The weekend was busy, cold, windy, fun, and How about that Superbowl! That was a good game, both teams giving it their all. The score was close. No serious injuries, fights, bad calls. Half time was O.K. but not that great. The commercials weren’t that great either. Even Budweiser Beer didn’t live up to their usual great commercials. Most important, the game was good
The gathering was at Jerry’s house. The dining table was loaded down with lots of goodies. We had macaroni salad, Hamburger sliders, chicken slider, ham and cheese sliders, chips, dips, a veggie tray, pickles, and I don’t remember what else. Later on we enjoyed birthday cake and ice cream. We all sang to Jerry as yesterday was his birthday. ‘Happy Not your birthday to you! ” Among his gifts was a subscription for a monthly delivery of ice cream. That was from his daughter. Since none of us knew about that we had just plain Vanilla ice cream to go with the yummy cake. I think it is the Hummingbird cake. Sooooooo good. It was a good afternoon. Tina and I came home to watch the game as we like to be hoe by dark. The headlights on the car aren’t as bright as they use to be.
Saturday we did errands. A trip to Home Depot where we purchased bird feeders and visited with everyone Tina worked with. It was fun. I wondered the store while she visited. I bought a dust mop type tool to dust the ceiling fans. They get so dusty and are had to dust, even with the swifter duster. This dust mop is great. The blades fit into the “o” space in the mop head and when you pull the mop head out, the dust comes with it and not flying all over the place.
Then we went to Hobby Lobby to get the squares to attach pictures and papers to scrapbook and other things of that nature. Love looking at all the pretty things in that store, but am happy to leave most of it there, just getting what I go in for. The next stop was Kroger’s. So many empty shelves and the prices were much higher then the previous week. I can’t see what their point is. I know they want everyone to buy their brand name product, and I also know that want to go to robot cashiers, but they seem to be working towards going without customers. I heard lots of complaints. It isn’t just Kroger;s, it is most stores. Especially chain stores. Maybe even ration stamps. After all, what goes around comes back around.
Quote of the day: “You know it’s time to throw in the towel when you’d fall apart completely if it weren’t for the static cling!
Have a great rest of you Valentines Day! Make it a special, hearts and flowers, champagne and candy, warm and fun day.
