A beautiful summer day in East Tennessee. Mostly cloudy, rain showers expected with thunder storms due around 5:00 p.m. The wind is blowing and the flags are billowing. That thunder storm might arrive a bit early. The temperature is 86 degrees and the humidity is around 75 %.

The weekend is over. It was an adventurous, exciting, entertaining, exercising, educational, and fun weekend. Tammy and her parents picked Tina and I up about 9:30 Saturday morning. We headed towards Nashville and were doing just fine when we started slowing down as Tammy spotted two long lines of break lights in front of us. The slowdown turned to into a full stop! After sitting there for about twenty minutes, we started inching forward, very slowly. We would go a foot, maybe two, then stop. We chatted. Then Tammy said that there was road rage behind us. A Green mustang had it’s emergency lights on and was trying to go up the emergency lane. A SUV and a Black pickup truck were trying to stop the mustang. I believe the SUV wanted to stop the mustang and the pickup was trying to keep it from doing so. Tammy got over in the left hand lane to get out of their way just in case the rage intensified. Soon we were able to keep moving, slowly, then at full speed. We saw where a vehicle had come over from the est bound lanes that were up on a mountain, through the guard rails, down the hill, through the guard rails across out west bound lanes of traffic, through the guard rails and over through the trees. We never saw the vehicle(s) as by the time we got there all evidence was cleaned up except the tracks and broken guard rails.

It was smooth sailing from there on out. We stopped at a Zackb’s (sp) for lunch and then headed out again. We settled on touring the Country Music museum that afternoon. What an interesting place that was. So many country start, Bluegrass stars, Movie with Country start in them, two rooms with walls lined six row deep with gold and platinum all around the area… room sort of. The trophies were in the area where the star was shown. Most had several grammys, best this and best that, what ever. Very impressive. There were the artists, the song writers, the directors,….There were groups, bands, orchestras, anyone who had anything to so with the Country Music Business. It all was so very impressive. Taking pictures is a bit hard because of all their lights on everything. I hope to have some ready to share soon.

Quote of the day: “NOTHING IN LIFE IS TO BE FEARED. IT IS ONLY TO BE UNDERSTOOD.” Marie Curie, 1867 1934. Polish-born French Physicist. O the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! Romans 11:33

The Nashville trip is to be continued in Tuesday’s edition of my blog.

Have a great rest of your Monday. Make it a positive, productive, pleasant, kind, and fun day.

The weekend is here. The clouds are here. The rain might arrive later tonight. Right now the time is 5:27 p.m. and the temperature is 83 degrees. The humidity is 53 % so not bad at all. There is a slight breeze and that makes it feel nice outdoors.

The grass is looking a little bit better. We are to have rain showers all next week, so that should help, I hope. We have three daises left on the plant, so hope that more come up soon. They are so pretty. I do hope that the trees start looking better. They are still a bit droopy. If it rains all weekend and next week that should help them. The rain will be showers, not a steady downpour they say.

Al Roker said that Las Vegas will be 114 on Sunday. It is July in the desert, but that is way to hot. Death Valley has got to be 130 or more. That is one place no one wants to go in the summer. Scottie’s Castle is a great place to visit in the winter, or late fall, early spring. I believe they have that road open again. It was closed for a long time due to a washout a few years ago. The road to the Castle itself is narrow, one car at a time so maybe they fixed that problem also.

Well, did you all survive the big Microsoft IT Glitch? That made for a very interesting and trying day for a whole bunch of people, world wide. Our lives are all tied up in the computers, and we really don’t know what to do without them. Our money in the banks and Wall Street, Our medical records at the doctors or the hospitals. The groceries on the shelves, the children’s school records, the air planes, trains, buses..street lights, cars, most everything. Television and Radios. Refrigerators! Credit cards and bill paying. Hm-mm! This glitch was caused by the company that protects all the Microsoft computers and a few other companies.

Now to fix dinner and get prepared for our trip to Nashville tomorrow. That is so exciting to think about. Dottie is looking forward to seeing all the Country Music Stars. I think that will be at the Country Music Museum. That would be my guess. I doubt that they roam the streets and hang out just to meet the public. We shall see. It would be nice.

Have a great weekend. Enjoy the relaxing summer weather. Do the fun things, swimming, picnicking, hiking, boating, reading, BBQ-ING, going on vacation, exploring, and having fun. That is what summer is for.

Well, we shall see how this goes today. I haven’t used the computer since I tried it yesterday. I hope that this works out well. So complicated.

We had a good day, rain wise. We have had several showers and the plants look a bit happier. The birds were back checking the bird feeders and The robin caught a worm. That is so nice. He is happy. I hope we see a few more tomorrow. Also the squirrel and chipmunk. You know, the animal neighbors.

It wasn’t nearly as hot today, about 86 degrees, but it is very muggy, due to the rain. It is now 5:16 p.m. and 86 degrees. Much better then 96 and muggy. We have a good breeze and a bit of sunshine, with clouds most everywhere. Maybe more rain pretty soon.

Today I did laundry and that is about all . I moved the car to get in the shed, then put it back closer to the shed. Tina should have more room for her Tesla. I know that the car has to move before I can get in the shed or the tool box as I managed to get it real close without touching the shed. It only took about 5 tries.

Crafts last evening was fun. the knitters and the crocheters were there busy talking while needles flew. Tina is now doing the crocheting. I colored. I guess I am going to have to take up one or the other to fit in. The main topic was the tie blankets. I couldn’t believe a couple of the ladies didn’t know how to make them. One of the ladies said that she remember them from the 1980s’ and 1990s as they were the rage for people to make. Boy, do I feel old. We made them when I had the Community Center in Searchlight , and they were made for the people at the centers for people taking chemo, etc. The centers were so thankful for them as were the patients. These we will be making for the Children’s hospital in Knoxville.

Have a wonderful rest of your Thursday. Make it a cheerful, eventful, adventurous, and fun day.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 17, 2024

The rain came, for about 10 minutes. We certainly need much more then that but are thankful for what we get. I heard thunder just a few minutes ago but no rain came with that announcement. Maybe later. The weatherman said this will go on for a week or so. That will be fine. Now the sun is shining again.

I am making this very short as the computer or the internet is interfering. I will see what the problem is and try again tomorrow. It is 5:15 p.m. and 82 Degrees.
