Monday, December 12, 2022 Sunny Cool Pretty 53 Degrees 4:24 p.m.

Here it is Monday and nearly half the month is gone. Just 13 days until Christmas. It seems like only yesterday I had a whole month to get every thing done. At least all the packages are mailed. That is a big thing in itself. Now I am working on cards. I hope to have them all out by Wednesday.

This is the week we go to the Biltmore and that is going to be such a beautiful experience. I am hoping that we have good weather Thursday and Friday. The Biltmore is located in, or, outside of Asheville NC and I believe in the mountains, but am not sure. Just praying for clear and dry roads. More about that trip next week.

The weekend was busy. We went to a craft show and that was interesting and fun. So many good ideas and so much to see. Yes, we bought a couple of things. Nothing major. Other then that we did some crafting here at the house as well as the normal household stuff. Yesterday we had dinner at Monica and Jim Carter’s home. That was fun. They live atop a mountain. So Pretty, but such a drive!

Story of the day: “The MISTLETOE: Mommy, Daddy, quick! Lets go and stand beneath the mistletoe. You kiss me and i”ll kiss you, here comes sister, kiss her too. Mommy, Daddy, Lets go and stand under the mistletoe.” From a child’s story book, give to me many years ago.

Have a great rest of your Monday. Make it a profitable, Pleasant, Patient, Prayerful and fun day.

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 9, 2022

Friday, December 9, 2022 Cloudy Foggy Chilly 58 Degrees 2:15 p.m.

A great Friday afternoon. No rain. At least not so far. I think that we are in the drying stages for now but might see more rain tomorrow evening through Sunday morning. I am in hopes that the sun will shine for a little while. I am sure that Sierra needs some vitamin D.

There isn’t a great deal going on around here. With the wet weather people aren’t being walked as much by their dogs. And the birds tend to stay in their homes or have left for warmer and sunnier climates. I guess they are the original “snowbirds”.

The Christmas tree is up and the house is decorated. One more trip to the post office and all packages will be mailed. The Christmas letter is written and ready to be put in cards. They should all be ready to mail by Monday or Tuesday. Once all that is done, I can enjoy doing some of the crafts I have started, wrapping gifts that don’t have to be mailed and watch Christmas programs, Hallmark Movies, etc. Just thinking about it makes me smile.

This coming week we go visit the Biltmore and that thought is so exciting. We all are interested in going there and seeing EVERY THING! Charlene said she watched a documentary on it and it was wonderful so know that we will enjoy it. I would of liked to of seen that. I am hoping for good weather.

Have a fantastic Friday and weekend. Enjoy patiently doing the malls, stores, freeways and byways. Be safe, healthy and have fun.

Thursday, December 8, 2022 Cold Raining Foggy 56 Degrees 3:46 p.m.

True to the weatherman’s word, it is raining, again, still, now and probably tomorrow. The high today is supposed to be 50 but it feels more like 50 right now. I have to admit that is better then 30 or 40. I think that it is the humidity, the dampness that makes it feel so cold.

Not a great deal of news around here. Of course we aren’t moving Dottie as it is way to wet to put in a power pole right now. Maybe next month she will get to move into her new home. I was looking back at the blogs and saw that she started packing last January. It’s been a while and what a great opportunity to go through everything and sort, throw, give, etc all drawers, closets and cupboards. Of course, I don’t think a year is needed to accomplish all of that. But when you are expecting to move, having all that time is wonderful because there is no rush or pressure to get it done.

Max, the poodle, I am sure, doesn’t feel that way. His house is turned upside down and, being blind, it makes life very confusing. He pretty much stays on the couch, out of the way. He knows where his food and water are, and where the bed in the bedroom is, and how to get there. Also the front door when he wants or needs to go out. With all of this rain, he only requires that when absolutely necessary. After all, he isn’t a duck.

We have a few puddles in the front yard and a few puddles in the back. Nothing flooding and that is good. We do have the sand bags if needed but so far the water seems to be absorbed into the ground every time it quits raining for an hour or so. For that, we am thankful.

We have less then a week until Tina, Tammy, Dottie and I go to the Biltmore. Now we are getting excited . I just imagine how beautiful it is with all the Christmas Decorations tastefully displayed. We also get to see the Leonardo da Vinci – 500 Years of Genius .This is about his achievements and brilliance being brought to life. I am sure that will be very interesting. All will be interesting. Just might have to come home and re-decorate. !?

Have a cheerful, adventurous, enjoyable and fun rest of your day.

Wednesday, December 7, 2022 Cloudy Rainy Foggy 60 Degrees 5:15 p.m.

Rain Rain Go away. Come back another day. Yes, it is still raining and will be on and off through Friday. It is so surprising at how fast the ground soaks up the rain. When it stops raining for a bit, the puddles disappear and all is good until it starts up again. We have had over 2 inches of rain since Monday. The humidity is 100%.

Here it has been a quiet day. I have done the laundry, worked on my stories, and done odds and ends that have been let go for a week or so. there is always something to do around here. Tomorrow is letter writing day so that will keep me busy. Sierra will help me on that subject. She likes to keep close and within pawing distance of the pen or key board. Right now she is sitting, watching me and hoping that I will soon be ready to feed her. She thinks it is her dinner time. The time change didn’t work with her built in clock.

Since Tina is home I will make this short and sweet and go get diner on the table.

Quote of the day: “Risk- takers are enriched not just by the joy we experience, but also by the tears we shed. Step out in faith and do what you feel led to do, whether it’s something simple like volunteering for a new outreach ministry with your church, or something more complicated—-like applying for astronaut training!”

Have a great rest of your day. Make it adventurous, productive, cheerful and fun.
