Wednesday, June 21, 2023 Cloudy Breeze Cool Rainy 70 Degrees 4:42 p.m.

HAPPY FIRST DAY OF SUMMER! I have to say, it sure doesn’t feel like summer here. It is cool, a sweater feels good, and the air conditioner isn’t coming on at all. Today isn’t as muggy as yesterday. Yesterday the air was so heavy it weighed you down. I was out in it for about an hour and it sapped all the strength and breath out of me. The way the weather has been this spring I believe we will have an interesting summer, weather wise.

Today I made bread in the bred maker. It is still baking so don’t know how good it is or even if it turned out. I had everything but kosher salt. I used table salt, so will see if that makes a difference or not. Using the bread machine doesn’t heat up the house like the oven does, so I shall see how this goes.

With the rain there isn’t much going one around here. People aren’t walking their dogs and kids aren’t out playing. Even the birds and squirrels scurry out and grab some food and take off back to their home. The birds do the same. The hummingbirds are not afraid of the rain ans they are out and about, have nearly emptied the hummingbird feeder again.

Quote of the day: “Can it be that stressed is dessert spelled backwards?” My calendar

Have a great rest of your Wednesday. Make it a cheerful, sunny, warm, nice and fun day.

Monday, June 1, 2023 Rainy Cloudy Breezy Warm 70 Degrees 3:45 p.m.

We have had a very rainy day. Everything is dripping and wet. Right now the rain has stopped but will pop up again soon. This is the weather for the week according to the weatherman. We need the rain so it is O.K.. It is rather fun to watch the birdbath overflow. So far, no birds in for a bath.

I hope that you had a great weekend. Here, we did. Nothing spectacular, but good. We got the car back so did grocery shopping Saturday morning, then went to Knoxville and met Jerry for lunch. After a good lunch Tina and I did a couple of errands, then stopped at Dottie’s to see her new hair-do and visit for a bit. then to Jerry’s to visit and play with dogs. Dallas is growing like a weed and is so cute. She is getting along a bit better with the other three. I should say they are getting along better with her. Murphy is he pal there and will play with her, keep her and Finley apart and “peace in the family”. They have a shelf under their coffee table and Dallas likes to lay on that shelf. I think it is a cool spot and out of the other three’s way. Finley loves to play fetch, so where ever someone throws the ball, bone, whatever toy, she runs after it and who ever is in the way gets run over. Under the coffee table is a safe haven.

Dallas is now 14 weeks old and weighs 30 pounds. She is so pretty and so playful. Her fur is soft as down and she likes belly rubs. She attends doggie day care twice a week for half a day and I am sure she is an A student in the behavior department.

Sunday we stayed home all day. We watched Charles Stanley in the morning (church). then breakfast, and a few duties around here. Tina was out in the yard for a bit, filling bird feeders, watering and such. The yard looks nice and cheerful with the flowers. bill has some beautiful geraniums that liven the place up. He has pink and red. So pretty. Our one bush has a bloom or two on it to add to the beauty of the area. We binge watched N.C.I.S. in the afternoon and evening.

Quote of the day: “Experience is something you don’t get until after you need it.” My calendar.

Have a great rest of you Monday. Make it a productive, cool, enjoyable, safe and fun day.

FRIDAY, JUNE 16, 2023

Friday, June 16, 2023 Cloudy Windy Warm Might Rain 87 Degrees 4:22 p.m.

It’s Friday and the end of the work week. We have the car so who knows what we will be up to this weekend. But, the car was expensive so I doubt we will be doing much. I do know grocery shopping as Sierra is very low on cat food. She will need litter also. I think that will take care of shopping this week.

Today Charles followed me to Chuck’s Car Place and I left the car so they could get the passenger side window up. they put it down when they had it in for the water pump replacement. We then went to Hardee’s and had breakfast. Very Good. He needed to go to Home Depot so we went there, then back home. He asked if I would like to go meet Pamela for lunch and that sounded like fun so I said yes, and off we went to meet her at Texas Road House. Very good and fun. After that it was back to pick up the car and home. So nice to have a fun day and to have the car home. Tin will be able to drive herself to work and back next week. Monica will have more time at home before having to leave for work. A win win for both. Sierra will miss Monica’s visit each morning.

Now it is Quote time: “A woman marries a man expecting him to change, but he doesn’t. A man marries a woman expecting that she won’t change, and she does.” My calendar

Have a wonderful rest of your Friday and a fantastic safe, cheerful, adventurous, healthy and fun weekend.

Thursday, June 15, 2023 Partly Sunny Slight Breeze Warm 83 Degrees 6:39 p.m.

A buys, fun, interesting day. The biggest news is that we got the car back. The problem is that they put the passenger side window down and now we can’t get it up. They said that if we can’t get it up to bring it back either tomorrow or Monday. Tina has to work so I don’t know how that is going to work.

Today was bible study and it was very interesting. We did Louie Gigolo’s Don’t Let The Enemy Sit at Your Table. He is very good and very interesting. It is a lesson from the 23rd Psalm and he has broken it down into 12 lessons. I was pleased that it fit in with my devotional book, The Mystery Word Book. Fascinating.

Today ha been fun with Juli popping in and out, ans Sharon popping in. Then Charles here for the bible study. Visiting and sharing ideas and discussing the problem of getting people to come and do repairs, tree trimming, etc. They tend to be a show up once and then never again, or say they will be here and never show up. I am beginning to believe that calling a reparable company who is licensed is what needs to be done, even if it is a longer wait and more expensive. The Handy Men who advertise are good the first time and then never show their face again. Sharon called a company to come take down a large limb off the cedar tree and they were t be here this morning to give an estimate an time. They never called or showed up.

Now it is dinner time so had better do the daily quote: PRICELESS GIFT TO GIVE FOR FREE: The gift of listening. No interrupting, no daydreaming, no planning your responses. Just listen.” My Calendar

Have a great rest of your Thursday. Make it a cheerful, laughing, pleasant and fun day.
