I can honestly say that this week has gone by swiftly. It has been busy. On the other hand, The weather has been fantastic!!! Much cooler, sunshine, blue skies, temps in the 50’s when we wake up and in the 70’s when we go to bed. I know that it won’t last but am sure enjoying it while it is here. I do hope that it holds through the long weekend and everyone has an enjoyable holiday.

We are getting a new roof. All the shingles and stuff was delivered this afternoon and they will start working on it either tomorrow or Thursday . Both Bill and Sharon and us are getting the roofs and gutters. All are needed badly. It will be nice to have it done and not worrying about new leaks and the gutters not working properly.

Saturday Tina and I cleaned and re-arranged the living room. It looks so much better now, now so crowded and cramped. Today, with the lovely weather, I opened the window and let some fresh air in. Sierra loves the open window. She has been so entertained with the hummingbirds that come and eat from the flowers.

Sunday we were greeters at the 10:30 service, so went to First Watch for breakfast prior to church. I so enjoy that place. I had the smoked salmon and roasted vegetable Frittata. It is so good. It came with a dish of fresh fruit and served with ciabatta toast. Tina had steel cut oatmeal with bananas and blueberries. And a carrot cake muffin. She loves that meal also.

After that we did a bit of shopping, hitting Kroger’s for the needed groceries. We looked through TJ Max, Home Goods, and Ross, I got a pair of slippers, and a set of hand towels for the kitchen. I don’t remember what Tina got but not much either. Went home and crashed, enjoyed snoozing through a few TV programs.

Monday it was much cooler so had a bit more energy the rest of the week has been gloriously pleasant. Now we are getting ready to go to Crafts and Bible Study. I am going to have to go through some more of Wah’s stuff and find more House Hold Hints to add to this. In the meantime, have a great rest of your Wednesday. Make it a cheerful, adventurous, educational, fun and great rest of your day.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 20, 2025

S hot but beautiful morning and most of the afternoon. We just got a thunderstorm so that helped to cool it off a bit. It has gone from 90 degrees to 87 so that is a nice drop. I do believe we will be getting a bit more rain. the flowers, grass and trees love it.

Today I have been busy working on my cell phone and pictures. The phone decided to take all the ones I had in the cloud and put them back on the phone, this phones pictures plus ones from 2020. I now need to go through and delete a whole bunch of stuff. I have instructions hoe to build a bookcase, recipeis that I sent to, I think, my granddaughter, all sorts of things besides pictures, and a lot of them aren’t ones I need to keep, like a picture of a product I wanted to remember to get at the store, in 2020.

The rain is back. We need it, or at least the flowers need it. I am supposed to go to Crafts tonight but if it is raining I wont go. I hate driving in the rain. I think it is mostly turning on to the Turnpike. there are limbs tht sort of block the view when trying to get on. that is hard enough in dry weather much less in the rain.

Yesterday it was HOT!! I had a 2:30 p.m. doctor appointment so went. found a decent parking spot but the syn was hot so the car was really hot when I got back in an hour later. i decided to come straight home rather then go find a mailing tube for Tina. I did, hit every red light along the way. finally got home, grabbed a bottle of cold water and crashed in the recliner. Tina got home and was sweet enough to fix dinner. I was very thankful as both shoulders were bothering me a bit since I had shots in them at the doctor’s office. I believe shots are much preferred to surgery as long as they work. I have full use of both arms even though both are pretty much bone on bone. I am fine today.

Tina made a kabasa stir fry for dinner last night. It was really good. We have enough for diner tonight also. That leaves tomorrow night and I am thinking fish sticks. I try for fish at least once a week, and I prefer salmon. Tina prefers albacore and probably once a month. So we can have fish sticks, (cod), and I don’t know what to go with it. Maybe tater tots and a veggie. She’ll probably call and ask if she should bring something home for dinner?. I’ll answer that with P.F Chang’s, which is what we call Panda Express in this town.

From Wah’s House Hold Hint’s book: ” The Six mistakes of man! The great Roman Philosopher Cicero said some 2000 years ago: that the six most mistakes of man were:: 1. The delusion that personal gain is made by crushing others. 2: The tendency to worry about things. 3. Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it. 4. Refusing to set aside any and all trivial preferences. 5. Neglecting development and refinement of the mind and not acquiring the habit of reading and study. 6. Attempting to compel the other person to believe and live as we do.” Not too bad, I am thinking.

Have a great rest of your Wednesday. Make it a relaxing, productive, cheerful, and fun day.

Blessings!

MONDAY, AUGUST 18, 2025

It is Monday, Sunny, Breezy, 90 Degrees, and beautiful. Indoors we do have air conditioning so it is nice in here at 72 degrees. The weather person said that Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are due to be rainy. Maybe a bit cooler also.

the front flower garden is beautiful with flowering plants and green shrubs. Bill’s is also lovely with his flowers and greenery. Here, everywhere you look it is green and flowers. They do have a major problem with Virginia Creeper which is a aggressive vine that covers everything left on its own. That includes power poles and such. We don’t have any in our yard or in this block as far as I can tell. I think most everyone keeps a sharp eye out for it and kills it as soon as possible.

The weekend was nice. Saturday we went to three Garage Sales. All were nice, neat, well laid out and not at all junky. Also great prices. I bought a grass rake for a dollar. We had the other rake but the grass rake is a must for the grass and flower bed. Tina got a medicine ball for $2.00 and 2 Anne Gettie pictures that she wants to put in the bathroom in back. They are cute and perfect bathroom pictures. They were a dollar a piece. Tina also got a blue shrug sweater that is very nice. I can’t remember what else we found, but it was fun and we hope to do so again next Saturday.

After that we came home and deposited all our goodies, then off to Knoxville to get our hair cut, meet Dottie and Tammy for lunch, and pick up Tina’s glasses. She wanted a couple of things from The world Market, but they were out of what she wanted. We then went to Jerry’s to drop off something for Tevia, and, of course, play with the dogs. they are so fun and cuddly. They are also shedding like crazy. But so fun to be around. Makes my day. We then headed home and immediately changed clothes as we brought half of the dogs home with us, well, anyhow their fur. I still think that if we saved all their she-dded fur plus Sierra’s we could have fur coats. It was an enjoyable day for sure.

Sunday we got up and went to Walmart to get what groceries we needed. Better to go early then late, especially in the heat of the day. We did church on line which was O.K. but I do prefer going in person.

Our assistant pastor was the preacher Sunday and he is also very good. Next Sunday we are greeters at the 10:30 service. I believe the following Sunday there is only one service and that will be at 10:30. That is Labor day Weekend so there probably won’t be too many there. The rest of the day was doing some computer work, TV and just goofing off at home. A restful day.

Today Tina went to work at 5:00 a.m., then came and picked me up as she had to go to the back doctor. I took my book and waited for her while she got shots in her back. We came home and she left for work and I started the laundry. I am doing 2 loads today and the rest tomorrow. Tomorrow I have a doctor’s appointment with the shoulder doctor and will probably have sots in my shoulders. A whole lot better then surgery.

We are waiting for the roofer guy to call with the estimate for the roof and downspouts. We though that he would of called by now but so far no call. If he doesn’t call by the end of the wee, we,,,there are other fish in the sea, so to speak. We have the name of two others.

time to head for the kitchen. And for Wah’s House Hold Hints: ” One should always make their bed when they get up in the morning. when the beds are made and the dishes done, the house is in pretty good shape.” You can tell she only had one child.

Have a great rest of your Monday. Make it a marvelous, cheerful, productive, and fun day.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 15, 2025

We have had sunshine, once the fog burned off, all day until about 30 minutes ago, then the clouds rolled in. We may or may not have a rain shower. yesterday it thundered a lot, but no rain here. I believe parts of Knoxville got enough to flood a bit. Nothing very serious as the news just gave that bit of info.

Today I went to Arche’s Foot Care and had the toenails trimmed. Then to Kroger’s as I wanted a bros-ed chicken for dinner this evening. I want to see if Sierra will eat a bite or two of that as she isn’t very interested in her cat food, dry or wet. Jerry suggested trying her on the FARMER’S PET FOOD from the refrigerated section of the pet food at the grocery store. It is a thought so might just try it. I think we did once and she didn’t like it. She is one opinionated and fussy kitty. I think we bought the wrong flavor of Fancy Feast. I think she likes the grilled chicken one and Tina thinks she likes the chicken in gravy. This week we have tried that. last week it was chicken pate. Tomorrow we will try the grilled chicken one.

Jerry came out and worked on my computer. I was so embarrassed when he opened the FACEBOOK APT AND THERE WAS A WHOLE BUNCH OF PORN ON THERE. He managed to get it blocked and showed me ho to do so if I ever get that again. He said someone sent me something and I opened it without realizing the pron was attached somehow. Jerry thinks that may be how I got hacked. I open Cynthia Bleske’s messages, but just sent her a note to now contact me again and said why. I am not sure it is hers and said so. I won’t open any of them again.

After he got finished with my computer and phone we went to lunch at Aubrey’s. It was good. then back home and he headed home to continue staining his fence. It has taken him three weekends to get that fence stained , and he hopes to finish it this weekend. It takes time ans stain and good weather to stain a 2 acre fence. We have had a lot of rain and that has slowed him down some.

Wah’ House Hold Hints: “The thing that is really hard, and really amazing, is giving up onbeing perfect and beginning the work of being yourself.”

Have a great rest of your Friday and a Fantastic, relaxing, enjoyable and fun weekend.
