Wednesday, February 15, 2023 Cloudy Breezy Cool Rain Expected 61 Degrees 4:49 p.m.

It has been a busy day. Pamela came over this morning and we played games until nearly noon. We started with the new game that Diana & Family got me for Christmas. It is HUES and CLUES. We played for a bit but finally gave up as she is color blind, can’t get faded colors so made playing difficult. We then played Canasta. That went much better. It was a good game and we both had out ups and downs, great hands and poor hands. I finally won. I was sure that she would win but I finally got the right card and took the stack that was very high, and won. What a morning!

This afternoon I have done some of the things that I have on my to do list. Each little project completed is an accomplishment. I try and do one a day but that doesn’t always work. I am still on the answering letters project. I hope to get it caught up this week.

Nothing else going on, including me sitting down and reading the book on the Profit of Oak Ridge. I hope to get that accomplished this week also. The week is only half over.

Time to start dinner. It will be a light one as Tina had a big lunch so isn’t very hungry. We shall see.

Have a great rest of your hump day. Make it an enjoyable , relaxing, social, cozy and fun one.

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 14, 2023 HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY Y’ALL!

Tuesday, February 14, 2023 Mostly Sunny Breezy Cool Nice 60 Degrees 2:54 p.m.

The weekend was busy, cold, windy, fun, and How about that Superbowl! That was a good game, both teams giving it their all. The score was close. No serious injuries, fights, bad calls. Half time was O.K. but not that great. The commercials weren’t that great either. Even Budweiser Beer didn’t live up to their usual great commercials. Most important, the game was good

The gathering was at Jerry’s house. The dining table was loaded down with lots of goodies. We had macaroni salad, Hamburger sliders, chicken slider, ham and cheese sliders, chips, dips, a veggie tray, pickles, and I don’t remember what else. Later on we enjoyed birthday cake and ice cream. We all sang to Jerry as yesterday was his birthday. ‘Happy Not your birthday to you! ” Among his gifts was a subscription for a monthly delivery of ice cream. That was from his daughter. Since none of us knew about that we had just plain Vanilla ice cream to go with the yummy cake. I think it is the Hummingbird cake. Sooooooo good. It was a good afternoon. Tina and I came home to watch the game as we like to be hoe by dark. The headlights on the car aren’t as bright as they use to be.

Saturday we did errands. A trip to Home Depot where we purchased bird feeders and visited with everyone Tina worked with. It was fun. I wondered the store while she visited. I bought a dust mop type tool to dust the ceiling fans. They get so dusty and are had to dust, even with the swifter duster. This dust mop is great. The blades fit into the “o” space in the mop head and when you pull the mop head out, the dust comes with it and not flying all over the place.

Then we went to Hobby Lobby to get the squares to attach pictures and papers to scrapbook and other things of that nature. Love looking at all the pretty things in that store, but am happy to leave most of it there, just getting what I go in for. The next stop was Kroger’s. So many empty shelves and the prices were much higher then the previous week. I can’t see what their point is. I know they want everyone to buy their brand name product, and I also know that want to go to robot cashiers, but they seem to be working towards going without customers. I heard lots of complaints. It isn’t just Kroger;s, it is most stores. Especially chain stores. Maybe even ration stamps. After all, what goes around comes back around.

Quote of the day: “You know it’s time to throw in the towel when you’d fall apart completely if it weren’t for the static cling!

Have a great rest of you Valentines Day! Make it a special, hearts and flowers, champagne and candy, warm and fun day.

Blessings

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 2023

Friday, February 10, 2023 Sunny Cool Slight Breeze 56 Degrees 3:49 p.m.

A much cooler but beautiful day. The sun has been our for most of the day, making it feel warmer and bright. Sierra has loved laying in the sun and watching a few birds flit among the trees. The neighborhood is quiet with no dogs walking their masters or kids walking home from school. But then again, there was no school here today because of illness. I understand that the stomach flu is going around.

The big weekend has arrived. So many looking forward to the Superbowl with all the adds and the halftime show. I am not sure if people are waiting to see if the Eagles beat the Chiefs, or if the Chiefs beat the Eagles. Or, the halftime show with all of its glitz and glamor, good music and marching band, or The Adds! And then there is the dining room table loaded with all the good Superbowl foods. the chili, the sliders, the hamburgers, the veggie plate, the chips and dips, the cold-cuts, not to forget the soda pops, the beers, the flavored waters, coffee and tea (hot or iced). All the yummy foods with as many calories as a big thanksgiving dinner. If the right teem wins it will be a Thanksgiving feed. (:

Here, we will start by taking Sierra to the vet for a pedicure. That is if she will get in her carrier without a major fight. Then we have a couple of errands to run and a bit of shopping to do. Hopefully we will be home early and get a couple of projects done around here.

Sunday we are to go to Jerry’s to celebrate his birthday, the Superbowl and Valentines Day. I know that Finley, Lacy and Murphy are looking forward to that as they normally get a bite or two of some of the goodies that are on the table. Max will be there for his share also. They need to join in the celebrations as they are part of the family. Sierra will stay home as she isn’t interested in crowds, especially four legged ones.

Quote of the day: “You know the only people who are always sure about the proper way to raise children? Those who never had any.” My calendar

Have a great rest of your Friday. Have a safe, energetic, sociable, healthy and fun weekend. Enjoy the Superbowl and I hope your teem wins!

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 2023

Thursday, February 9, 2023 Partly Cloudy, Windy, Warm, 67 Degrees 4:15 p.m.

Today, we are under a high wind advisory. The gusts have been up to 50 miles an hour. I know it is windy but it hasn’t bothered me at all. Searchlight, Nevada has wind all the time and sometimes higher then that. Of course, the climate is different, the scenery is different and about all one gets in the high winds is dust and dirt.

I haven’t had a chance to read more in that book as yet but will this evening. I now know why this city is called the Secret City” as everything was a secret, when all came into being. I do know that the prophecy that God told Mr. Hendrix affected the whole world, and it started here with Manhattan, New York, and Nevada also playing a major part in it.

The news said that there are 6 counties in East Tennessee are closed due to illness. I guess the flu is going around and causing schools to close and even some businesses. Here, if you are ill you are told to stay home so as not to spread your germs around. That is pretty good. Just ask the school kids. They do have to make up the missed days and I am sure they don’t like that.

Quote of the day: ” CHURCH BULLETIN BLUNDERS: Don’t let worry kill you…….let the church help.” My calendar

Have a great rest of you day. Make it a super, terrific, ambitious, energetic and fun one.
