Wednesday, March 20, 2024 Sunny Warm 2nd day of spring, 69 Degrees. 4:17 p.m.
March came in like a lion and went out pretty much the same way. Yesterday was sunny but windy and cold. Today we have just a slight breeze and it is lovely outside. That warm sun feels so good. The next rain is due in Friday. Hopefully Saturday is dry as we need to put down more small rocks in the flowerbed. It is beginning to look so nice out there. We want to plant some pansies in the one large pot. That will give the place some more color.
Yesterday was a busy day. I spent a lot of the day on the phone, then had work on the files; still spring cleaning the file drawer. I did clean out the fridge and that always takes time. The day sped by and all of a sudden Tina walked in the door. How time flies when one is having fun?!
Today I have done a lot of odds and ends. I planted the amaryllis, shredded the pile of papers from the file drawer files, got my “craft” ready for tonight; (I am taking colored pencils and a coloring book. I don’t know how much table space there will be, nor how many other people will be there and how much room they will need for whatever their crafts are. ), Did a load of laundry, hung up a couple of pictures, and stuff like that. Now am ready for this evening.
One can tell spring is here because of all the lawns being mowed. It seems like from 8:00 in the morning until 8:00 at night the sound of lawnmowers is heard. Ours was mowed Monday. the guy on the corner is out mowing his right now. A lawn mowing company just left from across the street. Here lawn mowing, tree trimming, and yard care are a very profitable businesses. The personnel doing each of these tasks are adults with trailer hauling their equipment. Not kids like when my kids were growing up, or even when I was growing up. I do have to admit that moat lawns are not flat, and have dips and holes, trees, stumps, etc so it isn’t an easy job. Occasionally one mowing will tip over and then have to get himself (or herself) up and the mower up , then continue. Some have gotten seriously hurt when the mower lands on top of them.
Quote of the day: “With each new experience of letting God be in control, we gain courage and reinforcement for daring to do it again and again..” Gloria Gather, 1912…, American writer, singer and song writer.
Have a great rest of your Wednesday. Make it a adventurous, exciting, productive, pleasant and fun day.
