indeed the medium of expression for ethics.” Jane Addams, 1860 – 1935, American Social Reformer. Nobel Prize Winner. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people. Galatians 6:10 NIV

Have a great rest of your Taco Day. Make it a happy, educational, interesting and fun day.

Monday, January 29, 2024 Cloudy, Cold, Damp, 46 Degrees 4:17 p.m.

Winter is still here. It is cold, and damp. However, it is winter and we should have this type of weather. We had to go shopping yesterday afternoon. It reminded me of shopping in Reno when I was a kid, in winter. The wind was freezing cold.

Friday evening, Mark and his co-worker came and installed the new flooring. It is so pretty. He will be back tomorrow to put in the shoe molding. He has a couple of other things he has to complete, and then it will be done. Dillon has to come back Saturday or Sunday to straighten a wall and finish installing the book shelves.. After that is completed we can move back in those rooms and hopefully, get back to normal.

Sierra is so please that the floor is in and the recliners are back there, and the TV. She can, once again, enjoy her evenings in either Tina’s or my lap. She has walked over every inch of the floor, then rolled on it and stretched out, taken a nap and is just happy to have the room back. She thinks it is one of her rooms.

Now, since things are still not in place, nor even close, I have to finish the project in the living room. I am looking for something to put behind the sectional so that we can walk behind it to open and close the blinds. I think I have a table upstairs that will work. Not to big, but I hope will be just the right size to give us room to walk behind and take care of the blinds.

Quote of the day: “We live in the present, we dream of the future, but we learn eternal truths from the past.” Lucy Maud Montgomery, 1874 – 1942, Canadian Writer

I hope you had a great weekend. Make your Monday a adventurous, productive, pleasant, and fun day.

Thursday, January 25, 2024 Cloudy Foggy Damp Rainy 60 Degrees 4:54 p.m.

I know that the temperature is 60 degrees, but it is very chilly in here. I went through the “0” weather with the furnace set on 68 day and night and wasn’t cold. Now that the Arctic Air has moved to another ocean and the warmer gulf air has moved in, it is cold. I think I am missing the rays of the sun to warm the house and me up.

The rain has started up again and I hear thunder so the predicted rain in earnest has returned. We are under flood warnings and wind warnings, but the wind might be for higher elevations. Bill, next door, is worried about the branch of his cedar tree that has been hanging low for a couple of years. He has called some one to come and cut it off but so far no one has showed up. The ground is so soaked that I hope and pray none of these big trees come tumbling down.

The floor people will be here in the morning to lay the new floor. I am so eager to get the new flooring in and get things back where they belong. It has been a long three months. But, it will so nice when it is all completed.

Quote of the day:” Whatever my individual desires were to be free, I wasn’t alone. There were many others who felt the same way.” Rosa Parks, 1913 – 2005. American Civil Rights Activist.

Have a great rest of your Thursday. Make it a cheerful, productive, dry and fun day.
