Do to the major storm being predicted and the wind starting to come up I thought I would get my blog done, just in case we have a power outage. The storm last week gave us lots of rain and some wind, but no tornadoes and no major damage that I have heard of. Kentucky and Missouri received the tornadoes and major damage and deaths as well as injuries. My hear goes out to those folks.

Julie came over this morning and we did some bible study but mostly just visited. Her son is ill with mono so is home from school until at least Thursday and maybe Friday. That is not good. He is good in school and has a business cutting lawns and doing yard work so this is putting a damper on his business. With all the rain we have had the grass grows very fast. Plus, he is earning money to go to Europe for his senior trip next June. I think they are going to Germany.

That is about all I know at the moment. I will now do my story for the week, then maybe iron. there are six items in my ironing pile.

Wah’s House Hold Hints, ” T clean varnished wood, weathered wood, or furniture; put 1 cup of vinegar in one gallon warm water. Wash with a sponge dipped in the solution and wrung as dry as possible. Do not rinse, simply take three or four paper towels and remove any excess moisture, and rub furniture until it shines. This does not hurt the finish in anyway and doesn’t require to much elbow grease to rub dry.”

Have a great rest of your Tuesday. Make it a Taco, friendly, energetic, positive, and fun day.

A typical spring day….sunny, cloudy, rain showers, warm, a bit breezy. All in all a nice day. Tomorrow, late afternoon and night is a weather alert with strong thunderstorms, high winds, hail and a slight chance of a tornado. The weatherman will keep us updated.

We had a good weekend. A trip to the bank so I could change my phone number, a stop at the car wash place, and then home. No shopping or goofing off. But, the laundry got compleatly done, the one closet got cleaned out, we watched some Angel T.V., church on Sunday, stop at Kroger’s, home and a great restful Sunday afternoon and evening.

Tina and I are starting Revelations, chapter 1. We completed that Sunday afternoon. We will do Chapter 2 next Sunday. Meanwhile I went to bible study today and we are on Revelations 17 -18 and Daniel chapter 11. Betsy researches and digs deep so it was very interesting and a bit confusing. She was looking at dates and times concerning the 70, 7, 62,, and 8. She had a lot of books and different people’s opinions on the subject. Most of us thought it was a bit deep but very interesting. I will do some research on my own with books I have on hand. This was our last bible study until September 8th. However we will meet for lunch the last Monday of each month.

Depending on weather I hope to get the patio cleaned real good, put out the Memorial Day Flags and add the wreaths on the doors. Then go on to the spring decor. Yes, I know that summer is near. But Spring and Summer decor are about the same thing.

Wah’s House Hold Hints: To season waffle iron, skillets, or dutch oven, etc, place 1 tsp. melted, unsalted fat or salad oil on each grid. Use a fairly stiff brush to spread the fat over entire surface of grids. Close grids & connect the grill to outlet. Set dial at medium, and heat until light goes out. Turn dial to off compleatly. Open grill and let grids cool off compleatly. With a soft cloth wipe all excess fat from grids. They should appear just slightly greasy when this seasoning is complete.”

have a great rest of your Monday. Make it a cheerful, exciting, safe, adventurous, and fun day.

Blessings

Please keep all those affected by the deadly tornadoes in your prayers.

FRIDAY, MAY 16, 2025

Due to the fact that we are under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 6:00 p.m., I am going to do my blog now. Just in case the power goes out and I can’t get it done later on. The storm is due in this afternoon, then calm down for a few hours and another major one is due in sometime during the night. Yesterday they said it was a dry day, the 3rd of the month, but it was raining when I went to be around 9:00 p.m., so we have only had two days without rain this month. And we have 15 more days in this month! Right now it is cloudy, humid, 75 degrees and a very slight breeze.

Tina is through with her classes in Knoxville and is back at work here in oak Ridge. She will have her last PT this afternoon, then she will see what the doctor says. I think she is doing well and her arm is moving much better now. She still can’t lift much, but she can carry a cup of coffee, and silverware to the table. So all is getting pretty good. I am hoping she won’t have to have surgery, I know that this will take time to heal as it is a torn muscle. I am just thankful that it isn’t anything worse.

Jerry came out this morning and installed Angel Studio on both TV’s, then attached the timer so that it will water the plants outside automatically, when I turn it on. they are getting watered now naturally. We might need that this summer as it can be a dry summer. Last summer was and we were in a drought. He also put the washing machine back where it belonged. It wants to walk and we aren’t sure why, It isn’t unlevel. He is so good about helping when needed and both Tina and I appreciate him very much.

WE haven’t much planned for the weekend. I have to go into Knoxville tomorrow to the bank and update my phone number. Then, Tina wants to get her car cleaned. This is weather permitting. Sunday is church. If it is not raining we might pull weeds out front. They grow faster then the grass I think.

Wah’s House Hold Hints: “To clean waffle iron or any appliance. Soak an old towel in ammonia and wrap around the waffle iron grills and set them in a plastic bag. Let stand for 3 or 4 hours. Then wipe off. Also oven. Set a saturated cloth in a pan and let set overnight or several hours. Wipe off.”

Have a wonderful rest of your Friday and a fantastic weekend. Make all pleasant, productive, social, kind, and fun.

THURSDAY, MAY 15, 2025

A Dry, mostly sunny , beautiful Thursday afternoon. This will be the 3 day in May without rain. That will end tomorrow. I am enjoying it while it lasts. The bad weather has been hard on the phones, computers, etc. For me, mostly dropped calls. Others have had power failure and some flooding. Here, puddles. It is 80 degrees right now, 3:28 p.m.

Yesterday I went and got shots in my back. Came home ate a late lunch, sat down and took a two hour nap that was not in my plans. Last night I couldn’t sleep, dozed, tossed and turned. That nap didn’t help I am thinking. But have felt great today and accomplished a lot. Needless to say I didn’t get my blog done.

The gentleman who mows our lawn was here and mowed. Just in time for more rain. I am sure I can sit here and watch the grass grow. He says that he is overwhelmed keeping the lawns mowed. I don’t know how many he has but I imagine upwards of 30. He mows at least twice a month and more if needed. When the grass isn’t growing very fast, like in the summer, he only comes once a month, if needed. He doesn’t charge when he doesn’t mow.

Now much news around here. Next week school is out so won’t even have the school buses. No dogs being walked and a few birds out hunting worms and birdseed. We have a very busy chipmunk that keeps running bast the front door. Back and forth about fifty times this afternoon. the squirrel was out a bit but he has gone to check out other trees and bird feeders. Ours needs filling again. They are hungry all the time.

Wah’s House Hold Hints: “For Dry Hair – add a cupful of baby oil to your regular shampoo. It conditions and gives it a shine, softness and easier to handle.”

Have a great rest of your Thursday. Make it a fun, relaxing, profitable, and productive day.
