Thursday, November 9, 2023 Cloudy Breezy Rain expected 72 Degrees 3:54 p.m.

Today has been a busy day here. Dillon has been here working on the room plus doing a few odd jobs that needed to be done. The weather isn’t cooperating as his mud didn’t get dry. Now we have fans on in that room to dry the mud. With rain expected later tonight and tomorrow it will take some doing to get it all dry and ready to sand and paint.

Pamela came over this morning to play games. We played Yahtzee. she beat me royally! Then we played Scrabble and she won that game also, but not by all that much. It was fun an I do enjoy playing games. While we were playing Bill came in and asked me to come over so he could show me the plants and what needed to be done and when while he is gone. Then Julie came over for a few minutes. So it made the morning fun and interesting.

I talked to Dottie this afternoon and she said that she is feeling much better. She woke up this morning without the sore throat and fever. She still has the cough but her nose isn’t running. She has no idea what brought all of that on so quickly and then left again so quickly. She took a COVID test and that came out negative so that is good. So much crud going around now. The goofy weather, hot, cold, hot, cold.

I haven’t heard how Dallas’s x-rays came out. I hope that they show her legs healed and she can go back to being a puppy again. She is so pretty, cute, fun and playful that having to be a patient and behave, be still and not romp and run and jump and play is very hard on an 8 month old puppy girl.

Wednesday, November 8, 2023 Sunny Windy Warm Beautiful 80 Degrees 3:57 p.m.

Another lovely fall day in East Tennessee. the wind is blowing and the leaves are falling. It is so pretty outside. the squirrel was out hunting for food and scampering around this morning. He is getting his winter coat so is a bit fluffier now then a month ago.

Today Dillon has got the room muded. He said that he will put the light coat of mud on tomorrow, sand it and then be ready to paint on Friday. I am so excited to see it done. Of course we can’t put the main shelves and such back in until the floors get put in. Who knows when that will be. I do know that Sierra will be very happy to have it all completed and she can go back to being the cat who has the whole house to herself.

The people with the windows came today and measured. They will have the windows done in three to five weeks. So, before Christmas. That will be another milestone I am looking forward to. It will be so nice to be able to open the windows without them falling out.

Other then that it has been a quiet day. I managed to get two stories written and sent off and cleaned out my e-mails. There was a ton of them. Tomorrow I have tend to the ones that need answering. Also have cards to get out and such. Always so much to do around here. It sure keeps me out of trouble.

Have a great rest of you Wednesday. Make it a busy, enjoyable, sociable, kind and fun day.

Tuesday, November 7, 2023 Sunny Warm Breezy Nice 78 Degrees 4:08 p.m.

A beautiful Fall Day! So lovely and warm outdoors but still cool indoors. Today I have seen several birds, all on the small side, and the woodpecker. Of course the dogs that belong to the people in the next building over were out for a run. It was their choice as the owners were not very happily chasing them. It is the French Bulldog, Fancy, who is the runner and enjoys the sport very much. The other tow dogs, both pits and very fun and just loves everybody, who also enjoyed the run with Fancy. She was in the lead. Terry, the owner, didn’t look very pleased with the morning exercise, nor having his commands ignored. One must get one’s exercise. (:

Today Dillon has been here working on the sewing room. We often have wondered what the room was used for. Bill, next door, said that Betty used it for storage. He didn’t know what others had used it for. Dillon said that he thought that it might of been a grow room. That is a scary thought. At any rate he is fixing all the weird vacant places and covering small square holes, etc, and making it look like a normal smallish room. It will be, once again, our craft room. He took the mirrored doors down a while back and that alone helped it a lot. Now he has put up two three foot walls and left a large entrance for us to be able to get most anything we want or need in there. He will have the room done by the weekend.

Tomorrow the man from the window place will be here to measure the upstairs windows. That will be another plus for this place. The thought of being able to open the windows and letting in fresh air is exciting. I think we should have them by Christmas if not sooner.

Last night, shortly after I had gone to sleep, I was wakened by a police siren and lights. A couple second after that one went by and another one went by. Then another one. I got up and looked out the window to see what was going on. I saw nothing but another two go by. Then four more, then one and then another and then two more. All with sirens blaring and fights flashing and speeding. So this morning we turned on the news and there was nothing. We still don’t know what all the sirens were about. it not only woke me but all the neighbors as well. Tina slept through it.

Quote of the day: “The King of creation wants us, his subjects, to be joyful and to love one another. In fact He has told us that His number one priority is love. His love for us, our love for Him and for others. so our assignment as heavenly royalty-in-training here on earth is, above all, to spread His love.” My calendar.

Have a wonderful rest of your Tuesday. Make it a special, enjoyable, adventurous, safe, healthy and fun day.

Monday, November 6, 2023 Sunny Clear Windy Warm 74 Degrees 4:06 p.m.

A new week and it looks like it will be a busy one. Tomorrow Dillon will be over to start work on the sewing room. I can’t wait to see it all completed. We have learned that the floors won’t be in until maybe January. The flooring is in a port in San Diego and they don’t know when it will make it out here. but at least the room will be completed except for the floor.

The end of last week was so busy. I didn’t get my blogs our. Thursday was fussing with the TV and X-Finity. Jerry finally came out and he worked on the hook up and talked to the tech on the phone. After two hours they decided to send out a tech. He came Friday and discovered that we had the wrong box and that was why it didn’t work. While that was going on Tammy called and said that they were having Noah’s birthday dinner at Texas Road House around 5:30 p.m. She said she would text Tina and see if she wanted to meet us there. Jerry would come and get me. Well, about that time the tech came and I called Jerry so he could be the one on the phone with him and tell him what had gone on with the TV. Before he hung up I said I guess I will see you in a bit. He said, “Oh, O.K. then a bit later he texted that he was on his way. We had a fun evening. It is always fun when Tammy, Jerry, Robbie, Dottie, Noah, Tina and I get together. Robbie has great stories, and everyone knows all the ballgames going on and who plays what position, etc. we had fried pickles and they were really good. Dottie had never tried them as they sound disgusting. Tin and I had them once in Vegas and didn’t like them at all. Here, they were very good, prepared totally different from the ones we had in Vegas. I love just listening. Food was good, too. Tammy brought a birthday cake and it was very good.

Saturday Tina, Dottie and I went shopping. Tina did most of the shopping and Dottie and I did most of the looking. We went to Jo Ann’s and had a great time looking at all the Christmas stuff they have. Some beautiful things that would be fun to have if one knew where to put them. We had lunch at a place called Corner 16, a bar and grill. very good food and a fun atmosphere. After a trip to Walmart and Trader Joe’s we took Dottie home and came on home ourselves.

Sunday we just hung around the house. Tina went and got the correct box for the TV. I made a quick trip into Walmart looking for the same thing I was looking fore in Knoxville but they didn’t have it there either. Google told me wrong I believe. We played a game of Scatagories and that was fun.

Now the TV in the back room is working and Sierra is so happy as she has laps to sit in once again. We are back in the recliners. Life is goo,
