HAPPY HALLOWEEN

HAPPY NEVADA DAY

A chilly, fall day. The morning was cloudy and very cool. This afternoon the sun came out and it got a bit warmer. Now we are looking forward to a freeze tonight. The temperature is to drop in somewhere between 28 and 30 degrees. A brisk evening for the Trick or Treaters. How sad to have to cover all those cute costumes with a coat.

It has been a quiet day for which I am thankful for. I woke up at 3:30 A.M. and couldn’t go back to sleep. So have been tired most of the day. Now I am working on covering the plants outside and unhooking the hose, draining it and covering the spicket. I think I have turned the water off to it in the house as we have a turn off place in the wall behind the outdoor spicket so hope it works. I can’t get the cover back on so am not sure. It is weird. But, I will try and make sure none of the pipes freeze.

I think we are ready for the trick and treaters. We have bagged 30 snack bags and have them handy by the door. The porch light will be on and a candle in the pumpkin to say Happy Halloween. I will have my Halloween vest on. My mask is permanent.

Quote of the day: :Men don’t really loose their hair…..It just goes underground and comes out their ears!” My calendar

Have a great rest of your Tuesday. Enjoy Halloween and all the cute trick or treaters. Enjoy Nevada Day! It is the states 159th birthday of being the 36th state in the United States of America.

Monday, October 30, 2023 Cloudy Raining Chilly Still 52 Degrees 3: 33 p.m.

Sitting at my “Window on Main Street” I have the pretties view of trees turning orange, red, and yellow. They are simply breathtaking. The wind picks up for a bit and the leaves fall and blow. The lawn across the street is blanketed with leaves. It is really pretty. So far we have some but nothing like what they have. The wind can change that in a minute should it start blowing everything our way. The leaves on the dogwood tree are a magenta colored. Very pretty. Fall, here in East Tennessee is awesome.

We had a quiet weekend for the most part. Saturday we had a company come out and give us an estimate on windows for upstairs. That was interesting and we like the windows as well as his presentation and the price. So, we shall see. We know that they are needed as what is there isn’t working very well.

Sunday was quiet, Did church with Charles Stanley, Tina went to X-finity and took back the box that doesn’t work and got a new one. We will wait for Jerry to come over and install it. So far we have knocked a board down on all the wires back of the TV and not nothing moves. We are so handy.

Tina made Taco Stew for dinner yesterday and we have enough for another meal, so that is nice. It is good and since it is much cooler this evening we might have it for dinner tonight. That , a salad and cornbread muffins. Or else we can have Spanish rice, salad and a veggie. I am thinking that one night we will have ham ans scalloped potatoes. Winter comfy foods sound good to me right now. Our high yesterday was 79 and today it was 65 and that was at 5:00 this morning.

Have a great rest of your Monday. Make it a perfect, adventurous, productive, economical and fun day.

Oh, you might want to make sure you are well supplied with candy for all the trick or treaters. We seem to have several children in the neighborhood now. Happy pre spook day!

Friday, October 27, 2023 Partly Sunny Warm Breezy 77 Degrees 5:06 p.m.

Yesterday was a buys day. Company in the morning, then Tina called and said that she had to go to the retina specialist because her right eye was feeling like it was going to explode. She wanted me to go with her in case he had to do the lasar and she would need me to drive home. So there went the afternoon.

Jerry came over and got my new cell phone loaded with all the apps that I need. I now, once again, have Facebook, Wordle, Blink and everything that I need. It sure helps. I didn’t quite make it through Wordle last night but will do better tonight, I hope.

The doctor told Tina that at this time she didn’t need laser or shots in her eye, that it was swollen as two new blood vessels were trying to grow there. Since that eye isn’t working, they aren’t supposed to grow there. He gave her eye drops two help the swelling go down. She is better today.

I have cleaned house. Dillon came over and fixed the screen in the guest room window so we can open the window. I hope he can fix the one n my room also. He will be back on the 6th to finish my house repair short list. Short meaning the odd little things that we need done. The weather stripping under the back glass screen door and an inch off the hall bathroom door as it touches the floor., Just little things.

The weekend looks to be quiet so hope to get some odds and ends done around the house. My closet cleaned out, Christmas stuff gathered as it seems to be everywhere except where it belongs. I guess we have some fall stuff packed with the Christmas stuff and Christmas stuff that didn’t make it with the majority of the decorations stuck here and there. We want to take a ride and take pictures of all the fall colors as the trees are getting so pretty and colorful. That is the plans anyhow.

Have a great rest of your Friday and a super, safe, adventurous, energetic, and fun weekend.

Wednesday, October 25, 2023 Sunny Breezy Cool 75 degrees 2:07 p.m.

I had every intention of doing my blog first thing in the morning. Then, as I was reminded by my Reno daughter-in-law, that people on the west coast are still in bed sleeping at that hour, so will wait and do it a bit later. I forget some people have their e-mail on their phones and their phones right by the bed. I am sorry if I woke anyone.

Today has been a quiet day so far. Sierra was very nice and gave me a hairball during the night, on my bed of course. So this morning I was washing bedding. She only got it on the foot end of the blanket, but I washed both blankets and the throw so all is clean on my bed now.

I have been outside and it is nice and warm out there. In here, it is cool. I have the heater set at 70 degrees and it feels more like 60. We get very little sun this time of year, and being the middle Town Home, we don’t have a lot of windows. The rest of this week is supposed to be warm, then next week it is to be cooler, like in the low 60’s for the high. The heater will go up a dab, I do believe. Or else I will do a lot of cleaning to keep warm.

There is so much going on around this state that it is hard to make up one’s mind which event to attend, or craft show to attend, or whatever. I think we will stay home and do some things that need to be done around here this weekend. There is a big Craft show in Marysville this weekend but I am in hopes that the flooring came in and we can get the floors done, so will plan on staying home for that if for no other reason. The strikes are sure causing havoc all over the place.

Quote of the day: ” Getting a husband is like buying an old house. You don’t see it the way it is but the way it’s going to be when you get it remodeled.” My Calendar. Hmm, I never looked at it that way, but then, I got married 65 years ago. Things have changed in that length of time.

Have a great rest of your Monday. Make it a productive, adventurous, exciting, safe and fun day.
