Wednesday, May 22, 2024 Partly Sunny Breezy Warm 85 Degrees 3:44 p.m.

Another glorious almost summer day. Flags blowing in the breeze, birds chirping and squirrels scampering around. even the chipmunk has been out and scurrying her and there around the yard. The dogs have been out walking their masters, and kids are returning home from school. I think this is the last week for the schools around here.

Last evening, as we sat watching TV, I felt like it was really warm . I got up and went to stand under the vent as I could hear that the AC was going. The air was hot!. Pretty soon, Tina commented that it sure seemed warm in the room. she got up and checked the thermostat. It said 78 degrees, I believe. Well, she turned it off. I said that I would call someone in the morning. We went upstairs to bed. I finally thought that opening the windows might help a little so I opened mine, then went in and told her to open hers as there was a breeze and it would help.

The lamp in the spare room, where I go to do my bible study, said that it was 83 in there. A bit to warm for my taste, but I did my studying and reading, then went in my bedroom. Sierra was trying to get in the window, so I moved the vanity stool over there, put the folded bedspread and extra throw on it , giving her a safe and easy way to get up there and sit and look out the window while enjoying the breeze. She seemed to of enjoyed that a lot a she was there when I went to sleep. Tina said that she didn’t think she came in her room as she didn’t wake up to her trying to get in the blinds. I left my blind up halfway so I didn’t have to worry about that. One must keep the furry family member happy.

The gentleman from the Air Conditioning company will be here between 10 and 11 in the morning. I am hoping that it isn’t a major problem, like a new Unit, but it will be what it will be. The list grows with each passing week. But so do the accomplishments. No complaints.

Tuesday, May 21, 2024 Sunny Breezy Muggy Very Warm 87 Degrees 3:52 p.m.

How is everyone this beautiful May day?

Spring here seems like summer. I think I could say that it is hot outside and be right. And it is muggy! But, it isn’t raining and that is a plus. We shouldn’t get rain until, maybe, Thursday, and then it will be thunder storms and showers through the weekend. MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND! As far as I know we aren’t going to far this weekend. We have an eye doctor appointment Saturday morning and that is about all I know of at the moment. Since the rest of the USA is going to be on the road or in the air, staying close to home seems like a good idea. We might go play with the dogs and that is a fun way to celebrate.

Friday I spent the day in Knoxville with Dottie. She went to her therapy appointment. Afterwards we went to Tammy’s a she was home, cleaning house. At least trying to. The dogs were not helping much but they were having fun. there was a luscious mud muddle in the back yard, and Sarge and Dallas just loved playing in it. They are going on 2 years old, so are practically in their “terrible twos”. Tammy shampooed the living room rug. Dallas and Sarge came bouncing in and headed for the living room. She caught them and was herding them back in the family room (where there is tile floors) when we came in. So the first thing we did was pet dogs. Meanwhile, Tammy got a bucket and filled it half full of water. Then Sarge got to go in the kitchen and get his paws washed and dried. He didn’t mind that at all, was very good, handing her one paw at a time.paws. Afterwards he went i the living room and laid down in front of the big fan that is just for him. Now it was Dallas’s turn to get her paws washed. She doesn’t like her feet messed with so she wasn’t as corroborative. When that ordeal was over she came in the living room and got petted, told each of us how badly she had been treated, and she needed to be petted and catered to. After a bit Sarge decided it was play time so started a wrestling match with Dallas. The entertainment was on, just stay out of the way.,

Now the little dogs are wise to all the mud and paw washing so they stay in the house or, if they have to, stay on the thick, green grass and out of the mud. They get their paws dried but that is much better then getting them washed and then dried. They also stay out of the big dogs way when they are wrestling. If Murphy thinks that Sarge is hurting Dallas he will step in and try to break it up. Sarge weights close to 100 pounds and Murphy weights maybe 10. Murphy is the boss.

After we left there we went to Nix and J’s for lunch. We had the best hamburgers! They are so good, and the restaurant is always busy clear up to past closing time. The owners are so nice, friendly, and funny. They keep everyone’s drinks filled and smiles on their faces. WE go their often as it is the very best, and close to Dottie’s and to Tammy and Jerry’s. It is close to where Tina works but they only have a half hour lunch and the time to get waited on and get your lunch wouldn’t work for them. And parking is a problem as there usually isn’t one handy. The place is packed.

After a great lunch we went back to Dottie and watched TV. Max, her dog, likes the METV channel, so we watched it and old westerns. I thoroughly enjoy them. Tina came to get me and had to wait until a show was over before we could leave. She enjoys Max and the feeling is mutual so the played and didn’t seem to mind that a show has to be finished before I was ready to leave.

THURSDAY. MAY 16, 2024

Thursday, May 16, 2024 Sunny Breezy Warm Pretty 78 Degrees 2:52 p.m.

I am enjoying the sunny afternoon. The birds have been singing up a storm, making Sierra stop a nap and check what was going on outside. So nice to see the sun with no puddles around. We must enjoy it while it lasts. Rain predicted for tomorrow.

A quiet day around here. I have been working out a good spot for the Electric Elliptical Trainer. So far I haven’t found the perfect spot. I am about to decide that is will be going under the craft table in the craft room or under Tina’s desk in the living room. The cord is short so there isn’t much choice of how to place it for watching TV. My puzzle for the day.

I just saw a tiny lizard crawl by on the walk in front of the door. It sure was a tiny little thing. Sierra missed that. About a month ago I saw a larger, fat lizard. I don’t know where he came from but since I haven’t seen him again I believe he moved on down the road. I hope.

We have a lot of Rock Doves around here. there are a pair that can be found in our yard all day, just walking back and forth, looking for worms, seeds, etc. They don’t seem to bother anything, even the other birds. I haven’t seen where their nest is, but am thinking it might be up in the cedar tree, o in one of the neighbor’s bushes.

Like I said, not much going on around here today. I shall now go finish my search for a home for the Trainer, then dinner.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 15, 2024

Wednesday, May 15, 2024 Cloudy, Possible Rain Showers Cool 63 Degrees 11:05 a.m.

While lying in bed, reading a good Guide Post mystery book last night, the Thunder rolled! The lightening lit up the room! I quickly placed the book mark in the book, placed the book and glasses on the night stand, lowered the bed, turned off the light and snuggled down to enjoy the storm. I learned last week that when thunder roars, to lower the bed. The power went off and I was stuck in an almost sitting position, and the remote doesn’t work without power.

This morning there isn’t to much activity outside in our front yard. There are two squirrels who are playing and hunting for the bird seed the birds knock out of the bird feeders. The chipmunk is scurrying around hunting his breakfast in nearly the same area as the squirrels. He is so busy and tiny, and is as much fun to watch as the squirrels. The birds are very busy singing, chirping and getting their food for the morning..They have a lot to sing and talk about this morning. Shadow has taken his master for a walk already.

The laundry got completed yesterday so today is just the normal household duties. This evening is Crafts at church. I am prepared as I will do the same thing this evening that I did last week and the week before. WE only meet for an hour so there isn’t much time to sit anything up and work on it, before you have to pack it away again. I think we mostly visit as no one gets a great deal done on their projects. It is fun to visit and enjoy each others company for an hour. I heard that we have a new lady joining our group this evening so that will be nice. We currently have three regular and it would be nice to have a few more.

I am thinking Spanish Rice for dinner, with a veggie and salad. That sounds simple and nourishing. There will be leftovers for Tina to take to work tomorrow. Tomorrow night I may fix drumsticks in the air fryer. Friday I am thinking salmon patties. I don’t plan for the weekend as I never know what we are doing.

Have a great Wednesday. Make it a cheerful, kind, positive and fun day.
