Monday, April 10, 2023 Sunny Breezy Clear 70 degrees 3:55 p.m.

A beautiful Spring day. The sun is shining brightly, the birds are singing, and puppies are out in their small yards playing. It is warm outside, no sweater needed. I should say no rain jacket needed. The weatherman said no rain until Sunday. We shall see.

Friday was windy, rainy, thunder storms, lightening, power flickering on and off. I stayed off the computer for the most part. Also no TV. Just being careful. A few have lost their computers and TV’s because of the storms. Also some roofs have gone and a couple of bad house fires. Some wicked weather. Tina and I went to the grocery store and the wind was so strong that it nearly blew Tina, myself and the grocery cart over. So many were trying to walk and having a terrible time. Fortunately our area didn’t receive any damage, but up the road a bit trees were blown down and branches all over the place.

Sunday, Easter, was beautiful. Sunshine and a breeze and 65 degrees. We went to Dottie’s for dinner. Jerry, Tammy, Noah and Tina had to participate in an Easter Egg Hunt. Dottie was up early, hiding eggs at 7:00 a.m. She prepared ham, potatoes, green beans and corn on the cob, and a black berry cobbler. We brought a macaroni salad, and deviled eggs. Tammy brought ice tea, an up-side-down cake, and a carrot cake I brought the prizes for the Easter Egg hunt. Because of the bad weather I didn’t get to go shop for them where I wanted to, so we went in to Habitat for America. I had spotted a radio, CD player (would play five CD’s) and wanted to get it. Well, it was gone. So I shopped for the prizes there. Every egg hunter got a prize. A pair of gloves, a picture frame, a nick-knack, a bird house decoration, a lantern, and they got their Easter baskets. All had a good time. You do know that no one can beat the good ‘ole Southern Cooking that we get back here.

When we got home, and were reclined in our recliners, watching TV, Sharon and Bill came over and brought us each a slice of carrot cake. We will have it tonight. We couldn’t ask for better neighbors then what we have here. We are so fortunate and blessed.

Today the landscaper crew came and re-did our flower bed. It is so pretty now, all clean and neat. We have new plants in it, A Gumbo White Azalea Evergreen and a Pink Azalea Evergreen, a Holly Bush and a White Daisy plant. So Pretty. They power washed the sidewalk and it looks wonderful. I didn’t realize that the color I kept seeing wasn’t the real color of it. A Dirty brown looking. It now looks like brand new cement. Our brick mailbox holder is not a pretty deep red rather then a black red. The white stuff Tina keep complaining about is a calcium build up and won’t come off. They worked on that but to no avail. They also did the front part of the roof of the car port. It looks so nice. We will hire them again as they are good, fair priced, and complete the job, clean up after themselves, and leave everything looking fresh and nice. Now I really have to get the windows washed!

Quote of the day: “It has long since come to my attention that people of accomplishment rarely sat back and let things happen to them. They went out and happened to things.” Leonardo DA Vinci

have a wonderful Monday. Make it an adventurous, profitable, charitable, kind and fun day.
