Monday, January 8, 2023 Mostly Cloudy Cold Breezy 48 Degrees 3:44 p.m.
A very quiet, cold, windy, and a bit rainy weekend. We stayed home all weekend!! That almost never happens so was quite different. Since it was cold and windy outside it was very nice to stay indoors where it was warm and not windy. As the rest of the country is experiencing the winter weather, so are we. Though, we haven’t had snow here as yet.
Today has been exciting! About lunch time, noonish, I had finished sweeping and mopping the kitchen floor, so came out to the living room to work a bit on the computer. I looked out the window and there was a police car parked in front. Also a dark gray SUV and a light or white SUV. I looked up the street and there was a group of people gathered around the mailbox brick square, and another police car just on the other side of the drive way. In the drive way was a gray sedan with what looked like a yellow strip above the passenger side window. I watched for a while, then called Julie and told her she shouldn’t of moved as there was action across the driveway and i couldn’t see it all from my place. She said that she was sorry as we both could of had a great view from her place. So we chatted and I watched until Bill came home. I hung up as Bill was knocking on my door. He wanted to know what was going on? I said, “Well, you just drove in and the police stopped you. What did they say?” He replied, ” This is an active investigation. Move on.” T which I said, “Now we both know.” So he left and went home. I kept watching and talking to Julie. As I watched I saw them take the tall, 20-ish young man out of there, in handcuffs. He was put in the back of a police car. A few minutes later a younger lady, dressed in green shirt or jacket, blue jeans and a baseball cap went to the light gray SUV and sat down. I couldn’t see if she was doing anything. Then after a bit she got back out and joined the group at the mailbox square. In a bit another man came out and went to the same SUV, got in the back seat and came out with blue rubber gloves. He handed the lady a pair and they left going towards the townhouse across the driveway. Soon another of the group went to the other SUV and got out some paperwork, and went back to the mailbox square. Another man went to the light gray SUV and got out gloves and something else and headed towards the townhouse. After about half an hour the first guy came out with two garbage bags, appearing quite heavy and about half to three quarters of the way full. The bags were placed in the light gray SUV. They all milled around the mailbox square for a bit longer, then the one police officer and his patrol car left. There was a few more trips to and from cars, then the man who lives in that town house came into view. I believe he was in the car parked in the driveway. They talked for several minutes, and he was handed what looked like a shoulder strap purse or handbag. They talked some more. then the two SUVs left, then one of the police cars and after a few minutes the other left. The car in the driveway had left earlier but but am not sure who was driving it. Finally the whole group was gone and the quiet was returned to the neighborhood. Julie and I believe the young man who was put in handcuffs was dealing drugs. There is always a lot of traffic going in and out of there.
About all I can say that was enough excitement for the day. Now I am curious as to what else goes on over there. It seems like there are several people living there and it is only a two bedroom place. And they have three Pitts and no fenced in yard for them to run and play in. They get to go out and run around here a bit but neither of the guys picks up the poop when they go in our yard, Bill’s yard, Charles’s yard, Julie’s yard or anyone else’s yard. When the one girl takes them out, she picke’s it up and always caries a bag to put it in.
