Thursday, September 21, 2023 Partly Sunny Slight Breeze Warm 82 Degrees 4:17 p.m. The day has been busy and fun. Pamela came over this morning. We played Yahtzee and all three games we were close in score. It was fun. She had taken her puppy, Buttercup, to the vet to be spade and micro chipped. I am sure it isn’t a very happy puppy at the moment but will soon be back to acting like a puppy and into everything, chewing on everything and having a good time. Roxy probably enjoyed the puppy being gone for the day so she could just relax. They play well together and do get along but Roxy is a few years older then Buttercup and not quite as playful.

My mysteries from yesterday have been resolved. It was the internet having problems. I didn’t think of it until someone wanted to know if it was the internet? I hadn’t been on the computer so had not even thought of that. All is well today and I am very grateful. I still have to pay Prime but that will have to wait a few days.

After Pamela left I got the dishwasher going, did some rearagning of a couple of cupboards, changed a ribbon that went in a ceramic plate, cleaned the cat box, and all that sort of thing. There is always lots to do around here.

Jeff and Nanette will be here in a little over two weeks so want to have everything done and in order when they get here. This visit we want to be sure and take them to see a few things of interest around here. A trip to Nashville, and to Knoxville, and who knows where else. I know the Smokies for sure. They have been to Pigeon Ford and Gattelinburg so we won’t go there. Maybe Dollywood. We shall see.

Wednesday, September 20, 2023 Partly cloudy Breezy Quiet 79 Degrees 4:38 p.m.

Just two days until Fall! The weather is a bit cooler, in the low 80’s and high 70’s. I don’t think we will get rain for the rest of the week which means I need to water at least every other day. I think the birds are heading to their winter homes as I see very few now. I think I have seen only one hummingbird all day, and that was this morning. This weekend I will take down the hummingbird feeder unless I see one or two between now and then. Summer birds leave and hopefully winter birds move in.

Today we have had internet problems. This morning it was the TV. It kept going in and out and telling me firestick. Then I noticed that BLINK wasn’t working, Then I checked the Echo and it is now sort of working, has a long, bright yellow light at the bottom, goes all the way across the screen., So I pulled up my Amazon account and discovered that I hadn’t paid it. I kept thinking it was due but had no notice or bill so didn’t worry about it. It will be on the calendar for next year. So dumb!

Today I cleaned the dining room and got all the dust from the sanding last weekend. That stuff goes everywhere. So all shelves on the nick knack holders are dusted and polished, cups and saucers washed, dried and put back up, all the souvenir spoons shined and put back up, all the nick knacks washed and returned to their spots. All that takes time but sure looks nice. Table shined and chairs dusted and book case and buffets all looking good. Drawers cleaned out and neat.

Not it is dinner time and also time for Tina to get home.

have a great rest of your hump day. Make it a cheerful, enjoyable, pleasant and fun day.

September 19, 2023 Sunny Breezy A Few Fluffy Clouds 78 Degrees 4:29 p.m.

Another lovely day for the last week of summer. The weather lady said no rain the rest of this week so the plants need to be watered. Since Tina is allergic to the mosquitoes that hang around here, I will go out and water them. I use the watering can as there is only four that need watering and if I can just water them and not the rest of the ground it will keep the weeds down, I hope. Tyler, next door, keeps the weeds out and that helps a lot. He is back in school and school is priority in our book.

Today I have not been as ambitious as I wanted to be. I did get the floors done but didn’t take everything off the furniture and dust real well so guess that will wait until tomorrow. I did answer e-mails and talk on the phone quite a bit.

last night we watched a documentary on the Bee Gee’s . It was really good. They not only wrote their own music but also for Celine Dion and Barbara Streisand and other. They were good in what ever the going trend was in music. The program was excellent.

Monday, September 18, 2023 Sunny Slight Breeze Mild 77 Degrees 4:37 p.m.

A beautiful day today. So calm, warm , nice and only 4 more days until FALL. I guess if you get really technical about it it is five more days. It is just around the corner. The football games, the tailgate parties, the fall colors, the warm apple cider, the smell of good things cooking. Yes, fall is nearly here.

The sewing room is now mostly painted. Friday or Saturday we will go get the paint and finish the job. Tina has done most of the work in there. I have been the one who sweeps up all the stuff that they (her and Jerry) ripped off the walls, steam off the walls, and then sanded the walls. What a mess, and so noisy. My apologies to all my neighbors for disturbing their Saturday morning. I guess that includes Sierra who didn’t appreciate any of this at all. It really interrupted her daily 18 hours of napping. But the noisy part is over now and should be quiet for a month, then the new floors come in.

Yesterday Tina and I joined Jerry, Tammy and Noah at Texas Road House to wish Dottie a very Happy Birthday. It was a fun gathering as usual. I, sitting across from Dottie, so enjoyed the expressions on her face. I think she had a good time and I know she got some surprises. Since Dottie is the hamburger Queen, Tina and Jerry both had hamburgers. Dottie had steak and Ribs. She celebrated with going outside her comfort zone, food wise. Happy Birthday Dottie.

Our poor Dallas is having front leg problems and might be looking at surgery. She is such a sweet puppy and a very good girl, so really hate that she is having problems. She defiantly has growing pains.

Quote of the day: “When we pray in His name, God has promised to listen. All we have to do is…do it!” Maybe you can say a prayer for Dallas, as well as our country and everyone else. My Calendar

Have a great rest of your Monday. Make it a spectacular, adventurous, energetic, and fun day.
