SIERRA ON THE PATIO IN LAS VEGAS

Thursday, August 5, 2021 Sunny Breezy 87 Degrees 10 degrees hotter then yesterday

Thursday and the weekend is near. We have been cleaning house and doing laundry. I leave for Jerry’s in the morning so am getting my stuff together. I am probably forgetting something I will need, but also will probably take more then I need. Isn’t that the way it should be? My plans are to play with dogs, catch up on my letter writing, read a couple of books, work on bible study, play with dogs, watch some TV, and play with dogs. That sounds like a great week to me.

Today the bathtub faucet in the upstairs hallway is leaking. It started as a drip, then a faster drip, then a small stream and now a much faster stream. We are waiting for the plumber to arrive and at least shut the water to that facet off. I can find most of the shut offs but not that one. Just another quirk in this used house. I do think the bathroom remodel will be sooner then later.

Son Jimmy called and said that he was having trouble hearing us and it is probably the area we live in because we have so many mountains and hills. And probably our phones. I always have problems hearing him between his birds and dogs and head piece and speaker etc. I think it is his headphones that is the problem. I told him we live in the secret city so it was probably a secret as to why he couldn’t hear us properly.

Since the plumber just pulled up I will wish you a very pleasant, entertaining, safe, fun and blessed day

Wednesday, August 4, 2021 Cloudy Thunderstorms Breezy 70 degrees 6:48 p.m.

A beautiful day here, nice warm but not hot, showers, just nice. Our flowers and grass are so happy with the watering from heaven. For some reason the rain water is preferred to the hose water. The flowers just beam!

Tina has decided to sell her three Indian pictures as there isn’t a place for them here. They take up a lot of wall space and we don’t have that much wall space. I was mildly shocked when she told me that as she really likes those pictures. But a new home and new walls and new state so time for a change.

I guess our biggest excitement so far this week was Tina saw a possum walking along the side of the turnpike on her way to work Sunday. She had to slow way down and get a better look to make sure of what type of animal it was. That is unusual as they are nocturnal so don’t know what it was doing out and about at 5:30 a.m.

Today Dottie came over and brought her home made vegetable soup and corn bread and brownies. What a good lunch. Tina went to work and we sat here and visited for four plus hours. I showed her the two homes that are for sale here and how expensive they are. This is on the Zell-o real estate . Just put in 103 Golfcrest Lane Oak Ridge TN and you can see that one and then scroll down and you can see the other one. It is dark brown, $230,000. 2 bedroom, 1 1 /2 bath, and I can’t remember the square ft, but not very big. We are amazed at the prices of houses now and how very few are for sale or rent.

Have a pleasant, cheerful, fun, over the hump, and blessed Wednesday.

MISS STAR LEADING THE TURKEYS HOME

Tuesday, August 3, 2021 Mostly Sunny 82 degrees Still 6:30 p.m.

I am trying to work on new pictures off BING but so far am having no luck. I am hoping that Friday Jerry can show me exactly what I am doing wrong as even with his recorded instructions I am missing something. Go Figure! He is so smart and I am the exact opposite when it comes to this modern technology.

We are watching for action on the two condos or Townhouses that are for sale here. One is across the street and the other is in the next building. The prices are like California prices for this area so will see what action they get. One is a two bedroom bath and a half for $239,900 and it isn’t updated at all. The other is a three bedroom bath and a half for $139,000 and it is just slightly bigger, square ft wise then the first one. Yes, everything is now higher. But, if you sell your house, where do you go? There is next to nothing to rent and not much to buy. Here or anywhere else.

The secret City is doing well. there is a building moratorium here so no new buildings going up. that includes homes and apartments. There is a new electric plant going up but it is an upgrade from the old one. So not new. It is nice here, believe me.

Have a great evening and enjoy the August Summer Lazy Days.

Blessings

A JUNE SEARCHLIGHT GOLD DIGGERS RED HAT’S SHOPPING TRIP! WHAT FUN WE HAD!

Monday, August 2, 2021 Partly Cloudy 84 Degrees Breezy Maybe a Thunder Storm 5:07 p.m.

I can’t believe it is already August. Where does the time go? I seem to be busy all the time and yet not get a lot accomplished that I intend to. Maybe I should watch the birds less and do more of the necessities around here. I do like watching the mamma and daddy birds feed their babies. Tina said that she thinks there are 3 babies. I still think only one.

Friday, after the foot doctor for toenails, a trip to D.M.V. to register the car, which cost $29.84. Can you believe that?

A trip into T.J. MAX as I had a card from returning a lamp a few months ago. It was fun to go through the store and see all the different things not found in most stores. We had a great time visiting with different people and looking at all sorts of things. I bought a pair of white tennis shoes lined with lambs wool, (faux) for $8.00 and know they will be awesome this winter. Nothing like warm tootsies when it is snowing outside. Then home.

We went to Jerry’s around 3:30p.m. so I could learn a bit more about feeding the dogs and their habits and needs and wants. They are fun and really good dogs so I am sure I will enjoy them for the week. I hope they don”t miss Jerry and Tammy to much. Can dogs get homesick for their people when the dogs are still at home? Hmm!

After that we all went to a Hot Dog place in Sole-way (SP) and had a really good hot dog. One of the best I have ever had. The company was good also, Jerry, Tammy, Dottie, Robbie and Tina. That was fun and we will go back. Tina loves hotdogs! Then home, feed the kitties, and curl up in the chair with the kitties for a bit of TV before bedtime.

Saturday and Sunday were sort of lazy days. Tina has her two very early hours those days so it is just doing the minimal around here. We get up at 4:30 on Sunday mornings to watch Charles Stanley on Channel 8. That is great. But if I stay awake and read on Saturday nights, I have a very long day on Sundays. I was in bed by 7:30 and asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.

Have a great rest of your Monday. Enjoy the first Monday in August, fill it with Positiveness, Kindness, Cheerfulness, Productivity, Love and Blessings.
