Wednesday, March 13, 2024 Sunny Warm Breezy Nice 73 Degrees 4:32 p.m.

Another nice day, and so much appreciated. Sierra has spent most of the day in the sun and looking out either the front door or the back door. We have the glass “screen” doors. She enjoys the front one the most as she gets to see the lizards who come up close. This week it has been the doves who have ventured closer to the door. Also the squirrel seems to thing the sidewalk in front of the door is for his to hop on as he passes, stops and looks, then hops on. I guess it is a run at some points.

Tonight is crafts at church. People interested in doing crafts can bring whatever they are working on and work on it there while visiting with others, exchanging ideas, learning new things, and sharing their crafts and knowledge. I am working on a small scrapbook of post cards and other greeting cards that were received by my mother and her sisters. They date back to 1909. Back when you could mail a penny postcard for a penny. They are very interesting and very pretty. None of them say “made by Hallmark”. I have several old pictures that I will put with the cards so that it will have a bit more meaning to those who look and read in the future. It will be part of the Kringlen Family Tree which I am working on, slowly. I have four family trees that I am working on, The Gardner’s, The Kringle’s, The Walters and the Weavers. It is very slow going, but very interesting.

Last evening we went to the grocery store for items to complete the St. Patties Day dinner. I am so thankful that we went yesterday because there wasn’t much there to choose from. Neither Tina or I saw any corned beef. I bought ours a month ago and put it in the freezer. The carrots were there but only about 8. I took six of them. The selection of potatoes of any kind other then yams and sweet potatoes, was slim. We got a bag of red skinned “new” potatoes. I hope enough for my meal. I did get two loafs of soda bread. It looks good so we shall see. We will have Key Lime pie for desert. I though of making a true Irish desert, but the ingredients in most of them was a bit on the tipsy side. owning a liqueur store would of helped with the “spirits”. I don’t know who sells grough.

Quote of the day: “Our feelings do not affect God’s facts; They may blow up, like clouds, and cover the eternal things that we do most truly believe. We may not see the shining of the promises-but they still shine! [His strength] is not for one moment less because of our human weakness.” Amy Carmichael,, 1867 – 1951Irish Missionary to India, Poet.

Have a perfect Wednesday. Make it a exciting, productive, enjoyable and fun day.

Tuesday, March 12, 2024 Sunny Nice, Breezy Clear 63 Degrees 2:53 p.m.

I need to go grocery shopping for our St. Patties Day dinner so thought I should get the blog done before I hit the grocery store. I have my corned beef in the freezer, and I broke out the St. Patties Day sofa pillow and have it on the couch. It is nice to get a head start. I am thinking I should put the winter fox up and bring down the lamb. Spring is right around the corner.

The weather is pretty right now, but the weatherman said rain come Friday. I am hoping that it is dry on Saturday as we need to get the flowerbed looking like humans live here. It needs the winter froze and dead to be removed and fresh plants , rocks, whatever to replace it. Both Tina and I like the idea of rock rather then mulch as the weeds grow through the mulch even with the plastic underneath. And the mulch get blown away, dragged away, washed away. We shall see what flowers will be out there this year. Maybe pansies. The Dogwood tree is budding so am eager for it to bloom. We would like to plant a butterfly bush. We shall see.

I also have to make birthday cards as Wednesday is son Joe-ee’s birthday. He will be 61. He is doing O.K but seems to be regressing more each month. Dementia is not a easy disease for anyone…for the person who has it or their family and friends.

There isn’t much going on around here today. The dog, a black standard poodle who lives on the corner is out having a great time with his master. They are playing ball. They have a fenced in yard so he really gets to run and chase that ball. I am thinking that a fenced in area isn’t a bad idea. It would keep the dogs that aren’t on leashes from doing their business in our yard.

Quote of the day: “You cannot hope to build a better world without improving the individuals. To that end each of us must work for her own improvement and at the same time share a general responsibility for all humanity, our particular duty being to aid those to whom we think we can be most useful.” Marie Curie 1867 – 1934, Polish-Born French physicist.

Have a great rest of your Tuesday. Make it a productive, pleasant, active, and fun day.

MONDAY, MARCH 11, 2024

Monday. March 11, 2024 Sunny, Breezy Clear Nice, 59 Degrees 4:53 p.m.

A beautiful Monday to start the week off. The weekend was cold, rainy and just down right blustery. Winter is still here, for another eight days! My daughter, who said we were staying home all day Saturday, had to go to Hobby Lobby, so off we went to Hobby Lobby. There she bought a book, “The Watchman’s Daughter”. I bought a few thing to help with my picture/family tree project. We then went to Calhoun’s for lunch. We had Fish and Chips and it was good. Then to Pet Smart looking for Sierra’s favorite cat food. There is none to be had. She now is liking Science Diet. After that Home! It was raining, and I mean raining. I don’t know what happened to the “few stray showers” the weatherman was talking about. It rained most of the day and night and a bit on Sunday.

Sunday was church, then home to finish a couple of projects and just relax and watch TV. Jerry called and said that they might be having something Sunday afternoon. We said great, that would be fun and nice. Later on Dottie called and said that Jerry and Tammy had food on and were celebrating Melissa’s birthday as she was there. So off we went. It was a great afternoon. Melissa was tired but fine. The people were all fine, but the dogs were fantastic! Finley was busy bringing her toys toe each of us to throw and play tug-of-war with. Lacy was happy to sit next to you, or on your lap for gentle petting’s, Murphy sat on my lap until he had to go make sure the others were O.K. as they went out doors. He is the security dog, all 6 pounds of him. Dallas was so fun, soft and furry and loving to be petted and talked to. Sarge is so handsome, Tall, Dark and Handsome. Not so much on the dark. he has a “hurt leg” so decided that Tina needed to hold his paw as he needed comforting. He was so funny. Both he and Dallas loved laying on our feet and once they both laid there together. It was a bit heavy and very funny. Those two play, wrestle and go a mile a minute so one has to make sure one is out of their way when they get going. they don’t care what is in their way as they just mow over it be it person or thing. So much fun.

The food was so good. We had BBQ ribs, pulled pork, slaw, pot salad, baked beans and key lime pie. Very yummy. I love key lime pie, and of course, ribs. When food is served the furry family members are locked in the Man Cave. They let all know about how mistreated they were being, then left and went outdoors. They would of really enjoyed dining with us.

Be content with who your are, and don’t just put on airs. God’s strong hand is on you. He’ll promote you at the right time. Live carefree before God; He is most careful with you. 1 Peter 5: 6-7.

Have a great rest of you Monday. Make it a fantastically cheerful, productive , adventurous, and fun day.

Tuesday, March 5, 2024 Cloudy Warmish/Coolish Rain Expected 70 Degrees 4:14 p.m.

It is March. Yesterday was beautiful. Nice, Sunny, Warm and just lane Pretty. Today it is cloudy and rain is expected on and off this afternoon through Wednesday afternoon, last I heard. So far we just have clouds and a slight breeze. That is fine with me.

Jerry and Tammy have been very busy laying sod in their back yard. He wanted to get it done before the rain started so worked all weekend and again last evening.Dottie said that they got it all done. I imagine that it is gorgeous. We would like to do that out front here but am not sure it would do much good, We have lots of clover with our bit of grass. I just know that all five of their furry family members will enjoy the lush green grass to play to play on and nap on. However, it might end Sarge and Dallas’s beauty mud baths. Their soft as silk skin might suffer a bit. I know their long, beautiful fun will appreciate not having to have a spa bubble bath daily.(if not oftener).

Yesterday was doctor’s visits. Tina had to have a follow up with the cardio doctor, and I had to get my toe nails trimmed. I learned that everything has been up graded in their computer program. So they needed my insurance cards, ID card, make sure my address and phone number were correct. Fine. That was no a problem. So I am called back, and am in the chair. The nurse comes in and asks me a few dozen more questions, then said, “Smile” and took my picture. When I asked why? She said that it is now required for all patients. So I go pick Tina up at her doctor’s office. She had the same experience.

Earlier in the day, yesterday, I went to check my bank account. I couldn’t get in my account. After it told me I failed three times, that I needed to call the bank. It was about time for Tina to arrive so gave that up for another time. When we got home she said I must of done something wrong, so had me try again. She called the bank and was told that even though we have the same savings account , I needed to get my own account number and pass word. I will have to do that tomorrow. The only thing it will change is how I get in to our accounts. So goes life in this modern day of Technology.
