TUESDAY, APRIL 29, 2025

Good afternoon. It is already the 29th day of April, and what a month it has been. It is nice to be back at the computer and able to type without the bulky bandage. Yes, I had to see if I couldn’t do one better then Tina. So now I am back at the computer, the sun is shining and Tina is back at work. All is beautiful.

We are very fortunate that we haven’t had all the bad weather that other places in this state, and many other states have had. We have had lots of rain and quite a bit of wind. One evening it hailed for about five minutes but the hail stones were very small and there was no damage. We are so very thankful for that. Of course Texas and the Midwest are still experiencing heavy rains and tornadoes and hail. My heart goes out tho them.

We have had some pretty warm days so everything is blooming and all the critters are appearing, waking up from their winter’s nap and hunting for food, etc. Jerry and Tammy had a couple visit at their old house one evening. They went over the next day to see what damage had been cause, and if they were still there. they didn’t see anything or anyone, but one, at least, had left the lingering aroma of its signature perfume. They didn’t see the visitors this time either, but did set traps. Sure enough! they trapped them. Now I’m not sure if these two were friends, working in cahoots with each other, but one was black and white, a regular beauty. The other was a masked bandit! Now I understand that the trap was working just fine and the culprits were caught. However, I haven’t heard if they are sharing the same cage, or were they separated?

Tina was able to return to work today. She was so excited to be getting back to work and out of the house where she has mostly been since March 28th. She has had to sleep in the recliner, and sit in the recliner, right arm in a sling or a brace type sling. She finally graduated to the shower and that helped her a lot. Then we went and got our hair cut, and she got hers washed real good, so that made her feel a lot better. She said it was hard to wash her hair with just one hand. she finally left the recliner and tried sleeping on the couch and said that was a lot better. I guess she is going to try and sleep in her bed tonight. I hope that works, but am thinking she will end up back on the couch. I sure hope that her first day back at work has been a great one. She is either just getting off work or will be home shortly. she wasn’t sure if she got off at 3:30 or 4:00. One does forget these minor things when one hasn’t been to work for a month.

Our garage/yard sale went wonderfully well. we had lots of people and we sold most of the stuff that was out there. Clothes were the least selling item. Dottie had put in the cutest little electric fireplace. I had my eye on it, but so did a few others so it sold in no time. That was good since I had no place to put it if I had bought it. Jerry had a six or seven piece older sound system for sale, and when he set it up he said that I didn’t have room for it. I didn’t and really didn’t want it. The fire place was much cuter, and I also have a beautiful large fireplace, electric. Tammy put in a lovely basket that i wanted and was going to get, but Sierra claimed it. so I really lucked out by not buying anything. Of course Sierra had to borrow money from me to pay for the basket. That cat!

To end the garage sale with a great finish, I fell, went boom! Jerry took me to Quick Care where Tina met us, and the doctor use strips of some sort of tape in place of stitches. She said that my skin was to thin to hold stitches. Other then that I was fine, I thought. Monday I went to my primary doctor and got my hand re-bandaged. White bandages do not stay white, regardless if you do or don’t get them wet. Wednesday I went to the dermatologist as the wart that was on my elbow that she has froze a week or so before partially tore off so she had to cut it off. yes, she placed a bandage there also. Friday I went to the back doctor as I believed that it was my back that caused me to fall. I go for shots in my back in May. It has been six months since my last shots in my back. Then, a week after the fall, my knee turned black and blue. I knew that I landed on it, and that it hurt, but I didn’t think anything of it until it turned black and blue. so I went to the knee doctor who x-ray and said that I had chipped a piece of the kneecap off. I thought that it you had your knee replaced that was or included the knee cap? What do I know! Anyway I am wearing either an ace bandage or a knee sleeve. i am using a cane for safety sake.

Now it is time to go prepare dinner for my working child. I think it will be tuna Salad. That is lite, nourishing, and good.

Wah’s House Hold Hints: Hair Setting Gel: Add a teaspoon of unflavored gelatin to a cup of warm water, (be sure that it is dissolved) to make an excellent setting lotion for your hair. Just as good as the store bough-ten stuff “it says”.

Have a great rest of your Tuesday. Make it a productive, cheerful, sociable, adventurous and fun day.

Blessings.

TUESDAY, APRIL 8, 2025

It has been ages since I have been here. The past week and a half have been quite busy and eventful, making it very hard to even think about getting on the computer, playing games and updating every one. I am sorry. I do hope things will go better now and I can be on here most of the time.

On March 28, Tina went to work. She was to train in the ER, learning the registration and meeting the staff, etc. She went it and put most of her stuff on her desk, then went back to her car to get something. She missed a step and fell. the wife of the head of HR saw her and stopped. She called her husband who came out with medical people, a back board and whatever else. They took her in and put her in one of the ER rooms. She was very concerned because she couldn’t feel her right arm so thought it was missing.

It turned out she had dislocated her shoulder. Long story short the doctor said he didn’t think it was broken but the swelling was preventing them getting a clear picture. Monday, the 5th of April, she went to the Orthopedic Surgeon. He believes that it is her rotator cup, but has ordered an MRI. She, on the other hand, believes that it is just a bruised muscle and will be just fine in a couple of days. This occurred March 28th and this is now April 9th. She still can’t raise her arm nor can she hold it without support, so I believe I’ll go with the rotator cup call. We are still waiting for the MRI appointment. Workman’s Comp can be a bit slow.

So she is home, sleeping in the reclines, wanting to go back to work, watching TV, and trying to do everything she isn’t supposed to do. I am working on being a good nurse, keeping house, cooking, washing, etc. And preparing for the garage sale this weekend. She has a brace to wear that is quite the deal. It even has a ball attached to the end by the hand. I told Jerry and Tammy that she was ready to come and play with the dogs. They can play ball! Finley would love it as she loves to play fetch.

It should be a good garage sale as Jerry and Tammy are, and have, brought stuff, Dottie is bringing stuff, we have stuff , Charles said he has stuff and I think Melinda, next door has stuff. it should be fun and, hopefully, profitable. At least we all will of gotten rid of things we no longer need. And the meeting and greeting people will be interesting and fun.

Today Tina has a doctor’s appointment in Knoxville so we decided to go to Cosco and get Kleenex, paper towels and toilet paper. they say it is all going up due to the tariffs, and we need it anyhow so might as well get it now. And probably coffee as we know that isn’t grown in the USA. Can’t run out of coffee!

I am hoping to get back on schedule, but if I miss a day or two, you will know that it is my nursing duties that are keeping me off the computer.

THURSDAY, MARCH 27, 2025

A busy day around here today. The morning started off overcast, breezy and in the 30’s, but ended up at 70 degrees. And sunny with a breeze now and then.

The first thing that occured today was the roofers arrived and started right in demolishing the roof of the A frame. It has been a very noisy day, and a busy one. I decided to start spring cleaning and started with my bedroom. All the furniture went out with the exception of the bed and dresser which I couldn’t move. I washed all the bedding, the window, dusted the walls and the ceiling far, cleaned all the rest of the stuff the goes in the room. What a job. This evening it loos so pretty and clean. Sierra seems to approve.

Sierra was very busy today also. It is hard to keep up with all the men on thee roof with all the tools and noise. she watched from one window and then from the other window. One bedroom to the other. All the action has kept her busy and entertained. I think they are gone for the day now so she is taking a much needed nap. Of course Tina got home from work and fed her dinner. That was a blessing according to Sierra. One does work up a hunger with all that activity.

She was busy helping me in between time. I went from one bedroom to the other carrying stuff. She didn’t like it when I moved her off the bed to strip it and then make it. It was her vantage point for viewing the workers on the roof. She will be happy tonight when she has everything back in place.

As for me, I’m tired but so happy to have one room compleatly done. Only five or six more, to do, not counting bathrooms.

Tomorrow Tevia is supposed to come for the weekend, but my Bible Study leader texted a bit ago and said that she had just been diagnosed with covid. I called and texted Diana and told her, so now don’t know if she will be able to come or not. What a bummer. Maybe next weekend if not this one.

Wah’s House Hold Hints: “Drain Cleaner: Dry mix one cup Baking Soda, 1 cup table salt, and 1/2 cup of cream of Tarter in a bowl. store in a container. to use, put 1/4 cup in drain, add 1 cup water. Note: cleaning bubbling action. when bubbling stops run water through the drain.

Have a great rest of your Thursday. Make it a thoughtful, productive, cheerful and fund day,

MARCH 26,2025

Wednesday already. I am way behind. It has been a busy week so far, and a confusing week. Tina started her new job Monday, and the hours are different and on again and off again as far as starting times and ending times. Two days and they haven’t been the same either day. So far, I am missing the old hours as I could plan my day and all went well mostly. Maybe next week will be better.

Weather has been beautiful this week. Yesterday we got up to 74 but today we won’t make 64. The sun is shining and there is a breeze, so not bad at all. The nights have been cool but not freezing and that makes a big difference. The trees are getting their leaves and looking fresh and pretty. The red bud trees are gorgeous, as are the Barton pear trees. Their buds are white, and don’t smell good at all. I understand that the next to receive leaves and blooms are the dogwood trees.

Weekend was busy. Saturday, our stay home day, was a trip to Hobby Lobby, Walmart, and Kroger’s. Then home and got busy watching “Grand Ole Opery 100’s Birthday”. Wee recorded it, so watched it Saturday afternoon, It was so good! We intended to price Garage Sale items while we watched the show, but the show was so interesting and good we didn’t get one item priced.

Charles came over and catted about Tina going to work at Methodist and he was sure that she would enjoy working there. She is, so far. Right now it is orientation and learning the job and all the ins and outs. She will have a ton of responsibilities, 3 pages full.

Sunday was church at 8:30 a.m., then in to Knoxville. Tina learned that most places don’t open until noon on Sunday, if they open at all. So we met Jerry, Tammy and Dottie at Los Burro for brunch. It was so good and so fun. We hadn’t planned on the buffet but since we were there we went for it, It was worth the price, $28.00 per person.

Monday, we got up an hour later, Tina left for work an hour later, and I got busy and did the laundry. Stopped long enough to meet the Bible study group for lunch at Panora’s. Then back home and laundry.

Tuesday was housework and a doctor’s appointment at 3:15. Shots in both shoulders. Much preferred to surgery. Then home. Not much excitement after that. Watched TV. Finished the Chuck Norris book and so enjoyed it. He is quite a man.

Today it was cleaning up the craft room, lunch with Fran Scott, and now doing my blog before Tina gets home, whenever that will be. At least the blog will be done. Then dinner and we have crafts this evening so have to be ready for that.

Wah’s Household Hints: “Get Rid of Ants” measure out 1/3 cup molasses, 1/4 cup sugar and a packet of dry yeast. Mix these ingredients into a paste. Coat one side of a small pieces of cardboard and place the coated pieces in the ant runways.

Have a great rest of you day. Make it a pleasurable, relaxing, and fun day. It is the “HUMP” day, so maybe be a bit productive also.
