THE LONDON BRIDGE, LAKE HAVASU, ARIZONA

Tuesday, August 24, 2021 Sunny with a few wispy white clouds No breeze 90 degrees 4:34 p.m.

The above picture is of the London Bridge in Lake Havasu, Arizona. It is an interesting place, full of tourist attractions and a bit of history. The London Bridge came from London England and is the star of a nursery rhyme, London Bridges Falling Down.? Remember that one? There are many restaurants and shops located along both sides of the Colorado River, close to the bridge. Motels are close to it also. Tickets can be bought for the cruse “ship” that goes between Lake Havasu Arizona and Laughlin Nevada. It is a pretty and an interesting cruse.

Today has been quiet but busy. The laundry got done and the house cleaned up. Mostly pick up and put away. The roof man was here and gave a quote on fixing the vents on the roof and repairing some shingles, etc. Not bad and he will do it this week. We have been fortunate that we have had no leaks, and we want to keep it that way. Minor repairs are way cheaper then major fixes.

We think about the people affected by the flooding in Waverly Tennessee. The flooding is extensive and the missing and death total keep climbing. It is hard to imagine 17 inches of rain in such a short period of time, and all the damage it did. It will takes months, if not years, to get that town looking somewhat normal again. I doubt it will ever be back to what it was.

have a great rest of your Tuesday. Make your day productive, pleasant, fun, adventurous, and blessed

MONDAY, AUGUST 23, 2021

Monday, August 23, 2021 A beautiful Sunny, warm, breezy day 89 degrees 5:08 p.m.

The above picture is of the Colorado River at Laughlin Nevada. The casino is the AVI Indian Casino. It is a great place, great restaurant, casino, movie theater, live music, camp grounds, RV park, swimming, and lovely rooms. A fun place to vacation or just visit.

A quiet but fun weekend. After Friday’s shopping trip to Knoxville, it was nice to just stay home. We did have to go to the grocery store as that wasn’t included in our shopping trip. We didn’t need much and so not a big deal. Jerry and Tammy came over Saturday afternoon and showed pictures of their trip. they had a great time and took so many fabulous pictures. The wild animal ones were awesome. The mother moose and her baby were so close that I felt I could reach out and touch them. She was calm and evidently didn’t feel threatened by them. Boy, are they BIG! Both Jerry and Tammy looked great after their week’s vacation and then home to a week of work.

Today has been a hurry up and wait day. Tina had her Colonoscopy done.done. Dottie and I took her up there, sat in the waiting room and waited for her to be done, an hour and a half, then we went to Dean’s and ate. Then home. The day sure goes fast when you sit and do nothing. She is fine and so are we. Dottie and I had planned to go check out a couple of shops but was told that we couldn’t leave the area so we just sat there and visited. A couple came in and she was to have something done. When they called her back she was going to take her phone. They said that if she did they would put it in a locker for her. She finally gave it to her husband to hold. I guess the cell phones need to be implanted on hand or ear. Her husband just shook his head.

Have a wonderful rest of your day. Make it positive, fun, practical, productive, cheerful and blessed

BEAUTIFUL LILIES TO GRACE THE DINING TABLE

Thursday, August 19, 2021 Raining Cloudy 77 degrees 4:54 p.m. Quiet

Today has been a quiet day. Both Tina and I have spend time on the computers catching up on emails and bills and games, etc. I believe our biggest interests are the Afghanistan people, our citizens there, the missionaries that are there, and how horrible the circumstances are there. All there are in our prayers. Our Washington Officials are also in our prayers as they need to open their eyes and ears and take a real look at the United States citizens and the world. They might want to remember that words uttered cannot be taken back.

The terrible fires in California and all the people who will come back to find that their homes are no longer, their businesses gone and having to start all over again. The fires keep going and who knows where or when they will come to an end. It is said that fire scours and cleans so that land that has burned, and that is being burned should be clean and hopefully ready to start new crops, trees, homes, and businesses. I hope that the animals who have lost their homes in these fires will be able to regroup and make their homes someplace where food and shelter is available to them. All there are in my prayers also.

The drought and heat of Southern Nevada (probably all of Nevada) and Southern California that will forever change the lives and ways of the people there. Lake Mead is extremely low as is the Colorado River. I am sure there will be a water restriction put in place very soon if it hasn’t already been set. ai guess the cactus, snakes, lizards and such will make it OKAY, but I have doubts about flowers, trees, grass and other animals. Water is most important to live, any life. My prayers are with the people who are affected by the water shortage, and heat.

The people of the Southern and Eastern part of the United States who are dealing with flooding and rains from Tropical Depression Fred. They are having a rough time and are currently searching for several people missing, road washed out, bridges gone and homes uninhabitable. They are in my prayers.

The people of Hatti who are suffering from the earthquake and the rains from Fred. The amount of devastation and the death total are mounting daily. They are in my prayers also.

I am very thankful for all I have, for my family, friends, home and living in the Unites States. It is not perfect but so much better then so many other parts of the world. I hope that in some small way I can be of help to those who are not as blessed as I am,.

Have a Wonderful rest of your day. Be safe, Be healthy, be kind, be blessed

THE EAGLE JERRY SAW IN ALASKA

Wednesday, August 18, 2921 partly cloudy muggy, 86 degrees very slight breezy 5:50 p.m.

A busy day, all day long. A doctor’s appointment at 8:15 a.m.. Got there at 8:10, only to find out that my appointment was at 1:15 p.m. Hmmmm! So we went to breakfast at I-Hop, then on into Knoxville to the first stop the fruit stand along side the road, where we bought peaches, egg plant, potatoes, onions and a jar of peach preserves. Then the Christian Book Store and then to Mayo Garden supply, then back to Oak Ridge and to my 1:15 doctor appointment. After that a stop at the Soup Kitchen, a look into the arts and craft store there and then home.

After all that we are going to sit and watch TV, after the cats get fed and the morning chores get completed, a few hours late. I did make my bed before we left. You know the old saying, If the beds are made and the dishes are done, all is good in the house.

Have a wonderful, fun, relaxing, productive, kind and joyful rest of your day.

Blessings
