OAK RIDGE TENNESSEE NUCLEAR POWER PLANT

Tuesday, August 31, 2021 Raining Breezy Ida Depression moving through 70 degrees 11:11 a.m.

We are experiencing rain compliments of Hurricane Ida, now a depression. She is said to move slowly through the Tennessee Valley and be out of here by tomorrow evening. Thursday should be sunny and beautiful and 80 degrees, or close to it. I am praying that we don’t experience any major flooding. We have so many rivers, lakes and streams around here, in all of Tennessee, that the possibility is there.

The weekend was great. We did nothing exciting, just the normal household things. Tina ended up working 8 hours on Sunday so my day was very quiet. I did church in the morning and read in the afternoon. The evening was spent watching TV and early to bed. Getting up at 4:30 a.m. makes one ready for bed early. We barely got all of AFHV watched. (America’s Funniest Home Videos) I know that I was asleep before 8:30 p.m.

Yesterday, Monday, was our appointment to get our COVID-19 test. We both tested negative. Our neighbor, who has had their shots, had COVID so we thought that getting tested was a good idea. We are never close to them, but Tina works with the public and even though she wears her mask, quite a few others don’t so better safe then sorry. Home Depot, here, have the mask mandate in place once again.

After a bit of shopping at Kroger’s, we came home, Tina fixed enchiladas and a salad for an early dinner and Dottie came over to help celebrate my birthday. It was quiet and fun. I received several lovely birthday cards and lots of text messages and e-mails. It is always appreciated and so fun to hear from everyone. My gifts were and are, so fantastic and fun and useful. Jerry, Tammy and Tina gave me a beautiful electric fireplace that I can’t wait to use. (Right now it is to hot to even have the fire part on). I was going to turn it on last evening but felt silly with the fire going and it 89 degrees. Jerry also gave me a years subscription to Kendell e-books. I read my Kendell a lot so will use that a lot.

Diana and Bryan gave me a site where once a week I will receive a question pertaining to me and I will answer the question, making a story out if it and even adding pictures if I wish. By the end of the year I will of told my life story and it will be made into a book. That should be so fun. She said that she is stopping by one day this week so will be very happy to see her and her family. With the COVID we hardly get to see her, Bryan and the kids.

Dottie and I will celebrate our birthdays on the 4th with whole family, at a dinner someplace in the Cumberland. More about that after the fact. It should be fun. Jerry and Tammy always pick fun and interesting places to go and things to do. Both Dottie and I are looking forward to that. So fun.

Have a safe and healthy day. fill your day with productivity, fun, cheerfulness, kindness, peace and love

SIERRA AND MILO PLAYING

Friday, August 27, 2021 Partly Cloudy Breezy Possible Thunder storm 89 degrees 4:30 p.m.

Another very warm day. The temperature doesn’t seem so bad compared to Searchlight and Las Vegas, but add 80% humidity to it and it makes is very hot and clammy and miserable. Tina said that all the construction and contractor guys that come into Home Depot are complaining about the heat. Indoors it is nice and cool, so I stay indoors as much as possible. I will have to go out and water this evening if we don’t get rain, and I doubt that we will.

This morning I had PT on my neck and shoulder. OUCH! All was good but the massage. That hurt, I sure hope that this helps get my arm back to working correctly so that so I can drive, using the drivers side seat belt. No seat belt, no drive. I see the arm, shoulder, neck doctor on the 13th. My recommendation is don’t fall!!! Even if you don’t break anything you bruise everything.

We have the best mailman in the whole world. I ordered masks from Amazon and he brought the package and the mail to our door. Our back door as they can’t drive close to the front door. He is the nicest man and always so cheerful. Even he said that it si miserably hot out there.

Have a wonderful rest of your Friday and a super fantastic weekend. Make it a safe, healthy, fun, relaxing and adventurous one.

SEARCHLIGHT RED HATTERS GOLD DIGGERS PAST QUEEN MUM JOAN DENNING PASSED AWAY THIS MORNING

Thursday, August 26, 2021 Mostly cloudy Hot Humid Breezy 89 degrees 4:58 p.m.

Another very warm, still, humid day. There is Thunderstorms rumored but I doubt we will get any rain. I think the chance of rain was 20 % which usually means null. I will go out about 8:00 p.m. and water the plants so they will look good in the morning. By the time evening arrives they look wilted and hot.

I was sadden when I heard the news first thing this morning that Joan had passed away. Her journey through life on this earth has ended, She was a very active at the Red Hats. She always made sure that whoever wanted to go on one of the Red Hat outings had a ride and knew all the details. She helped plan outings that were fun and interesting and affordable for those interested. She printed maps for the drivers, and did so many other little things for each one.

Joan was also active in the Searchlight Senior Center, playing and calling BINGO, doing the exercise walking when they were having it, and there when needed. Joan had a wonderful smile and a kind word for all. She will be missed greatly by family who was her main point of interest; by friends who she had many, and by all who’s life she passed through.

Have a wonderful rest of your Thursday. Keep it a active, enjoyable, adventurous, thoughtful and fun day.

JUST STROLLING DOWN THE LANE

Wednesday, August 25, 2021 Cloudy Under a Thunder storm Warning 82 degrees 5:20 p.m.

The day was back to Physical Therapy, this time for the shoulder and neck. It seems I have a bone sitting on a nerve or out of place in my neck which might be causing the other issues, so will see how this goes. I go for an MRI a week from Friday. That should be fun.

This afternoon I cleaned out the drawers of the buffet in the dining room and put up demitasse spoons in the spoon and cup holder thing. You know, the souvenir spoons. My mother collected them and I finally decided to put some up. I will change them put periodically. They really are pretty and interesting.

I was surprised to hear that CAl-NEV-ARI had been sold. Nancy Kidwell has had it up for sale for many years. I am sure that she is glad it has sold and is now able to go and do the things she would like to do, like travel. She is a nice and smart lady.

We didn’t get any rain so I guess I will have to go out and water. The plants seem to require a lot of water even though it is humid. This soil simply gulps the water and I have no idea where it goes. Maybe that is why there are so many rivers and lakes and streams here.

Have a super fun rest of your day. fill it with productivity, kindness, cheerfulness and caring. Stay healthy, and safe
