Wednesday, January 3, 2024 Cloudy Cold Still 41 Degrees 4:25 p.m.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Winter is defiantly here. It has been cold since last week, and I doubt it is going to improve in the next few days. They are predicting snow flurries this evening and maybe into tomorrow. This weekend it should get up into the low 50’s but it won’t last. Maybe rain. Yes, winter is here.

Tina caught the cold that seems to be going around so wasn’t feeling to great over New Years. She returned to work today. Yesterday she couldn’t speak loud enough to be heard unless you were right in front of her. We ended up texting. She could speak this morning so went to work. Her job requires her to be on the phone all day so having laryngitis is not good. She seemed fine today.

Today is the third day of 2024, and it has been busy. The TV room is now empty and painted and looks so pretty. Now we have to wait for 10 days to get the new floors installed. Both Tina and I are so eager for that event. We are not moving back in there at all. Everything is out of there so when the new floors are ready to be installed, all they have to do is take the old carpet out and put in the new engineered hardwood flooring. Then they can put the heave furniture back in place. That is the fireplace, TV and two recliners. The rest we can manage.

In the meantime I have plenty to do. Diana gave me Storyworth again so have a story to write. And I have to make sure that they receive three that I have written. I notice that sometimes they don’t go through and I have to resend them. Then there is thank you notes to write and a couple of letters to answer. There is always something to do for which I am very thankful for.

I received a new calendar so here is the first Quote of the year:

“Only a night from old to new. Only a sleep from night to morn. The new is but the old come true. Each sunrise sees a new year born.” Helen Hunt Jackson 1830-1855. American writer. Her verse from the bible: “He put a new song in my mouth, A hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear And put their trust in the Lord.” Psalm 40:3

Have a great rest of your first Wednesday in the new year of 2024. Make it a productive, kind, cheerful and fun day.
