Cloudy, Humid, Muggy, Breezy, Warm, 88 Degrees, 4:02 p.m. 50% chance of Thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. Maybe?

Friday was a busy day. I was trying to get everything done as I knew we would be gone all day Saturday and wasn’t sure what Sunday would be like other then church. i didn’t get the blog in Friday as it got late quick. I finally said that Monday was only two days away and I would get it in then.

There was 6 of us that went to the DAV, (Disabled American Veterans) and made blankets. The ladies there were working on Victory quilts, and they have done some very pretty ones. One lady does all her quilts by hand, and they are lovely. They served lunch, and it was lovely. The ladies were friendly, kind and fun. We ended up making 15 tie blankets/ We learned how to put a slit above the tie part and fold the ties through the slit. So nice, easier and they looks much nicer. We will be doing blankets Wednesday evening from 6:30 until 7:30, and then again at the church on Saturday, the 28th, from 9:00 until 3:00 p.m. i sure hope a lot of people show up and we can get many, many more made. Right now, while I am typing this, I have blankets washing.!

Doing blankets, unless one is smart and sits while cutting, and tying, is hard on the back and shoulders, and possibly the hands. I was standing and bending an stretching so my back hurt a bit but my shoulders and arms were the worst. You do know that it is much quicker to reach as far down the 8′ table a possible to straighten something, then to walk down to that spot and straiten it. Or to lean on the table while tying. After 6 hours of doing that the arms and shoulders get tired. I do know better. Tina did the walking, lifting as well as bending and stretching. Her complaint was her back, but it doesn’t take much at all for her to feel her back going out. And no, she doesn’t quit doing things until it goes out and she is barely able to move.

Sunday we got up at 4:00 a.m., for what reason I don’t know. i woke up and couldn’t go back to sleep, so finally got up. Sierra thought it a great idea so romped and played, just to make sure I was up. I got ready and went downstairs to find Tina was already down there and had the coffee going. I was being quiet so that I wouldn’t wake her. Anyhow we visited, then decided to get dressed and go to Panera’s for breakfast (Their Garden Ray, Tomato, avocado Toast is wonderful), then do what grocery shopping we had to do before church. We accomplished that, came home, put the groceries away, got dressed for church and went there. As usual, it was very good. After church we came home, Tina got the garbage out as the garbage man comes Monday Mornings, changed clothes and hit her recliner. I changed clothes and fixed a bite of lunch, and hit my recliner. The rest of the day was mostly spent there until bedtime. Sierra spent the rest of her day going from one lap to the other, stopping for a bite of food or a drink in between time.

Today, I had a lunch date with the Bible Study girls. It was at a Mexican restaurant, and just O.K. After leaving there I drove around until I found the post office. I forgot it was down farther, so saw a few neighborhoods. Finally got there, went in and mailed my package. I had to stand in line for half an hour. There was only one lady working and a line of people waiting for her attention. I only had a book to mail, so not to bad. The lady in front of me had 10 big manila envelopes to mail and that took time as each had to be weighed, and all that goes with it. The post office is very short handed and no one want to work there. I would but my days of standing on my feet for 8 to 10 hours are gone. It is work and long hours. It is good pay though. Maybe one day a week off.

Quote of the day: What constitutes success? She has achieved success who has lived well; laughed often and loved much; who has gained the respect of intelligent people and the love of little children; who has filled her niche and accomplished her task; who has left the world better than she found it; who has always looked for the best in others and given the best she had.” Bessie Anderson Stanley, ? – 1952. Have a great rest of your Monday. Make it a pleasant, productive, energetic, safe, and fun day.

Partly cloudy, the sun has plays hide and seek with the clouds most of the day. It was cloudy this morning, then about 9:00 it started the game of hide and seek. Not much of a breeze, and not much activity around here today. The time is 5:06 p.m. and the temperature is 83 degrees. We are getting closer to the 12 hour daylight and 12 hour darkness. Fall arrives Sunday morning. The leaves are already starting to turn. However, due to the cloud cover we have missed seeing the harvest moon.

Dinner this evening is going to be hamburgers and a green tossed salad. That is simple enough and fits in with Tina’s diet nicely. This will be an easy dinner with an easy cleanup afterwards. I love the Ninja Grill as it is so easy to clean after grilling, and grills beautifully. I did steaks the other night and they came out perfect.

The topic, according to the local news, is kids and cell phones in school. Some think that they should have them in class in case they need to call their parents. Some think they should be banned from class rooms. Collected at the door and returned after school. Then the thought of A1 being used by the students without guidelines, rules, is another topic. Is the child doing the work> Is A1 doing the work for the child? is the child learning? The thought from the teachers and board members is that A1 could be beneficial if used properly, with rules and guidelines. Those have to be set in place prior to the kids using A1. Some parents say that their children are using A1 now, but as research and with the parent their with them. I am so thankful that I don’t have a child in school.

Quote of the day: “God who is Goodness and Truth is also Beauty. It is this innate human and divine longing, found in the company of goodness and truth, that is able to recognize and leap up at beauty and enjoy and know that all is beautiful, that there is not one speck of beauty under the sun that does not mirror back the beauty of God.” Roberta Bondi, Contemporary American Educator, Writer.

Sunny, slight breeze, a few white clouds, warm, 81 degrees 5:13 p.m. A beautiful day. It started our overcast and a bit foggy, then gradually turned into a beautiful sunny afternoon. The weatherperson said no rain until next week sometime. That is sad as we do need the rain badly. But, we will be very thankful for what little bit we got and whatever we get in the future.

Tonight is Crafts so am hoping several show up and we get several blankets done. I have a tote and a garbage bag full of tie blankets, the tote is ones to be made and the bag is fill of ones made and washed and ready to go. The back of the SUV is still full of blanket kits waiting for loving hands to put them together. All are welcome to come and tie. A couple of thousand miles might make you late, but prayers are always welcome.

It has been a quiet day, I spent a large part of the day working on a sign in sheet for tonight. I use to have a program that did all of that but I don’t seem to have it now. So after trying to make the computer do what I wanted I ended up taking one that it had and would let me change, printing it , taking my whiteout tape and covering the three lines I didn’t want, then printing it again. It looks pretty good. I will keep working on learning how to do this the proper way. I have to admit , I found things on this computer that I have never seen before. Not that any of them helped me.

Sierra is laying on the arm of the couch, looking at Bill watering. She watches from a distance as I think she thinks he will squirt her or something. Never mind that there is a wall with windows between him and his hose and her. You can tell how exciting things are here.

Quote of the day: ‘Women don’t want a divided life…They recognize that career is not enough; they want to be interconnected with people. They want to keep growing throughout their lives, adjusting as needed to different circumstances. They want to live a balanced life.” Mary Ellen Ashcroft, 1952 – American Fiction writer.

Cloudy, maybe a shower or two, still, 74 Degrees 3:51 p.m.

Monday sped away and I didn’t get to my blog. I had bible study in the morning and, believe me, it is going to be a good one. We will meet every other Monday and it lasts an hour and a half to two hours. We are studying Revelation. There is a lot of research gone into this study as well as though and prayers. I believe it will be a great experience. This group has been studying Revelation for 2 years and is now starting chapter 10 or 11. It is an in dept study.

Sunday we celebrated Dottie’s birthday with a cookout at Jerry and Tammy’s. Tammy had something else planned but the weather didn’t cooperate so plans changed to great hamburgers, French Fries, salad and yummy hummingbird birthday cake. It was so fun and food was yummy as always. and the company is always good. Dottie’s granddaughter was there so that made the event even better. Of course the dogs were there to help with the celebration. They are always sociable, fun, and entertaining.

Saturday Bonnie came over and we made two blankets. I should say her and Tina made two blankets. I ironed. Now I need to order Faultless starch, (the old fashion cooked style) so I can do my doilies and the angles that need washing and starching. They are so pretty but have been put is for a couple of years as they need cleaning. I thought that a cleaners would do that but they don’t. I finally checked with Amazon and they have the starch so that is my next project. It will be nice to have them done and up for Christmas.

Yesterday, besides the bible study, I took everything off the counters and thoroughly cleaned them. Sunday evening Tina dropped a glass and it smashed into a million pieces. We did out best to clean it all up Sunday evening, but then I wanted to make sure we got it all. I found several peaces that flew behind things and were very small. So we now have a very clean counter as well as everything on the counter is freshly washed, wiped, cleaned and sparkling. It looks nice. Now to keep it that way.

Have a great rest of your Tuesday. Make it a cheerful, productive, active, enjoyable and fun day.
