A partly sunny day with rain expected tonight into tomorrow morning. We do need the rain so that would be wonderful. the plants would appreciate a good watering by Mother Nature. The weather is cooling down, more like fall then spring now. Right now it is 67 degrees at 4:45 p.m. Our high was 68, I believe.

Tonight is Crafts and I have everything ready to go. We are having chicken Cesar salad for dinner, so that is easy and not a mess to clean up. I have the chicken ready and what more does one want? Tina had pizza for lunch, said it was o.k. but nothing to ride home about. They have a food truck on Thursdays and sometimes it is good and sometimes not so good. I guess today was the not so good day. I had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and it was wonderful. There are no food trucks at my house,

I had the steroid shots in my shoulders yesterday and today has been great. Last night I slept like a log. As a rule my shoulders hurt the worst at night when I was trying to sleep. So thankful for the shots.

Quoit of the day: ‘What is success? I think it is a mixture of having a flair for the thing that you are doing; knowing that it is not enough, that you have got to have hard work and a certain sense of purpose.” Margaret Thatcher, 1925 -,2013 Former Prime Minister of Great Britain.

Have a great rest of your Hump Day. Make it pleasant, profitable, positive, cneerful and fun.

Tuesday. November 12, 2024

A beautiful, cool November day. It is now fall here. It is 12:24 p,m, and 61 degrees. partly cloudy, and breezy. I am early today as I will have a busy afternoon and also am having problems with the computer. This will be short and sweet.

Weekend was great. We got lost, went to a craft sale where most of the stuff there was from other countries and very little “crafts” made by hand here. Rather sad. The getting lost was fun, such beautiful country and farm houses and barns, cows and horses. Really nice and fun. We didn’t buy much at all. Then it was to the Amish market where we had originally started for. They didn’t have what we wanted as it was sold out. We will try again next week I hope. I love their spiced peaches.

Sunday we were both tired and my back was hurting so we did church on line. That was nice an very comfortable as I sat in the desk chair. We spent the day watching TV and doing lazy things like that.

Yesterday was bible study. We are doing Daniel right now and it is interesting. It is amazing how one book leads to something in another book, etc. I am enjoying this study very much.

Quote of the day: “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all. Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature.” Helen Keller, 1880 – 1968. American Writer. Crusader for the Handicapped.

Have a great rest of your Tuesday. I hope to do better tomorrow,if the computer will allow it. Make the rest of your day a adventure, entertaining, productive, cheerful and fun.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2024

Mostly sunny, with a slight breeze. Beautiful leaves occasionally floating down as the trees shed their spring and summer beauty for the late fall and winter. Like the bears, squirrels, and chipmunks, they “hibernate for the winter. The trees and plants go dormant for the winter. A period of rest. Right now it is 74 degrees and the time is 4:41 p.m.

Tonight we are dining on Caesar Chicken and Veggie salad. A simple meal but also nourishing. I believe next week the temperatures start going down and it will be time for the winter meals, roasts, stews, ham and beans, etc. I am looking forward to some of them. My last stew I learned that grilling veggies shouldn’t be used in stew…..it comes out like mush. But it did taste good.

This weekend we might get to go to a craft sale/show. There is one someplace off Clinton Highway and Merchant Drive. I will have to watch the TV and see if I can get the correct address. Of course, we have a ton of things to do around the house so we shall see how far we get with the craft show Idea. I am good either way. This show is supposed to be quite large. We shall see. There is also one downtown Knoxville and that one is also a large one. A busy time of the year for sure.

Sierra is waiting for Tina to get home. Tina will be here in about fifteen minutes. No major plans for the evening, just TV, We need to finish watching some of our recordings so that will take up the evening.

Quote of the day: “Ideal conversation must be an exchange of thought, and not, as many of those who worry most about their short comings believe, an eloquent exhibition of wit or oratory.” Emily Post, 1873 – 1960, American Writer, Socialite.

I remember, as a child growing up, Emily Post set the rules for manners and etiquette. I think that, maybe, some, if not most, of them should still be followed.

Have a wonderful rest of your Friday and a fantastic, adventurous, relaxing, enjoyable and fun weekend.

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 2024

A mostly cloudy day with the sun peeking our for bit now and then. There is a very slight breeze. The time is 4:22 p.m. and the temperature is 79 Degrees. The house stays a bit cooler, especially when the sun isn’t out a lot, warming the living room. but, it isn’t bad. i have a sweater on and that makes it all good.

The week has gone so fast. Tomorrow is Friday already, and I still have things I want to get done before the weekend. I believe Saturday morning we are going to make blankets. I guess that depends of Bonnie and if she comes over or not. We have a few we want to get made. Right now the blankets will go to the flood victims from the Helene Flooding. All are needed. Right now the biggest need is laborers with skills in carpentry, plumbing, roofing, landscaping, electrical, welding, etc. Donations of their time and donations of plywood, and building supplies are needed the most. It will take months, if not years, to get the whole flood area back to some what normal. There are still people without electricity, homes, etc. and NO ADDRESSES. That seems so strange to me, but then, there are no mailboxes, homes, buildings, so I guess there would be no address to leave the mail. Some places no longer have a post office.

I talked to Jeff today. He was at work. I asked what the temperature was there. He said that it was 28 degrees, clear and lots of stars shining in a night sky. They are thee hours behind us, so it was 4:00 a.m. there. In Vegas, around 11:00 a.m. I believe it was 50 something. They are having fall weather while we are having spring. Maybe next week we will get the fall weather.

Quote of the day: “If God who gives prayer, then God often gives it in the form of gratitude, and gratitude itself, when received attentively in prayer, is healing to the heart. Prayer is such a mysterious business for something so ordinary and everyday.” Roberta Bondi, Contemporary American Educator, Writer

Have a great rest of your Thursday. Make it a pleasant, productive, cheerful, safe, and fun day.
