A bitter cold morning but a sunny and tolerable afternoon. We nearly made it to 45 degrees this afternoon, but started at 18 degrees. The weather person says that tomorrow will be worse, temperature wise as another front is moving in. It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas is on its way.
This evening we have crafts so have been busy getting things ready for that. We won’t meet again until January, 2025. I believe then we will start making blankets for the nursing homes and such. We have been asked to do so. That will be a worthwhile project. I believe that will be the 2nd Wednesday evening as we can’t get to it before all the Christmas stuff is put away until next November Good Friday………, November 28th, 2025.
The good holiday programs are coming on now, so I believe we will be watching them. Last night was the Country Music Christmas show. It was good. Tonight is the tree lighting in New York City, with a ton of stars at that, so we will watch it after we get home. There seems to be something special on every evening up until Christmas Eve. That is not saying we will watch them all.
Today there have been several news people and politicians taking a look at the damage from the September Hurricane Helene, and all the damage that it caused so many people in North Carolina and Here in Tennessee. There are still so many without homes or the necessities that they need. There are still places in North Carolina that can’t be reached. They are working with pack animals to reach so man people, taking food, medicine, tents, clothes, etc. There are barrels all over the stores and shopping centers asking for food, clothes, blankets, tents, and toys for the children. Several places and people have donated tiny houses for so many, especially the elderly. Tents and campers, etc. All are needed and appreciated, especially with the frigged weather we are having now. I feel so bad for all going through this here and then all in California who are living through the aftermath of the devastating fires. So many people, companies, etc. have donated money, labor, whatever they could. People who are builders, plumbers, construction workers , electricians, etc. are needed badly and so many have stepped up. WE have donated coats, clothes, food and money, and wish we had the ability to be physically able to help.
Quote of the day: “One of the most wonderful things about knowing God is that there’s always so much more to know, so much more to discover. Just when we least expect it, He intrudes into our neat and tidy notions about who he is and how He works.” Joni Eareckson Tada, 1949 – American Writer, Speaker.
Time to get with the dinner thing. Have a great rest of your Wednesday. Make it a productive, cheerful, adventurous and fun one.
Blessings
