A beautiful day after an early morning rain. It is humid and a bit warmer this afternoon, but really pretty. the wind is blowing a bit so the breeze is nice. The temperature is 78 degrees.I am noticing that the trees are just starting to turn a bit yellow. Fall is right around the corner, knocking on summer’s back door.

I believe that today the roof and gutters are completed. There may be a bit of touch-up work to be done but it looks fantastic! I love the feeling of no leaks and the gutter not falling off. Beauty is one thing but safety is another and the most important.

Sierra is curled up in Tina’s chair, very comfortable, snoozing away. I had to close the window because it got to warm and humid in here. So I am in the dog house with her. She loves having that window open so she can watch all the goings on outside without the birds, squirrels, chipmunk and puppy dogs seeing her. Sitting in front of the storm door, watching the world go by was fine until one of the dogs being walked spied her and headed towards the door. fortunately the Dog’s master was paying attention so didn’t get pulled off her feet and the dog didn’t get very far on its trip to the door to “Meet ” Sierra.

I haven’t found any more hints but also haven’t had time to look. I will try and get on that tomorrow. It is a bit hard to concentrate with all the workers around here. The banging and hammering, etc. tends to interrupt one’s concentration. I was told that it was the nail gun and the stapler that make the most noise.

Have a good rest of your Hump day. Make it profitable, pleasant, productive and fun.

HAPPY LABOR DAY..A DAY LATE!

I hope that you had a great Labor Day weekend, safe and filled with fun and enjoyment, rest and relaxation. For most laces the weather wasn’t tooo bad. Here we had nice temperatures, in the low 80’s and high 70’s. Today we had a couple of showers watering all plants. Now the sun is out for a bit It is 78 degrees with a light breeze.

Labor Day: I imagine that when I was in school they taught us about Labor Day. But since then I have had a birthday or two so did some research and here is what I found:: LABOR DAY was Inaugurated by Knights of Labor, 1882, to honor nation’s workers. It was made a national holiday in 1894. Oregon was the first state to make Labor Day a legal holiday (1887) and Congress made it a national holiday in 1894, setting aside the first Monday in September for its observance throughout the country. Now we know.

WE had a great three day weekend. Saturday, Tammy, Dottie, Jerry and Tina helped me celebrate my birthday. Tammy, Dottie, Tina and I did a painting class that was on U-Tube. We painted Christmas Trees. Mine looks more like a giant bush while the other three trees look like very perfect Christmas Trees. Dottie gave up trying to follow the ‘teacher” and did it her way. She had the best tree,,so original and so interesting and defiantly Christmas. It was fun.

Jerry brought the ribs, Dotty brought the green beans and potatoes, and cornbread muffins. We had macaroni salad. Tina ordered my birthday cake from Publix’s and it was in the shape of a Highland Heifer’s head. So cute and so good. Jerry also brought a pumpkin cake roll that is delicious. What a great day! Thanks to all who wished me Happy Birthday on Facebook and e-mails, and texts. I appreciate each and every one.

Sunday Tina ended up working all day Sunday. I took the day to just do whatever I felt like, which wasn’t much. I read, did my games and watched TV. Tina got home and we went to Walmart and Pet Smart, having dinner at Apple bee’s. We hadn’t been there for ages so did enjoy it, WE thought that a great idea as the kitchen was cleaned and all the dishes were washed. So nice.

Yesterday I used Labor Day to do labor and did the laundry, a bit of housework, etc. I made Tuna salad and boiled some eggs, have veggies and all that will help Tina with lunches for the week. Tonight we are having fish sticks for dinner. Tomorrow I am planning on having chicken but will wait and see.

Now that Summer season is over and we can start looking forward to fall and all the pretty trees with their colors, the smell of pumpkin spices and all the great smells, I guess it is time to start looking into the fall and winter closes for the coming season. I think that means washing the sweaters.

I will be hunting hints for Wah’s House Hold Hints, but for now, it is “Hint-less.

Have a great rest of your Tuesday. Make it a sunshiny, cheerful, productive and fun day.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 27, 2025

I can honestly say that this week has gone by swiftly. It has been busy. On the other hand, The weather has been fantastic!!! Much cooler, sunshine, blue skies, temps in the 50’s when we wake up and in the 70’s when we go to bed. I know that it won’t last but am sure enjoying it while it is here. I do hope that it holds through the long weekend and everyone has an enjoyable holiday.

We are getting a new roof. All the shingles and stuff was delivered this afternoon and they will start working on it either tomorrow or Thursday . Both Bill and Sharon and us are getting the roofs and gutters. All are needed badly. It will be nice to have it done and not worrying about new leaks and the gutters not working properly.

Saturday Tina and I cleaned and re-arranged the living room. It looks so much better now, now so crowded and cramped. Today, with the lovely weather, I opened the window and let some fresh air in. Sierra loves the open window. She has been so entertained with the hummingbirds that come and eat from the flowers.

Sunday we were greeters at the 10:30 service, so went to First Watch for breakfast prior to church. I so enjoy that place. I had the smoked salmon and roasted vegetable Frittata. It is so good. It came with a dish of fresh fruit and served with ciabatta toast. Tina had steel cut oatmeal with bananas and blueberries. And a carrot cake muffin. She loves that meal also.

After that we did a bit of shopping, hitting Kroger’s for the needed groceries. We looked through TJ Max, Home Goods, and Ross, I got a pair of slippers, and a set of hand towels for the kitchen. I don’t remember what Tina got but not much either. Went home and crashed, enjoyed snoozing through a few TV programs.

Monday it was much cooler so had a bit more energy the rest of the week has been gloriously pleasant. Now we are getting ready to go to Crafts and Bible Study. I am going to have to go through some more of Wah’s stuff and find more House Hold Hints to add to this. In the meantime, have a great rest of your Wednesday. Make it a cheerful, adventurous, educational, fun and great rest of your day.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 20, 2025

S hot but beautiful morning and most of the afternoon. We just got a thunderstorm so that helped to cool it off a bit. It has gone from 90 degrees to 87 so that is a nice drop. I do believe we will be getting a bit more rain. the flowers, grass and trees love it.

Today I have been busy working on my cell phone and pictures. The phone decided to take all the ones I had in the cloud and put them back on the phone, this phones pictures plus ones from 2020. I now need to go through and delete a whole bunch of stuff. I have instructions hoe to build a bookcase, recipeis that I sent to, I think, my granddaughter, all sorts of things besides pictures, and a lot of them aren’t ones I need to keep, like a picture of a product I wanted to remember to get at the store, in 2020.

The rain is back. We need it, or at least the flowers need it. I am supposed to go to Crafts tonight but if it is raining I wont go. I hate driving in the rain. I think it is mostly turning on to the Turnpike. there are limbs tht sort of block the view when trying to get on. that is hard enough in dry weather much less in the rain.

Yesterday it was HOT!! I had a 2:30 p.m. doctor appointment so went. found a decent parking spot but the syn was hot so the car was really hot when I got back in an hour later. i decided to come straight home rather then go find a mailing tube for Tina. I did, hit every red light along the way. finally got home, grabbed a bottle of cold water and crashed in the recliner. Tina got home and was sweet enough to fix dinner. I was very thankful as both shoulders were bothering me a bit since I had shots in them at the doctor’s office. I believe shots are much preferred to surgery as long as they work. I have full use of both arms even though both are pretty much bone on bone. I am fine today.

Tina made a kabasa stir fry for dinner last night. It was really good. We have enough for diner tonight also. That leaves tomorrow night and I am thinking fish sticks. I try for fish at least once a week, and I prefer salmon. Tina prefers albacore and probably once a month. So we can have fish sticks, (cod), and I don’t know what to go with it. Maybe tater tots and a veggie. She’ll probably call and ask if she should bring something home for dinner?. I’ll answer that with P.F Chang’s, which is what we call Panda Express in this town.

From Wah’s House Hold Hint’s book: ” The Six mistakes of man! The great Roman Philosopher Cicero said some 2000 years ago: that the six most mistakes of man were:: 1. The delusion that personal gain is made by crushing others. 2: The tendency to worry about things. 3. Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it. 4. Refusing to set aside any and all trivial preferences. 5. Neglecting development and refinement of the mind and not acquiring the habit of reading and study. 6. Attempting to compel the other person to believe and live as we do.” Not too bad, I am thinking.

Have a great rest of your Wednesday. Make it a relaxing, productive, cheerful, and fun day.

Blessings!
