Monday, April 24, 2023 Sunny Cool Pretty 62 degrees 4:25 p.m.

A busy Monday after a rainy, cloudy, cold weekend. At least very chilly on Sunday. It was a busy weekend. We went grocery shopping, cleaned out the coat closet, fixed ham and beans, watched TV, and slept. A great weekend. The coat closet, which holds a multitude of items besides coats took the longest to clean. Now we have the trunk full of stuff to go to Karns. We even found things that went in the yard that we had forgotten about.

Today we had the landscapers back to move the bird feeder, fix one of the lights that doesn’t want to stay standing and wash the windows and pt the screens back. All looks so nice and neat and clean. Now to save up for some repairs to the roof. One thing at a time. By 2050 we should have it all done.

WE found out this morning we have wood bees. I had never heard of them but have seen these strange looking bumble bees hanging around here. I thought we had sawdust under the window but then thought that was impossible. So I asked what that yellow stuff was under the window and was told that we have wood bees. Another new thing about Tennessee. I like the birds better. WE will have to get an exterminator to get rid of them. they have built a nest there. We are going to evict them. Reason being damage to property and none payment of rent. Trespassing.

We watched Dr. Charles Stanley’s life story yesterday morning. It was very good, He left a great legacy and will be missed greatly. WE will still watching his Sunday morning program every Sunday even though they are reruns. That is the best start to Sunday mornings and the week.

Quote of the day: “I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation….I can do everything through Him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:12-13.” My calendar Also my favorite bible verse.

Have a great Monday. Make it a profitable, pleasant, purposeful and fun day.

FRIDAY, APRIL 21, 2021

Friday, April 21, 2021 Mostly cloudy Windy Warm Rain soon 78 Degrees 4:12 p.m.

With rain and thunderstorms expected tonight through tomorrow morning, the weather has been cooler then the past few days. Arthur, as in arthritis, is visiting us, letting us know that a storm is on the way. “Hello Tylenol”. The birds have been very active as has the squirrel. They will stay in their respective homes while the stormy weather is here. I believe they are doing their “grocery shopping” so as to be ready for the bad weather.

Yesterday we were gone all day long. Doctor appointments, shopping and visiting took up the day. The doctor appointments were spaced far enough apart, making it difficult to do to much at one time. But, we accomplished both shopping and appointments and a brief visit with Dottie. She said that Max wasn’t feeling well as all he wanted to do was lay on the couch and sleep. He is 14, I believe, and a toy poodle, so is an old man in doggie years. Other then that all there was well. The yard there is looking great, the grass is coming in nicely and the plants that they planted are looking healthy and growing.

After the first appointment yesterday we had breakfast at Cracker Barrell. The food wasn’t that great but shopping is usually good. I adopted a black dog holding a small lantern in his mouth. He is sitting out in the flower bed, guarding the flowers, birds, and squirrels. That is as close to a real dog as we are likely to get while living where there is no fenced yard. His re-homing fee was a bit much but then, we won’t have to buy food for him or take him to the vet, and he won’t chew up the tennis shoes, or make a mess on the carpet. He is well trained, sits and stays perfectly.

Quote of the day: “THEME SONGS FOR BIBLE CHARACTERS” 1. “Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head’, 2. Adam and Eve: “Strangers In Paradise”, 3. Moses: “There’s a Place for us.” 4. Job: “I’ve Got a Right to Sing the Blues”. My calendar.

Have a great rest of your Friday and a wonderful, safe, healthy, satisfying, and fun weekend.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 19, 2023

Wednesday. April 19, 2023 Sunny Breezy Warm Beautiful 82 Degrees 4:46 p.m.

Another beautiful spring day. The trees are acquiring their greenery for late spring and summer. It seems like one day the limbs are bare and the next day the limbs are all covered with beautiful green leaves and or flowers. The pretty, dainty white flowers on the dogwood tree are suddenly becoming green leaves.

Since tomorrow we will be gone al day I did the downstairs cleaning today. Friday I will do the upstairs. It is a bit easier but still takes time. Sierra is usually my helper and she isn’t much help. I want to get it done early as it is supposed to be another warm day on Friday, then drop to the 60’s on Saturday and 50’s on Sunday. We will have to go out and cover the plants Saturday, Sunday and Monday nights as we will be in a frost or freeze warning. The weatherman hasn’t made up his mind as to which yet. This should be the last one until late fall.

I rceived word today that my niece, Sonja and her husband have covid and are very sick with it. That stuff just won’t go away. Her sister was in the hospital for nearly three months with it. She is better now, home and slowly getting back to her old self. All there, in Texas, are a busy bunch so being ill isn’t on their agenda at all. Janice asked for prayers for both of them.

Quote of the day: ” Inside some of us is a thin person struggling to get out….but she can usually be sedated with a few pieces of chocolate cake.”

Have a great rest of your Hump Day. Make it enjoyable, entertaining, energetic, and fun.

TUESDAY, APRIL 18, 2023

Tuesday, April 18, 2023 Sunny Windy Nice Warm 77 Degrees 4:02 p.m.

The birds are flying and flitting all over the place. The squirrel is out scrounging for fallen bird seed and checking the whole yard out. Very busy. Spring is here and no rain until maybe Friday.

We were sad to hear that Dr. Charles Stanley passed away this morning. He will be missed terribly by many. He was a strong and solid man of God, with messages that were grounded in truth and knowledge about the bible and how we should live. His faith was unshakable and he passed that on through his messages.

When Tina gets home we are going to Ace Hardware and pick up our screens. I think that means that I will be washing windows tomorrow. They do need a good scrubbing. It will be nice to have the screens back up as i kind of feel like I am sitting in a gold fish bowl.. However, it makes watching the birds and squirrel much easier. Tammy and Jerry have a chipmunk that visits their back porch now. We haven’t seen ours yet. I hope he makes an appearance soon. I think he has a family, as he had a mate last year. They are so cute.

Sunday we celebrated Tammy’s birthday. Jerry BBQ-ed steaks and had baked potatoes, Parker house rolls, spinach salad with raspberries and walnuts and I can’t remember what all else. Of course birthday cake and ice cream. All was so good. After dinner we watched Net Flicks, Leigh Ann Morgan. she was good but better in person. We all laughed at all her funny stuff. Her husband gets the brunt of most of her jokes. Tammy got some nice gifts, and all things that she wanted.

Am sitting here watching some guy in an older car, parked out front. I think he is waiting for someone but am not sure who. I haven’t seen him or the car before. I think he is on his phone. My entertainment for the afternoon.

Quote of the day: “I’ve reached that point in life where the only thing I can exercise is caution!” My calendar.

He was waiting for the kids to get off the school bus. I think it was a she and not a he.

Have a great rest of your day. Make it a thrifty, tasty, terrific, thankful and fun day.
