Cloudy, cool, spitting rain, pre-winter-ish. Yes, we are to have a cold, cloudy, rainy, messy week, weather wise. But, that is O.K. as we have had so many pretty, warm days when the rest of the country was suffering with bad weather events. So, no complaints here. Right now, it is 56 degrees at 5:10 p.m.

Tina is on her way home from work and Sierra is sitting on the back of the couch, waiting for her. As soon as she hits the back door, Sierra will fly off the couch and hustle her bustle to the back door to greet her and tell her all about the day. She is ass good at that as a puppy dog.

The weekend was great! Tevia arrived late Friday afternoon along with her brother Chael and her “papa”, Jerry. Chael has grown leaps and bounds so is quite the young man now. He is good looking, cheerful, fun, and very talented with the computer games. It was so fun seeing him. Tina couldn’t get over how tall he is and already 13 speeding towards 14. His brother, Deagan is 15 and about to hit that big 16 in one month and 11 days! He is working towards saving for his car insurance and gas for the car. I believe he gets one of their older cars. It seems so unreal that these babies are no longer babies, but teens and almost teens.

Tevia, who is 11 going more slowly towards 12, is a very pretty, sweet girl. WE had such a fun and nice time with her. She had mentioned things that she wanted to do when she visited so we left it up to her and she asked if she could… and, of course, …she could. Friday evening, we watched TV for a bit, then Tina went to bed. Tevia and I played Yahtzee until 11:15 p.m. then called it a night.

Saturday, when asked what she would like for breakfast she said pancakes. So Aunt Tuna fixed Blueberry pancakes. After breakfast Tina and Tevia made blankets. I believe she enjoyed that as they made three tie blankets. She caught on quickly and i am sure she will be making tie blankets of her own soon.

She had mentioned that she wanted to cook. So I told her that she could invite Jerry, Tammy and Chael for dinner, and she could prepare the dinner. When asked what she wanted to fix, she said tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwich. So, she called and invited them. They said that they were busy but that were inviting us three to their place for dinner. When asked what they were serving, the responded was chicken from SUPER CHICKS!.

We had tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch! After lunch Tevia and I cleaned all of my earrings. Boy, do they shine and sparkle now. They needed it badly and I am very appreciative of her doing that. She also removed all the books from the bottom shelf of the book case. I have wanted to get that done for a long time, but can’t get on my knees to get down there and do it correctly. So that was a gigantic accomplishment.

She and Tina did diamond art and I believe she enjoyed that. I think that is something that will go along with her crocheting of the small animals. She played games on the console and we visited and just enjoyed. It was so fun. We went to Jerry’s for a 6:00 p.m. dinner. It is always very lively over there, more so with two kids to go along with the 5 dogs. Very loud, very cheerful, very fun. Dinner was very good and both Tina and thought we should remember that place. She said the chicken was as goo, if not better, then CANES! That is saying something.

Tevia stayed at Jerry and Tammy’s Saturday night as Jerry took her and Chael to meet their parents Saturday morning. We sure missed her, but so thankful we got to spend time with her and enjoy her company. I hope we get to do so again soon.

Sunday Tina and i went to church, then grocery shopping. Home, put groceries away, did some computer work and watched TV. Jerry and Tammy came over an brought a very tall book case that Tina said would help separate the books and give room. It sure does. Jerry and Tammy took our smaller one up stairs and put it in the guest room. Today I got it put in place and that room back in order and looking like a guest room instead of the “throw it in here” room.

I had a doctor’s appointment today. I thought it was at 3:45 p.m. this afternoon but it was at 9:40 this morning. Why I had 3:45 p.m .in my head I don’t know. That is the second time I have done that and missed a doctor’s appointment, with the same doctor. Now I go Wednesday morning at 9:40. I will make that one.

I hope you had a great weekend and a wonderful Monday. Make the rest of your day a cheerful, productive, kind, generous, and fun day.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 22, 2024

I got so busy yesterday that I simply spaced doing my blog. Between very windy, cloudy/sunny, cold and iffy weather and being excited because my great granddaughter is coming to spend the weekend with us, I simply spaced the blog. So today, it is now mostly cloudy, a bit windy, cold, 49 degrees at 2:59 p.m. For the most part, I am ready for Tevia to arrive, and am so looking forward to spending time with her and catching up on all her activities, her Pretty ducks, and all that goes on out at the farm.

I understand, from her mom, that things aren’t anywhere near getting back to normal after Helene’s terrible rains and flooding as well as the high winds, but at least they have electricity and a house to live in, which is a lot more then many folks who were stricken by that devastating storm. She said that the animals were doing O.K., but that she was only getting one egg a day as so many of her laying hens hadn’t recouped from the stress of the storm. I believe the animals suffered as much as the humans. I am just thankful that they are doing O.K. even if it will take months to get all the trees cut up and moved. they were blocked in by fallen trees.

Here, we have had rain and cold, but no snow. Yesterday morning when I woke up, the a frame roof was solid white with frost, as was the neighboring roofs, the grass, the trees, etc. It was so pretty. There were a few towns in Tennessee that woke up to snow this morning but here we just had rain. Snow would of been nice, I think. There wasn’t a great deal, maybe a couple of inches in different towns, but it made such pretty pictures on the morning news.

Outside of housework, I haven’t done anything exciting. I went through four recipes boxes and found some interesting and easy recipes that my mom had cut out of newspapers and magazines, so I made one of them last evening. It was good, but needed more spice. It also called for frozen veggies, and I believe I should of thawed them out some and blotted them prior to added them to the pan. They were a bit mushy according to Tina. I didn’t mind it but then , my taste buds are different then hers. I will make it again one day and do it a bit different. With a little re-do, I think it is a keeper.

Speaking of book and reading, I am reading Chuck Norris’s biography. It is really good. I seldom read biographies as it is usually not that interesting. Chuck Norris is a Christian and the book is good, clean, interesting and full of Marshall Arts.

For my friends in California, what is your weather like? are you having effects from the weather bomb of day before yesterday? Are you safe? All are in my prayers.

I had better sign off. I was told that my guest would like spaghetti for dinner, so must get busy. I am so thankful that I have some in the freezer, so will get it heating slowly and I will have it made.

Have a great rest of your Friday, and a wonderful, fun filled, safe, warm, dry and relaxing weekend.

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 2024

We woke to a rainy morning. Gradually the rain quit and it was just a gray morning. all of a sudden it was a beautiful sunshiny morning. The temperature was about 63, working its way up to 67. Then the wind came up and has worked very hard at rearranging everyone’s leaves… .moving them from one yard to another and possibly back again. Maybe tomorrow I will go out and sweep them up off the front “porch” and also in the car port. The time is 5:10 p.m. and the temperature has dropped down to 56. By the time we get home from Crafts this evening it will be in the low 40’s I believe.

Tonight is leftovers for dinner, so that is easy. I did half of the laundry today and will do the towels and such tomorrow. I chatted with Diana vie e-mail and learned what the kids wish list looks like. It was so much simpler when they were little. But, they are growing way to fast and with that comes more interesting and challenging “wishes”. Now, Great Granny has to figure out just What? and Really? Oh, O.K. It will be fun. Jeff’s two grand kids are still young enough that I can understand their wishes. Preston loves trucks and Emma is into Barbies still. That is simple. Brittany’s girls are into barbies and baby dolls. Thank Goodness.

Well, have to get dinner on the table as we have to leave in an hour. Wednesday evenings are sure busy.

Have a great rest of your Wednesday. Make it a pleasant, fun, interesting , and sociable day.

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 19, 2024

A very cloudy, rainy at times, cool day. We didn’t get as much rain as I thought we would, but I am happy that we got even a little. Tomorrow is supposed to be about the same. Then the cold weather comes in. Right now, it is 4:46 p.m. and Alexia says that the temperature is 66 degrees, but the computer says it is 58 degrees. Of course the computer says it is clear and Alexia says cloudy. I will go with Alexia.

Dinner is in the oven, pork chops and scalloped potatoes. I will get the veggie going as soon as I finish this. Dinner will be on the table when Tina gets home. Then we will have the evening to work on a couple of projects. Crafts, if you will.

Diana said that she will e-mail me the Christmas wishes of her family. Deagan will be 16 in January, so long past the ages of buying him cute, fun, or interesting things. I have no clue what he would like other then money for a game or his savings account for a car. Chael is 13, and he is about as difficult as his brother in that department. But he does like putting together Lego’s, the difficult ones. I expect that one day he will build a beautiful home, all out of Lego’s. He is very talented with them. Deagan is very talented with the computer games and could probably build his own by now.

Then there is Tevia. She is an 11 and a girl, so easy to choose things for at the moment. She likes to make things and do crafts, so have a couple of things like that so far. I think she will enjoy. I hope she will enjoy. Now their parents are a different story. I haven’t a clue so hope that when Diana send the wish list she includes them also.

Tina is running a bit late this evening. She had to stop at her brother’s and have her birthday gift put in her car. He got her floor mats. She just called and is so excited over them. Jerry certainly knows the way to her heart.

Dinner is about done so had better get on with this. I wouldn’t want to burn it.

Have a great rest of your Tuesday. Make it a cheerful, adventurous, knowledgeable, interesting, and fun day.
