THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 30, 2021

Thursday, September 30, 2021 partly cloudy Slight breeze 82 degrees 5:43 p.m.

It is warm and fairly still and nice outdoors today. Tina and I have been busy working on the house, doing laundry and getting the upstairs pretty much back in order. The bathroom is mostly done but Guy has to come back in the morning and fix one spot under the sink, remove the old closet doors and that should wrap it up. then I can totally move into that bathroom and call it “home”. I have a couple of more things to get to ad to the shower but not much really. I am so excited to have it all upstairs.

Here at the house it has been an exciting afternoon. We have had a ladder truck, 2 fire trucks, the supply truck and the fire chief, 3 police cars and an ambulance up the street from us. Since we saw no flames and smelt no smoke, we aren’t sure just what the problem was/is up there. There is still 2 fire trucks and the supply truck and the fire chief and a couple of police cars there. We don’t know what the problem is but it has to be something significant. I, right now, miss my scanner.

The IRS, as far as I can find out, is still part of the United States Government. According to one source, when Obama was president, he declared the IRS as being its’ own amity as it wasn’t made part of the government. So now there are people who are trying to make that stick and messing with peoples income tax and saying that they haven’t paid, owe back taxes, etc. It appears to be a mess. And of course now they are discussing the closing down the government and if so no one gets their SS checks, etc. What A mess our politics are.

I will probably not be doing the blog until Monday as I have appointments tomorrow. They seem to take all day long as we sort of get sidetracked after the appointment, like shopping and goofing off.

The question of the day is: Who was the 21 president of the United States?

Feel free to send me answers, ideas, opinions. Would love to hear from you.

Have a great rest of your Thursday and a wonderful, safe, healthy, fun and pleasant Weekend.

Blessings

THE BRITISH DIRIGIBLE R-34 CROSSED FROM SCOTLAND TO LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK JULY 2-6, 1919, IN 108 HOURS

Tuesday, September 28, 2021 Sunny, Calm, Beautiful Fall Day, 81 degrees 4:38 p.m.

Can you imagine how excited the people on the ground were watching that big balloon (air ship) take off and land in both New York and England? That would of been the excitement of the year I am sure.

Well, the finishing touches are being put on the bathroom today. I am so eager to see it completed and be able to call it usable and mine. It looks so nice and clean and pristine right now, but there is still a few minor details that they are finishing up. I am sure that by tonight it will be done, but if not, tomorrow for sure.

Tina signed us both up for Life Line Health screening services so we spent the morning doing that. Of course, it was fasting, so by the time we got out of that we were starving. It was brunch at I-Hop, and a BLT as it was one p.m. We are both doing well, but need to see our primary care doctor to check the arteries. I have an appointment tomorrow so not a problem there.

There were several people there, mostly retired and very interesting to visit with. The discussion was the mask mandate that Governor Lee put into place again last Friday. It is mostly for school personnel and students and visitors to the schools. Also store clerks and health personnel. I think it is a good thing and most of the people there thought it was. The biggest issue is that some people do not like being told what to do, even if it is the right thing to do and even if it will benefit their families and themselves. The lady on TV, holding up the sign that says my child needs to breath. My question is on a ventilator or on their own? The hospital here is full of COVID patients and so many of them are children and young adults. To me, that is sad.

Tina had to work this afternoon so had time to come home and change clothes and go to work. She works tomorrow morning so will come home, change shoes, grab a bit of lunch and off we will go to the doctor’s appointment. I hope we can go to Belk’s Department store ( Home good department) afterwards and look for towels. I want some new one for the new bathroom. And a shower curtain. And???????

Your question for the day: Is the IRS a part of the United States Government or is it its’ own private inanity?

Have a terrific, thrifty, stupendous, awesome Taco Tuesday

THIS TREE IS LOCATED IN THE SEQUOIA NATIONAL PARK, CALIFORNIA

Monday, September 7, 2021 Sunny Clear Slight breeze 70 degrees 1:00 p.m.

The General Sherman is said to be the biggest tree in the Americas. It is a beautiful tree and worth taking a trip to gp see it if you haven’t already. The Sequoia Forest is beautiful. I know that they were wrapping the tree to help save it from the fires that destroyed so much of California as well as other western states. Between the fires and the drought there is a lot of damage to both property and animals and, of course, people.

The news has talked about climate change and what could or would or will happen if we don’t change our ways of living and stop the coal and gas use. But, I wonder if that is the basic cause of it all? Every so many years the climate changes and with it all life had to change or pass away. The ice age, and the Dust Bowl and now? I believe most every continent has been affected with the weird weather, fires, floods, etc. Time will tell, or is telling.

We had a nice weekend. The beds got switched. Sierra and Milo think the king size bed it the best ever. they can really stretch out as long and as wide as possible on that bed. Tina said she thinks she will need a bigger bed to accommodate these two cats and her. It is lovely in her room, with the new bed comforter and pillows, etc. Her room is big enough so that the bed doesn’t look like it is crowing anything. It really enhances it.

I am waiting until the bathroom gets done and then we can get the guest room all set up and the whole upstairs cleaned and looking nice. Next year Tina’s room and bathroom will get done, then the floors up there. It will be so nice to have the upstairs done. It just takes time and money, and patience.

Saturday evening we went to Jerry’s and had the indoor tail gate party. It was fun. When good food, good company and good games are on, it is always fun. We left early as Tina had to be at work at 7:00 a.m., plus driving at night isn’t something she is comfortable doing these days. It was fun with the dogs who were so friendly and playful. We both enjoy being with the Knoxville branch of the family.

We owe a big Thank You to Jerry, Tammy and Noah for moving and setting up the three beds. The mechanical beds are very heavy and the trips up and down the stairs added to the project. So I am sure they are sore today, and probably tired. We do appreciate all of their hard work.

The Question today is: When did the British Dirigible R-34 cross the Atlantic Ocean?

Have a wonderful rest of your Monday. Make it the perfect start to a perfect week. Fill it with productivity, positiveness, pleasure, peace and prosperity.

The King James Bible

Friday, September 24, 2021 Sunny Blue Sky Breezy 67 Degrees 2:45 p.m.

The answer to yesterday’s question is: The two chapters that are alike in the bible are: the 19th chapter of second Kings and the Thirty-seventh chapter of Isaiah.

Today is beautiful. Sunny, breezy, clear, birds singing, people out walking their dogs, kids home from school and out playing ball. A great Fall Day!

The guys are upstairs working on the bathroom. It is going to be so nice and bright and cheery. I am really looking forward to the completion of it. I haven’t made up my mind what color towels I want in there as I said everything white and brushed silver so that I can choose the color of the accessories. When they get it all completed I will figure it out.

Tina will have her King sized bed this evening I believe, and Dotty will have her queen that is adjustable he and foot. The king bed is that way also. Dottie is looking forward to having the ability to being able to put the bed in any position that is comfortable for her. I know she will appreciate it as much as Tina and I do.

The weekend is looking like ball games and tail gate parties minus the tail gate. All should be fun. Tina is making Trisha Yearwood’s crock-pot mac and cheese. It sounds so good. What else in on the menu I don’t know. Lots of cheering, laughing and good company.

Time for today’s question: where in California is the tree know as General Sherman located?

Have a fabulous Friday and a great, adventurous, enjoyable, relaxing, safe, healthy and fun weekend. It is the first weekend of Fall.
