Tuesday, November 22, 2022 Sunny High Clouds Cool 51 Degrees 2:17 p.m.

A beautiful day. A bit cool but much better then the previous wintry days. There is still a chill in the air and jackets, sweaters and mittens are still needed. However, Thanksgiving day is said to be 62 degrees. That is the day the ovens will be on and all the good smells will float in the air. I believe 62 degrees outdoors will be very welcome.

Had my semi annual physical this morning. I am healthy as a horse. I guess I am good for another six months. Of course Arthur visits me quite often, but then, he is a visitor to so many senior citizens. I think he comes with age and all the living of life we do. I have no complaints.

On the way to the doctor’s office this morning we stopped at Walmart. We knew we had to have cat food as they had their last can this morning. It was great shopping as there were very few people there. I was surprised at the people stocking shelves and racks. I thought that was done at night after the store was closed. I was told that since COVID-19, there hasn’t been graveyard crews to do the stocking so no graveyard shift. Now it is done during the hours the store is open. One of the problems is not enough people wanting to work or wanting to work outside their home. Work from Home is the popular thing now. That, in part, is caused by the high cost of child care. It is a vicious circle. Also the lack of materials or supplies to do certain jobs. Anyway, outside of dodging stocking people with large overloaded carts, the shopping was good and we were in and out in no time.

Have a great rest of your Tuesday. Make it a positive, thrifty, productive, safe and fun day.

Monday, November 21, 2022 Sunny Cold Windy 44 Degree 12:48 p.m.

Another chilly day. It was 22 degrees when Tina left for work at 7:15 this morning. That is cold. However, the roofs, grass and anything solid such as car roofs and windows, garbage cans, etc, sparkled like they had been generously sprinkled with diamonds. The weatherman said that we should get up to 50 degrees today and only down to 30 tonight. Not to bad. Snowmen would love it.

The weekend was cold and breezy and very wintry like. Moving Dottie got put on hold as the electrical box inspector didn’t show up. Rather he did but neglected to notify Jerry that he would be there so the door was locked. So, he is due to be there today. No electricity. No electric pole as yet. The porch hadn’t built and put in place so no way to safely moves furniture and boxes in. So, all in all, moving will take place in a couple of weeks, maybe three. She might be in by Christmas. Dottie and Max are welcome here as long as they want to stay. This will be their Half-way House. Or, Second Home.

Tina and I went to The Manhattan Nail salon and got our nails done. Tina had tips on and they were coming off and her nails looked terrible. Not pretty to go to work with. Mine were fine but had grown out so had a half and half look. Now they look calm and nice.. I did Aubry and it looks nice. We usually go once a month to every six weeks.

Jerry and Tammy came over on Sunday afternoon. Jerry and Tammy took care of my “honey-do” list. That was so nice and very much appreciated. Tina had more needs then I did this time. My main need was getting my card program to print. It kept wanting me to create a PDF file, over and over. He fix that problem so now I can make cards once again. So Happy. Tina had him hang up her knick Knack shelve and hang some pictures in the living room. And they took the spare bed that was in the living room. It will go to Dottie’s for her office. It will be her day bed.

Today is laundry, vacuuming, dusting and general pick up and put away. A busy day but nice. I can work indoors and that is great. I do appreciate being able to look out and enjoy the weather while being inside warm and cozy.

Have a great Monday. Make it a warm, prosperous, industrious, healthy safe, and fun day.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 18, 2022

Friday, November 18, 2022 FREEZING COLD SUNDAY 26 DEGREES 8:55 A.M.

A freezing start to this sunny Friday morning. We left the water dripping and the under sink doors open. The heat down to 68. All is good here and I hope everywhere else.

I haven’t seen this kind of weather since growing up in Nevada back in the 40’s and 50’s. Thanksgiving was cold and sometimes even snow. It was refreshing and nice. Just feeling the hustle and bustle of the holiday season and smelling all the wonderful smells of cookies, pies, cakes and breads baking. Mom’s home always had that smell drifting through the door as we opened it. She was a great baker as well as a cook.

Here, there is less then a week until Thanksgiving. Tammy, Tina, Dottie, Melissa, and I have discussed the menu and all sounds wonderful. I can ALMOST smell the great smells coming from kitchens of our homes. I can also imagine hearing the cheers and groans from the guys, sitting in the living room, watching the football games, cheering on their favorite teams. The ladies will be cheering from the kitchen and dining room. As you can tell, I am looking forward to Thanksgiving Day. I have so much to be thankful for.

This weekend we will be helping Dottie get moved into her new home. My Saturday evening her current home should be emptied of furniture and boxes. the only thing left in there will be the stove, the refrigerator, the dishwasher and the hot water heater. Oh, yes, the H-vac stuff. Everything should be in the new home. To put it all together when it gets there will take time, thought and energy. That can be done when Dottie is ready. She will have so much fun getting her new home just the way she wants it. I do hope that the heavy furniture, like the beds, get put where she wants them as moving them is a heavy chore.

Have a great Friday and a fantastic weekend. Make all energetic, interesting, enjoyable, warm, safe and fun.

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 17, 2022

Thursday, November 17, 2022 Sunny Breezy COLD 34 Degrees 11:12 a.m.

It is a winter day, one week from Thanksgiving, in the middle of Fall! The weatherman said that the whole nation is in the cold to freezing mode. I wonder what winter will be like this year/next year?? Son Jimmy, who lives in Yuma, said that it was windy and cold there. He didn’t specify what “cold” was, but probably in the 50’s to 60’s.

Jerry and Tammy came over last evening and enjoyed birthday cake with Tina and I. It was a last minute idea as we had planned on going to Dottie’s when Tina got home, but then, Tina is afraid of one section of the road leading to Dottie’s as it is dark and narrow and curvy and hilly. So better safe then sorry. I asked Dottie to come here if she wanted but she said it was late so would say no and see us later. It was fun just visiting. Tammy brought her wedding pictures and they are so good. It was a wonderful, simple wedding. They are so happy and that makes Tina and I happy.

I have one lone rose blooming. I guess the rosebush doesn’t mind the freezing weather. We need to get out and cut it back for the winter. Tina thinks we should have fake flowers and plants in our flower bed. I almost agree with her. Neither of us are very good gardeners. I think it would look better if we do that. One of our neighbors does that and his place always looks neat and nice.

Have a great Thursday. Make it a thrilling, exciting, adventurous and fun day.
