Friday, September 29, 2023 Mostly Sunny Breezy Warm Nice 76 Degrees 4:12 p.m.

A nice day. Dillon, a man Bill hired to fix his front room window screens and replace the wood that is rotting was here yesterday and again today. He is quite talented and very meticulous in his work. He wants it right and so works hard to make it perfect. The new screens are in and the whole frame that goes around the four windows as well as between them is completely new, painted and he is putting on metal around also so as it won’t rot out for many years. He will be back Monday to complete the project. He will talk to Charles on Monday and do a couple of odd jobs for us.

It was interesting watching him bring out this machine that cuts and bends metal. He set it up, then used it to cut each piece to fit perfectly. I had just seen that machine on “Homes on Homes” so knew about what it did. I enjoyed watching it in operation in person. It seems that all his equipment is duel purpose and his van is well situated with a place for everything, all neat and nice. He doesn’t waste time but at the same time, he doesn’t hurry through what he is doing. I am impressed and so is Bill.

The weekend is supposed to be lovely weather wise. We plan on going to Knoxville tomorrow to visit Dottie and Max. We will take her and go shopping and probably out for a hamburger as Dottie loves Hamburgers. I think we are going to COSCO as there are a few items we need from there. Where else I am not sure. Maybe check on Dallas. I doubt we will go over there as company gets the dogs all excited and Dallas is supposed to be kept calm, no running and no jumping, etc. She is a Puppy! It will be fun. Sunday, church, then we need to get some small household duties accomplished and then spend the rest of the day doing nothing. R & R.

Quote of the day: “Tending the Grass” “The grass is not, in fact, always greener on the other side of the fence.” writes Robert Fulghum. “Fences have nothing to do with it. The grass is greenest whee it is watered. When crossing over fences, carry water with you and tend the grass wherever you may be.”

Have a great rest of your Friday. And a fantastic weekend. Make both enjoyable, adventurous, pleasant, relaxing, safe and fun.

Thursday, September 28, 2023 Mostly Cloudy Warm Breezy 73 Degrees 4:37 p.m.

We got rain yesterday. It came with Thunder and Lightening. We did not loose power, for which I am sure everyone is thankful. There is a chance we could get a shower this evening so will have to wait and see.

Today has been busy but quiet. I finished cleaning the downstairs. I do enjoy my Shark Steam cleaner-mop. it makes life so much easier. If I go over the floors every other day the steam cleaner works wonders. I hadn’t done more then run the vacuum for a week so did mop them and then steam cleaned them. Our floors are clean.

Dallas came through her surgery just fine and today was ready to play. I believe Tammy and Jerry are going to have their hands full with that recuperating puppy. She feels fine and wants to play but has to do some healing first. Tell that to a Great Piernese puppy! I have a feeling the other three dogs can’t understand why she can’t “come out and play” either.

Have a great rest of your day. Make it a caring, friendly, enjoyable and fun day.

Wednesday, September 27, 2023 Cloudy Might Rain Windy Warm 84 Degrees 4:05 p.m.

It has been a busy day around here. I have done the floors downstairs and that is quite an accomplishment for me. They are so old and some spots pop up so have to be careful. But, they are clean.

Yesterday I had company on and off all day. it was fun. The stray yellow or orange cat decided to come around again. it hung out with Juli and I our back. Then she went in her house and I went in our house. The cat stayed and came up to the back glass screen door. Sierra decided to go to the back glass screen door and there sat the yellow cat, The UN-hospality was on. The orange cat wanted in and Sierra wanted it gone, off the property, far far away. however she just sat there and looked at it for awhile, the orange cat sat there and meowed, the yowled and then got aggressive with the yowling adding hissing and standing on back legs to fight. Sierra sat up straight and growled. I shut the door and closed the blind. Sierra went and curled up in her bed and the orange cat left, went to hang out at Julies. Her two dogs don’t appreciate the intruder either and he husband is deathly allergic to cats. Such excitement. I haven’t seen it today at all, which is good.

Today Dallas went in for her surgery on her leg. I am waiting to hear how it went. She is just a puppy, (a sixty + pound puppy and her leg bones are growing to fast to keep up with her joints. I hope this fixes that problem and she has many years of being a playful, fun, happy and healthy puppy.

I think we are going to have a storm. It is getting dark and still. I am going to do the quote and send this before the power decides to go out.

Have a wonderful rest of your Wednesday. Keep it a safe, healthy, cheerful, enjoyable and fun day.

Monday, September 25, 2023 Mostly Sunny, Slight Breeze, 79 Degrees 4:41 p.m.

Monday, another work week started. School buses picking kids up and bringing them home. Workers returning home in time to walk their dogs. A beautiful Monday. At least here in Oak Ridge. I guess the Eastern Coast is experiencing rain and flooding. The weekend storm has delivered them another batch of rain, flooding, down trees and no electricity. I feel bad for those people.

Our weekend was busy but quiet. The sewing room has been completely painted and is now ready for new flooring. that will be here the 14th. We decorated for fall and put the summer things away. it looks nice and I am enjoying the change, There is some Halloween stuff but not very much and not at all scary. I will put a candle in the ceramic pumpkin Halloween just for trick or treaters. I love seeing the kids in their costumes. Especially the little ones. The rest is Fall and thanksgiving.

Today was laundry day and I have completed that. I am always glad when that is done. We are having Taco Salad for dinner tonight so that is easy. I made a crockpot of ham and 15 or 17 bean soup this weekend and it was very good. We both thought beans sounded good as we haven’t had them for quite a while. Of course we had cornbread to go with them.

Quote of the day: “I have a little red box with a little red button on it. If someone asks me what it’s for, I have to tell them, “Whenever I push that button absolutely nothing happens. it just keeps me humble!’ My calendar.

Have a great rest of your Monday. Make it a positive, pleasant, profitable, promising, and fun day.
