THE ARTIST IS JOAN DENNING

Thursday, August 12, 2021 Sunny 88 degrees, Windy Humid 4:37 p.m.

A very warm day outside. The pups and I will play out there after the sun hides and it is a bit cooler. Right now they are napping. Murphy thinks it is even to hot to go bark at whatever might be out there. The squirrel is even hiding.

Last evening we were out for the before bed potty time. It was perfect to be out and enjoy the evening. I was looking towards the trees as Murphy found something to bark at. I didn’t see anything, then saw tiny lights here and there, bouncing all around. all of a sudden it dawned on me that they were fire flies. i was so happy to finally see them and even more so since I didn’t have to pay $29 to ride a bus to Cades Cove and $25.00 to get into the park just to see the fire flies. They put on quite a show for me. And the Katydids were doing their nightly serenade. It was wonderful. It is the simple things that are the most majestic.

The Alaskan travelers sent pictures of the whales and dolphins from yesterday’s site-seeing wonders. You can see the tail of the whale and then the dolphins riding along side the shop or boat. I saw more of them then I did of the whale. I know that they are having a good time and seeing a lot. Today they are to go to an animal refuge, then to see the glaciers, and mountains and the ocean. That should take care the day. I will have to wait until tomorrow to see the pictures.

Tina is having empty Nester withdrawals. I guess the mamma and daddy and babies flew off yesterday so no babies to watch in the hanging planter. She is very sad to have them gone. I am going to be also a I did enjoy watching the parents feeding the babies. But maybe we will have another pair move in and we can watch them. It might be a little late in the season but then, I don’t know what their season is. That isn’t in my bird book.

Have a great afternoon and evening. Make it a pleasant, cool, enjoyable, and blessed one.
