HO HO HO

Wednesday, December 15, 2021 Sunny Cool Breezy 60 Degrees 5:22 p.m.

I should say it was a sunny and warm day as our temperature got on the upper 60’s and we had a breeze for a bit. Now the sun has set and the temperature is dropping. It is clear as a bell and is to get down in the high 30’s again tonight. Not bad December weather. The weekend is coming and with it another storm and a cold front so the temperatures will be back down to around normal winter time cold.

Today was laundry day and having that done is wonderful. We also took a trip to the post office and got some cards written. I am waiting for a couple of things to come in the mail and it is important that they get here soon. But I guess if they aren’t on time a couple of people will get their gifts a bit late. They may be New Years gifts instead of Christmas gifts.

Today’s Story: ANOTHER SANTA CLAUSE

Christmas day will soon be here, it must be so, because no matter where I look, I see another Santa Clause.

When our doorbell rang this morning, it was Santa at the door, and when we went Christmas Shopping I saw Santa in the store. There are Santas, lots of Santas, in the windows brightly lit, and on almost every corner still more Santa Clauses sit. I see Santas by the dozens, by the millions, by the ton. How strange to see so many, since there can’t be more then one!

While out shopping this year I haven’t seen very many Santa Clauses so wonder where they are all hiding? I have only seen three Salvation Bell Ringers and that is unusual I think. Here there is Toys for Tots, several food pantry places and most every grocery store has barrels set up to take in food for the needy . I have seen a lot of places with donation jars and cups for ST. Jude’s Children Research and for the Children’s hospital in Knoxville. Other then that just the usual stuff one gets in the mail. I give to St, Jude’s regularly.

Have a wonderful rest of your hump day. Make is joyous, pleasing, fruitful and fun.

SANTA TRADING PLACES WITH RUDOLPH

Tuesday, December 14, 2021 Sunny, Bright, Cool 53 degrees 5:52 p.m.

I do believe my shopping is done. The stores are crowded, the cashiers overworked. The isles are full, mostly people,

the goods scattered heather and yon. There is plenty of stuff but maybe not what you want, I saw a wall mounted Scrabble game, and wonder how that would work? Tons of games and toys, a lot of things I hadn’t heard of before. One , who appears on everything from clothing to toys, bibs to purses, is YODA! No, I didn’t purchase him in any form. I was a bit on the practical side this year.

The weather is supposed to be great until Saturday when another storm comes through. Home is where I plan to be so I doubt the weather will interfere. Another cold front is due in and with it comes wind and rain. I pray that it isn’t as bad for people as the last one was. It will take years to get all that damage cleaned up and repaired and rebuild. Human life cannot be replaced but I am hoping that healing will slowly soften the harsh reality. My heart aches for all those affected by the tornadoes,

Today”s story: A SLED FOR CHRISTMAS

Up! UP! Up I jump and down the stairs I fly!

LOOK! LOOK! A brand new sled I can’t wait to try.

ZIP! ZIP! Bundle up, I’m toasty warm inside.

QUICK! QUICK! Out the door, then down the hill I’ll glide

Another good story from a Kindergarten prime, it what ever it was.

I understand that the West coast is in for some stormy weather, rain, snow, sleet and hail and probably wind. Bundle up and stay warm and safe out there. Winter is here, even though the calendar says we have seven days to go.

Have a great rest of your Tuesday, make it a pleasant, productive, kind and prosperous one

THE 13TH DAY OF CHRISTMAS

Monday, December 13, 2021 Sunshine Clear 49 degrees 5:41 p.m.

After a stormy weekend, we have a beautiful Monday. It was 28 degrees when we got up and got up to 51 this afternoon. It is supposed to go down to 30 degrees tonight. It is winter weather, for the moment. The weekend was very warm cooling down last evening, so not the normal.

We are devastated to hear about all the tornadoes that hit across the south east. My heart goes out to everyone effected by those terrible storms. All are in my prayers. I am so thankful that none hit here, though we did have some high winds that did damage in some parts of town, mostly tarps blown off and such. Some trees lost branches and that is all I have heard about.

Today’ Story: SINGING CHRISTMAS CAROLS!

On Christmas Eve we bundle up and go out caroling, our neighbors shut their windows when they hear my family sing. My voice is very beautiful, I sing like a bird. but everybody drowns me out so I am barely heard. Dad sings like a buffalo and mother like a moose. My sister sounds like breaking glass. my brother like a goose. Some people come and greet us, they bring cookies on a tray. I think they give us cookies just to make us go away. Though our singing sounds so sour it send shivers down my spine when we’re caroling together there’s no family sweet as mine

Today was a trip to Knoxville and Belk. Tina found what she was looking for so the trip was a success. I was just along for the ride as I didn’t have shopping to do there. It is a beautiful store, much like Macy’s and Dilards, but they didn’t have what I am looking for. I will go here in town one day this week, or next. I am nearly done so am not in a hurry.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend and that you week is productive, cheerful, safe and healthy. Make the rest of your Monday fantastic.

OFF TO SHOP FOR SANTA

Friday, December 10, 2021 cloudy, drizzly cold 51 degrees 6:08 p.m.

The temperature says it isn’t that cold, but the damp weather makes if feel cold. It has been misting and sort of raining all day. The weatherman says that tomorrow will be the “big storm” in the way of rain. I will be home to watch it from the windows. Tina has to work but will be home by 9:30 so should be here before it really hits. Winter is upon us I think. We do have 11 more days until it is officially here.

Today Tina went to the doctor as did Jerry. he has a head cold but she has the Viral bronchitis so is on a Zee pack and steroids. Since she just started she should get over this real quick. I got the Zee pack and will start it tomorrow also. I can save it if I thinks I am better so shall see in the morning. I know I am better but not yet ready to go dancing. Maybe tomorrow.

Today’s Story: AUNTIE FLO

Every year on Christmas there’s a gift from Auntie Flo, She’s sent me pairs of underwear for three years in a row. The box is always beautiful, the bow is neatly tied, but i”m always disappointed when I see those shorts inside. I wish she’d send a model plane,, or even a big stuffed bear, I’d take a box of stones and rocks, but please! no underwear.

The weekend is upon us and I believe we will be close to home. We will work at getting well and also doing the cards and things that need to be completed. It will be nice to stay home and not have to go anyplace for two days. The cats had a wrestling match under the Christmas tree so have to fix the skirt. It is all bunched up. I am dreading placing packages under there as I know that Milo will want to sample each one. He likes to keep his shredding skills polished.

Have a great rest of your Friday and a wonderful, busy, fun and relaxing weekend.
