Monday, January 23, 2023 Sunny Still Beautiful 40 Degrees Cold 5:31 p.m.

The morning started out very cloudy and sprinkling lightly. As the day progressed the sun slowly peeked between the clouds. the wind came up and shooed the clouds away. The sun came out and shined brightly, cheering everyone and everything up. We do appreciate the sun.

The weekend was busy. Saturday we helped a neighbor out a bit, then went to COSCO and helped their profit margin quite a bit. After returning home from there we put groceries away and back in the car, off to Kroger’s for the items that we can’t get at COSCO, or won’t get there because it comes in to big a quantity. After helping out their profit margin we came home and put those groceries away. So it is now close dinner time, we are pooped so ordered a pizza to be delivered. That helped Domino’s margin for the day. It is so nice to be a “Helper”. The pantry is full and the freezer is full and the wallet is empty!

Sunday we watch Dr. Charles Stanley. then stripped the beds, did all the laundry, made the beds. Tina baked banana bread, roasted the turkey breast , and I worked on my games. We ate dinner, watched TV and was in bed by 9:00 p.m.

Today, Monday, I vacuumed, mopped floors, dusted, and talked on the phone to my sister-in-law. Now it is dinner time and so will end this book.

FRIDAY, JANUARY 20, 2023

Friday, January 20, 2023 Sunny Breezy Cold Beautiful 48 Degrees 5:02 p.m.

A very cool but pretty day. It is so nice to have sunshine even if it is cold. The wind makes it cold I am sure. All the people walking their dogs are in jackets and gloves, etc. The dogs have jackets on also, most of them. Smokey, the big German Shepard does not have a sweater or jacket. He seems to be enjoying the cold weather as he is full of energy, unlike his master.

Today I rearranges the living room, moving my desk away from the front door and over to the far wall, out of the way, It is nice as the chair doesn’t go all over the place when I get up, just more or less stays right there by the desk. The best part is that I can sit and type, etc without everyone looking in at me. More privacy. Sierra’s cat tree is right by the desk and she seems happy that it is there and she can be in it and yet close to me. She hasn’t bugged me very much today when I have been on the computer.

We are having kielbasa and scalloped potatoes for dinner tonight. I think a veggie to go with it. I do like kielbasa once in a while. A hot meal on a cold day is good. I think hot tea will be the drink of the evening.

The weekend is here. Tomorrow, probably afternoon, we will go to Dottie’s and visit for a bit. Then grocery shop and home. Sunday, it is supposed to rain so a good day to stay home and read a book, play a game, rest and relax.

Quote of the day: “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people. Galatians 6:9-10.” My Calendar

Have a wonderful Friday evening and a weekend; make them filled with laughter, adventure, relaxation, family and friends, and fun.

THURSDAY, JANUARY 19, 2023

Thursday, January 19, 2023 Sunny Windy Warm Beautiful 68 Degrees 3:50 p.m.

We had rain this morning, then wind, then the sun peeked out. Finally full sunshine and wind. So pretty. I hope we get a couple of days with sunshine as it sure makes the house cheery and brightens everything up.

Today has been a day of writing letters, picking up and putting away. Of just doing odds and ends. I think I finally have gathered all the Christmas stuff that was forgotten and now is ready to be put away. It seems that no matter how hard we try there is always things forgotten that need to go in the Christmas storage boxes or crates. I think that means rearranging the shed again.

Charles came over and reported that Roxy’s vet appointment yesterday was good. Her liver enzymes are close to being back to where they should be and she is doing just fine. She is such a good dog and I am so glad she is doing well. We get to see her every time Pamela comes to visit her dad or us. She is working more now and I think different hours so don’t see much of her.

I received my Belle mobile medical alert system button yesterday so have charged it and am wearing it. So far it is not a bother and I can go about my daily chores without it being a bother. I can wear it around my neck like a necklace or on a clip on my belt. I can always put it under my shirt when doing chores that require me to bend over. I think it is a security that all who are alone a lot need.

Have a great rest of your Thursday. Make it a valuable, adventurous, bright, learning and fun day.

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 18, 2023

Wednesday, January 18, 2023 Cloudy Foggy this a.m. Cool Still 53 Degrees 6:12 p.m.

The weatherman promised a sunny afternoon but all we received was clouds. It wasn’t really warm even though the thermometer said 53. Tomorrow we should have rain in the morning and a nice warm, sunny and windy afternoon. I sure hope so. Gray is pretty but sunshine yellow is cheery. The weatherman says 68 for a high tomorrow.

The desk drawers are all in order now. I believe that tomorrow I will clean house, vacuum, dust, bathrooms, etc. It is time. I have ignored the housecleaning for the desk and file cleaning. Am glad that is one project completed. I do believe Sierra will miss all the fun places to check out and crawl in and scatter around, or sleep on. But, I am sure she will find something else to entertain herself with and “help” me.

That is all of interest today. Maybe more tomorrow. I hope to open the Builtmore House book and get started reading that. I will share the interesting parts as I am sure there are many.
