Another great July day. The temperature is 92 degrees, the clouds are moving in, there is a very slight breeze, and there is probably a thunderstorm close by, getting ready to visit us. Rain is welcome as things dry out in the heat, even though it is high humidity. Back here lawn mowing and lawn care are a big business, one that people make careers out of. The lawns get mowed at least twice a month, and sometimes more. One kid I know has 20 yards and charges $20.00 per yard per mow.

Today I went to PT this morning. They gave me another new stretch so worked on that a bit. So far so good. I do them at home and that helps a lot. The instructors are nice and make sure that you are able to do each exercise without hurting yourself. They expect it to be uncomfortable, and even hurt some, but not to the point of damage of what ever part of the body they are trying to get back working. I am noticing the difference since I have been going, two and a half weeks.

After PT I went to the Christian Women’s luncheon with Julie. It was very nice, the speaker was funny and good, and a lady was there that makes quilts out of tee shirts. She said that it wasn’t easy but it was what she started on and she only makes quilts out of tee shirts, nothing else, no other kind. A lady came and asked her to make her a tee shirt quilt for a California King. She passed that job on to another quilter as her machine arm wasn’t big enough for that. Thanks to Charlene I knew what she was talking about. The quilts that she brought to show were very pretty but also very dark. One was a military one made with the military, army green, gray, dark blue, and black. those colors are dark. The other one was motorcycle club tee shirts and it was also dark, black and some “silver”. Very well done, very pretty.

Lunch was baked chicken, potatoes, corn, green salad, macaroni and cheese cake . All very good. A great two hours with a bunch of fun and nice ladies.

Wah’s House Hold Hints; ” To remove a mildew stain: Pre-treat as soon as possible with detergent. Wash. If any stain remains, sponge with lemon juice and salt. Dry in the sun. Wash, using hottest water, detergent and bleach safe for fabric. Mildew is very hard to remove; treat promptly.”

Have a great rest of your Tuesday. Make it a positive, pleasant, productive, and fun rest of your day.

Blessings

MONDAY, JULY 7, 2025

the three day holiday has flew by and now it is back to a normal Monday. the laundry is done and dinner is planned. Weather is hot with thunder storms being a possible afternoon event. We are at 93 degrees at 3:23 on the sunny afternoon. There is a breeze that helps some. Inside all is nice and comfortable. Thank God for Air Conditioning/

Friday the 4th was a fun gathering at Jerry and Tammy’s home. their house was comfortable while it was hot outside. I think Tammy, her mom and her friend Beckie went in the pool after we left. Neither Tina or I wanted to risk the sun burn that we normally get when we go in the water so we came home and watched “Independence day”, Tina’s every 4th must do. it is a good movie and I do enjoy watching it, every year.

The food at Jerry’s was, potato salad, macaroni salad, chicken, peppers, onions on a stick, bean dip, black beans, corn, and I can’t remember what else dip or salad. it was good and I would like the recipe for that. Tina want she bean dip recipe. Desert was a dish that Tammy made that was very good. Jerry had apple pie that he requested. Tina brought a Lemon, blueberry cornbread that she bought at First Watch for everyone to try. We each got a small slice as it wasn’t very big, but, it is good. I came home stuffed! Of course we enjoyed each and all of the dogs. They are so fun. Tina sat on the couch and all five dog piled on top of her. It was great!

Saturday Tina had to work so I messed around the house, doing odds and ends. Jerry came and worked on the computer and my latest problem. We thought that it was solved but apparently not. I guess it will need another solution. I tried it again this afternoon as the power went out for a bit. That didn’t help it either.

Sunday Tina woke up with a headache. She finally got rid of it when she found her glasses and started wearing them. I was tired so did didn’t mind watching church at home. Dottie called and asked if we would like to come for dinner as she had fresh green beans. Of course we said yes. She fixed green beans, boiled potatoes, and mac and cheese. Tammy brought meat loaf. It all was very good. I do love the southern Home Cooking!

Wha’s House Hold Hints” Wah’s Norwegian bit of wisdom: Do we live to eat? Or do we Eat to Live?

” We may live without conscience, or live without a heart, We may live without music, poetry and art. We may live without friends and live without books, But, civilized men cannot live without cook.”

Have a great rest of your Monday. Make it productive, cool, enjoyable and fun!

Blessings!

THURSDAY, JULY 3, 2025

Happy 4th of July eve. Traffic is flowing on the Oak Ridge Turnpike, more or less steady. There are so many heading out for the 4th of July long weekend. Weather here is cooperating as we have bright sunshine, a few puffy, white clouds drifting around, and it is warm, 88 degrees at 3:54 p.m. Gas prices are down a bit also and I am sure that helps with most cars.

As for us, Tina isn’t home from work as yet. She isn’t off work for another 4 minutes. Then she is coming home. It is warm so we are having grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner. Her request. I am fine with that as one pan to wash is great with me. She isn’t a summer fan so going out is not one of her things nor is eating real meals. M, I enjoy a well balanced meal at least once a day, and don’t mind the heat unless it gets in the upper 90’s and the humidity matches it. Then I melt into a sickly, whining, mess. so, summers are interesting around here.

Tomorrow we are supposed to go to Jerry’s for a gathering. For us, me, it depends on how I feel and how I can get around as I had PT today and they worked me pretty good. I was great when I got home Monday, but Tuesday I could hardly move. EVERYTHING HURT! So we shall see how it goes. Tina would like to postpone the 4th of July until maybe October when it is much cooler. I think that is about the time she is having back surgery. So, we will keep the 4of of July on July 4th, and enjoy it. I am sure that it will be more fun then back surgery.

She just called and said that she would be home around 5 as they just got slammed at work and she is staying to help out. She does get the overtime, and they get slammed a lot. Maybe more workers are needed.

Wah’s House Hold Hints: “If soup tastes very salty, a raw piece of potato placed in the pot will absorb it.”

have a great rest of your Thirsty Thursday. Maker it a safe, healthy, kind and fun day.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY ! MAKE IT FUN, SAFE, FRIENDLY, KIND, HELPFUL, AND BLESSED!

TUESDAY, JULY 1, 2025

WOW! Half of the year 2025 is history and we are working on the second half of the year. So far, it has been a very busy, interesting, scary, stormy, political, and educational year. It will be interesting to see what the second half of this year brings.

Well, at the moment the sun is shining but there are very dark, gray clouds looming close by. We had a brief shower which is appreciated, but sure would like a good soaking shower as the ground, which was so soaked a couple of weeks ago, is not dry and wanting a good drink. the grass is showing bits of brown here and there. Here, most every place waits for rain to water their grass and such as normally there is rain once or twice a week and that is enough to keep it green and pretty. I think climate change has a bit to do with the rain not sticking to that schedule. it is 4:13 pm and 79 degrees. Much better then 99 like last week.

Are you all ready for the 4th of July? Traveling looks like it is in full swing with highways blocked and planes full, passengers filling the terminals. Everyone seems to be going someplace. We are staying home, going to Jerry’s on Friday, but that is like 25 minutes away. With all the traffic and crowds on the roads, beaches, lakes, etc, home and/or Jerry’s sounds like a pretty good place to be.

This is Wednesday morning, July 2nd, 2025

I got sidetracked yesterday by a long distance call with a friend, then Tina came home with dinner. So I am continuing this morning, and this may be it for the day as I have plumbers coming this afternoon. One never knows how long that will take.

Yesterday I had physical therapy and today I am feeling it, all over. as I progress with the therapy the more muscles and joints ache and hurt. It will be a slow going day, but I will get things done . Vacuuming both upstairs and downstairs is a must. Sierra has left clumps of fur all over the floors in each room. Ir is summer and she is getting rid of the excess fur. Tina has brushed her and brushed her, but she still sheds like crazy. So, me and the vacuum will be busy for awhile.

I have to remove all things from the powder room vanity as the plumber will be installing a new facet. Then in the master bath the toilet is in need of either a new flow valve or something. It wants to fill to the brim when flushed, then slowly gets back to its normal level. We shall see what the verdict is on that one. I need to make sure that there is nothing in his way so he is able to work in there. That room is postage size. A busy day for sure

Wah’s House old Hints: ” For help with hay fever season, combine 2 teaspoons of honey and 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water. Drink twice a day during the season. Using honey made by bees who have their hives locally is the biggest help.”

Have a great Wednesday. Make it a positive, cheerful, productive and fun day.

Blessings.
