A windy, partly cloudy, warm day. It is 77 degrees outdoors and 70 degrees indoors. The weatherman said to be ware of high winds and lots of rain for tonight and tomorrow and Sunday morning. There is the possibility of tornadoes. It sounds like a very active weather weekend. The wind is here and the clouds are rolling in, so we shall see.

Not a great lot of news today. I have accomplished a lot of little things. You know, the things that one sets aside to do when there is more time or whatever the reason is. So I did accomplish getting the snack basket cleaned out and put on the baking cupboard cart. I put up another hook for the large hot pad mittens. I cleaned out a bunch of recipes that were stacked on the side of that cabinet. Just things like that. I was going to go sweep all the leaves out of the carport but since the wind is blowing I thought better of that idea. Then I chatted with Dottie. Now it is getting close to dinner time, Leftovers from last night. That turned out to be a great meal. My version of Beef tips and noodles. It was going to be beef stew, but we had a big salad instead the night before last, so last night I added sour cream and a rue to thicken the gravy and boiled some noodles, Hence Beef Tips and noodles with biscuits and a veggie. I have to fix a veggie for tonight.

Wah’s House Hold Hints: Stains on a sink or bathtub: can be removed with a paste made of hydrogen peroxide and cream of tarter.

Have a great weekend. Make it a safe, fun, interesting, adventurous and relaxing one. Enjoy all the St, Patties Day activities.

A mostly cloudy day. Right now the sun is shining through the clouds and the temperature is 70 degrees, It was 49 when we got downstairs at 5:00 this morning. I do believe spring is right around the corner. It should officially start a week from today.

Yesterday went by fast and I am not sure what all I accomplished, but know that I was busy. A trip to the post office is always a fun time. I normally turn at the wrong place so tour the town before finally arriving at my destination. Fortunately there wasn’t a line so was in and out within five minutes. I did manage to hit most of the red lights along the way.

Our post office is nice and set up so that they can handle three people at a time. They are well stocked with all the mailing materials one would need, and willing to help with tape, zip codes, and, of course, stamps.

Today I have done laundry, put a ton of stuff away that was waiting for a home, and answered Guideposts request for me to pay a bill that I had paid in September. I am so thankful that I write on the part of the bill I keep, the date, amount, check number so I have no problem finding it again. I also know how to retrieve the cancelled check. This is the tenth time I have had to do this so wrote them a letter and asked them what the problem was with their accounting/book keeping/billing department. I, again told them to cancel my account and that I had paid for every book I had bought and had cancelled checks to prove it. I did business with them several years ago and cancelled then for the same reason.

Tonight is beef tips and noodles, spinach, and biscuits. Last night was grilled chicken Ceaser salad. I am waiting for Sunday and corned beef and cabbage. That is one of my favorite dinners. Jerry, Tammy, Dottie are invited as well as Robbie Keith and Noah if they want to come. Robbie Keith is having some medical problems so may not feel up to coming out. Noah might have to work. there are times that school and employment get in the way of fun times. There is always a place at the table for both of them.

Wah’s House Hold Hints: To clean furry, fluffy toys: Give them a bath in white corn meal. Rub the meal all over the toy. While absorbing the dirt the meal will turn gray or brown, discolored. when the toy is cleaned, shake toy to get all the meal off.

Have a great rest of your Thursday. Make it a cheerful, positive, kind, energetic, and fun day.

A windy, cool but warm 73 degrees, sunny March day. The house stays cool, and it is a cool wind if one is out in the shade. However, it is so nice to see the sunshine. We had a bit of it yesterday, but the weekend was more on the cloudy side with the wind blowing. I sometimes think that Nevada told the wind to share its blowing with Tennessee as this has been a windy month so far. Some places have had major winds with a lot of damage so am thankful that we are doing just fine with no damage.

Yesterday it got late way before I was ready. So I didn’t get my blog in among other things I didn’t accomplish. Today has been a bit better, but have spent a lot of the day on the phone or doing e-mails. I still have a couple of people to give my new cell phone number to. I am slowly working towards that goal. Just in case I didn’t share it with you folks, here it is: 865-307-2339.

Have been working on Joe-ee’s birthday present. It is hard to know what he wants or can use. WE got him shirts. Today I talked to his nurse who said that he could use suspenders so might get a pair of them off to him in the near future. She said that the past month or so he has complained of his legs hurting and has come close to falling. They have called the doctor today but haven’t had any response so far. She said that there is a few “bugs” going around there also so it could be a cold or something on that order. It isn’t constant and doesn’t seem to be debilitating as he walks a lot, and stays active. I guess being still isn’t something he is good at. He walks in the building as going out on his own doesn’t happen.

Tonight we are having salmon, rice and a veggie. Nothing major, heavy, or fancy. Maybe a cookie for desert. Girl Scout Cookie that is. It is a good day for a light supper.

Wah’s House Hold Hints: To Treat Mildew: To remove fix a solution of 2/3 cup strong liquid cleaner, 1/3 cup laundry detergent, 1 quart household bleach and 3 quarts warm water.

Have a great rest of you day. Make it a thrifty, practical, pleasant and fun one.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 5, 2025

Another windy, rainy, chilly March day in Tennessee. It is 48 degrees at 3:40 p.m. It was 50 degrees when we got up this morning, so I do believe the thermostat is heading in the wrong direction. They did mention snow and much colder temps in the next day or two. This up and down temperatures really play havoc with us all. I think it is the cause of the colds and such that keep going around. The Kleenex company is enjoying all this “good” weather, I’m sure.

Nothing very exciting going on around here today. I did the laundry, cleaned out a couple of drawers, etc. Sierra isn’t a fan of all the wind as she has been antsy on and off today. The wind has had some pretty good gusts which has sent things flying against the door and side of the house. Even I have heard it, and felt it. But, the oak tree is still standing so all is good.

Tonight is Crafts so an early dinner. We are having Chicken Ceaser Salad. That is easy and fast, The chicken I cooked yesterday so all that is needed is to cut it up and toss it in the salad. We can have garlic toast with it, maybe. She goes to the dentist tomorrow morning and to PT so won’t be wanting to much in the way of carbs.

Tennessee has had an out crop of brush fires this week and part of last week. I think they are all either out or under control. They are calling them wild fires. Several counties have had them and have had to evacuate people. So far one county had one structure burned down and another county had two structures burn down. LVMPD is now using robot dogs in their work of fighting crime. I just saw a video of one and it is fascinating. However, the person who designed the dog needs art lessons. It doesn’t really look like a German Shepard, more like something out of a kids animated movie. But I am sure it can and will do its job perfectly. I do believe that it is needed everywhere now. It seems we hear of more officers being shot and killed in the line of duty now.

Wha’s House Hold Hints: “Refreshing Carpets” To restore freshness to carpets – wipe them with a cloth or sponge which has been dipped in a strong salt water solution and wring out to remove excess moisture.”

have a great rest of your Hump day. Make it a cheerful, positive, productive, and fun day,
