A beautiful, Sunny, and breezy day. the humidity is way down, @ 60 %, and the temperature at 3:50 p.m. is 85 Degrees. Very nice and comfortable. I would of liked rain, but that part of the weather story went to the north east and missed us. Maybe next week we will get the rain. We most defiantly need it.. There is so many brown spots on the grass and leaves turning brown on some of the trees. We are in a drought .

I received an add on my cell phone last evening, saying I should ad this app and I wouldn’t get any adds or spam etc ever again. It would only cost $1.99 a month. I should act now as this special wouldn’t last long. So I forward it to Jerry to check out and make sure it wasn’t a spam. It did sound to good to be true. I haven’t heard back from him as yet. So many people wanting money, legally or not legally.

Tonight is Crafts at church. Tina is taking all the tie blanket kits she bought Sunday at Joanne’s with us. Joanne’s has them on sale right now. These blankets will be for the children’s hospital in Knoxville. It is a great project for the crafts group and for a worthy cause. Those children can certainly use them. They will be for the smaller children as they are the ones who need them. One of the ladies is making small caps for the children there, and another is making scarves for the older ones, I think. The caps are being knitted and the scarves are being done on a loom, knitted and crochets. I guess I will help tie but don’t know what else I can make for these children as I doubt scrap-booking is a need for there. Maybe I can make cards to go with the blankets. ????????

I texted my granddaughter early this morning, like 5:00 a.m., thanking her for the birthday pictures of my great granddaughter who turned 11 yesterday. I was up at 4:30 and down here for coffee by 5:00. I read my e-mails and never gave it a thought as to how early it was . I do need to send her an apology. I am aware of the people who live on the west coast, but don’t think about those who live on the east coast.

Dinner is grilled salmon with asparagus so have to end this and get with it. I want to have dinner on the table when Tina gets home so we can eat and get the dishes done before we go to crafts. it is a good plan but seldom works out.

Partly Cloudy Very Humid (89%) Breezy 92 Degrees 3:05 p.m.

Here, as with the rest of the country, it is summer time and the temperatures want to prove it. While our temperatures don’t look nearly as high as Nevada and Arizona, the humidity brings up the heat index to over 100 degrees. I believe they said ours would feel like 105 degrees. I went outside and I believe them. Here, the air is very heavy. Inside, the air is wonderful, cool and comfy! I’m an indoor girl today!

The 4th of July around our neighborhood was comparatively quiet. We heard a few fire crackers and some of the fireworks but not many and defiantly not bad. We went to Jerry’s and enjoyed a great meal, watched the dogs put on a show for us. They are so funny, loving and just plain great dogs. They were warm also, so spent a lot of time in front of fans or laying on the air conditioning vents. Sierra does the same thing here . Tammy and Jerry put out fans for the big dogs and they all but crawl in them.

Here, Saturday morning as we were sitting, watching the birds and enjoying our morning coffee, Tina was discussing her small desk and thinking that she would like one that was “L” shaped. I suggested going to Karns as I had seen a couple there when I went to donate a bag of stuff. I always go in and look around just for the fun of it. Anyhow, we got dressed and headed to Karns. There was one there ,and she bought it. We brought it home and proceeded to put it together. After getting everything out of the box, we called Charles. Shortly he came over. I felt bad as he had a finger that didn’t feel good, and he didn’t fee; to good either. But he proceeded to help Tina put it together. The directions were great but confusing, so they managed to get all the screws in the wrong place. At that point Charles went home and Tina sat down to think about taking them all out. That she did, then went to the TV room and there was the end of the desk assembling.

Sunday morning she was up bright and early and hard at the task of putting the desk together. She worked on it until time to get ready for church, and had the two main parts together. After church, we picked up hamburgers and went to Jerry and Tammy’s. They had been busy laying new flooring in the dining room and living room, so were ready for a break and lunch. Tina told them that she had bought a desk at Karns and thought it was brand new as it was stilled in it’s original packaging. She told him how far she had gotten with putting it together and was saving the rest for him when he came over one day. She can’t figure out where a couple parts go, or rather how they go. That was the weekend.

Now, it is already Tuesday and close to time for Tina to get off work and home. She will be ready as she doesn’t care to much for the heat. Dinner is leftovers and that is easy. Nothing like ice water to drink and ice cream for desert. Dinner is rice, beets, kabasa and a salad.

Have a great rest of your Tuesday. Make it a fantastic, cheerful, cool, and fun day.

Wednesday, July 3, 2024 Partly Sunny Breezy Hot 92 Degrees 4:43 p.m.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY EVE! I hope you are planning on celebrating safely, sanely and having lots of fun while staying cool..at the beach, in the pool, at the river, at the lake, at the park, or in your own back yard. I hope you enjoy whatever you are doing to celebrate the 248th year of our Independence. Al tho it isn’t perfect, it is the best country on earth.

Today will be my last blog for a few days. I am not sure how long as the system is being revamped. My blog will return as soon as possible so keep checking your computer to see if I am back knocking at your “door”.
Not an exciting day around here. The heat keeps everyone inside and not out walking their dogs or kids out playing ,etc. I do miss all the entertainment of Albert and his dog, Shadow playing tug-a-war up and down the street. And all the other little ones with their humans.

The flags are out, including ours. It looks so nice to see them fluttering in the breeze. As for festivities in our city/town, there will be the high school band playing at one of the park prior to the fireworks which will start at 9:45 p.m. We won’t go as Tina has to work on Friday. It gets to be to late and she (and I) get up to early. But we will watch some of it on TV and that will be just fine.

I understand that school starts again July 22, and to me that is early. But I know that they have had several days off due to weather this past school year, so maybe it is right on schedule. I only go by the school buses that pick up the kids here. Way back when, or as they say now, Back In The Day, when I was going to school, our first day of school was the day after Labor Day. Our last day of school for the year was the Friday before Memorial Day. Now, it seems like they start earlier, end later but have tons of day off in between. We got Nevada Day off, which is Halloween. We got Thanksgiving day and the day after off. We got the week between Christmas and New Years. I don’t remember getting any time off between New Years and the end of school, but I am sure we got a couple of days here and there, probably Teacher’s work days. Times have changed.

Quote of the day: “Isn’t it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive-it’s such an interesting world. It wouldn’t be half so interesting if we knew all about everything.” Lucy Maud Montgomery, 1874 – 1942. Canadian Writer.

Have a great rest of your hump day. And have a fantastic 4th of July. Make both safe, pleasurable, adventurous and fun.

See you on the computer soon.

Blessings

Tuesday, July 2, 2024 Mostly Sunny Hot Breezy Quiet 92 Degrees 4: 57 p.m.

Happy Taco Tuesday! We are having spaghetti and meat balls, and, of course, Garlic toast. It just sounded like a good thing to put in the crock pot. And, it should be good for tow days of meals. I am trying not to use the oven, so am doing everything I can in the crockpot. My friend Emily gives me good ideas quite often. And I am much appreciative of that. She makes a lot of her meals in the crockpot as her place is tiny,

Tina is just getting home from work. Sierra, who is sitting on the desk with me, will be taking off and heading to the back door as soon as the car gets in the carport. She really looks forward to Tina arriving home, or most any company who appreciates her warm welcoming. She tells all as she is a chatterbox.

Tina is out putting the small flags up along the street on our property. That is something that most everyone in this area does. One place across the street has a big flag that covers a lot of territory, then three smaller ones. All are arranged very tastefully. Bill, nest door, has his up all the time. He gets a new one every three years or so as they do wear out. Mostly by the sun, wind and rain. We have the star flag on the front door and on the garden flag thing. This year I do believe we need to be very patriotic. Let God Bless America and Let Freedom Ring.

Dinner time. That means it is quote time: “Life is what we make it, always has been, always will be.” Grandma Moses (Anna Mary Robertson) 1860 – 1961, American Artist.

What happens when we live God’s way? He brings gifts into our lives….things like affection for others, exuberance about life, serenity. We develop a willingness to stick with things, a sense of compassion in the heart, and a conviction that a basic holiness permeates things and people. Galatians 5:22-23.

Have a great rest of your Tuesday. Make it a great, pleasant, purposeful, positive and fun day.
