Friday, September 2, 2022 Cloudy Slight Breeze Rain? 87 Degrees 5:46 p.m.

The weatherman said that we would probably have some rain and maybe even thunder shower this weekend. I think he might just be correct. It looks like it and even feels like it. The humidity is back.

A busy day around here. Tina went for another interview this morning. She said it was good and is back on the wait and see agenda. they say it takes a long time to get through all the interviews and such and I think they are correct in that.

After she got home and changed we went to Clinton and met Dottie at Apple Blossom’s Cafe for lunch. That is one busy place. The food is great as is the service. Prices are good also.

After leaving there, we stopped in at the little gift shop nest door and looked around. We weren’t impressed. they had a lot of stuff, hand made and some of it was nice, some cut and a lot a bit “Off Color”. We were put off by that. I just don’t get the vulgar prints and carvings on everything.

Then we stopped at a cute little shop named “Southern Gossip”. they had the nicest things, mostly hand made and local artists. They had clothes, some furniture, shoes, soaps and lotions, baby items, etc. All neat and clean and fun. So fun.. The ladies were so nice and friendly and helpful. I am sure we will go back there again for gifts as well as stuff for ourselves.

Now we are home and getting ready for dinner and the news. Dinner is more of a snack then a meal as neither of us are hungry. Wishing you a very safe, happy, healthy and fun rest of your Friday and all weekend.

Quote of the day: Whatever your years, there is in every being’s heart the love of wonder, the undaunted challenges of events, the unfailing childlike appetite for what comes next, and the joy of the game of life. You are as young as your hope. Douglas MacArthur

THE TREE OF SHADE

Thursday, September 1, 2022 Sunny Breezy Warm 88 Degrees 5:10 p.m.

The 244th day of the 9th month of the 2,022 year. There are 121 days left in this year. Make each of them happy, adventurous, productive, positive and meaningful.

For my birthday I received an emergency light to put in the upstairs hallway. Of course I plugged it in and found out that it is also a motion detector light. That is great as if one gets up during the night the light comes on and one can see where they are going and where a cat might be laying. That is awesome! Milo thinks this is the greatest thing since catnip treats. He thinks this light is a new toy and enjoys walking in front of it to make it come on. So he goes prancing in front of it one way, waits for it to go off, then prances in front of it going the other way. This goes on for a little while. Sierra is watching and finally thinks maybe this is a new form of exercise, so she proceeds to walk in front of it and the light goes on. She waits for it to go off and retraces her steps. Such fun. She finally goes and lays down. Milo comes back and proceeds to sit in front of the light, like he is looking in a mirror. He faces it for a few moments, then turns his back to it and sits for a few moments. He then walks away. Sierra thinks that maybe she should do that also and proceeds to do the same thing.

While Sierra is basking in the emergency light Milo discovers that the light shines on the TV in my bedroom so he jumps up there and paws at it, then looks out my window and see that the light is reflecting onto the dome skylights that are located on the roof just outside my window. He can’t figure out how to get at them, but Sierra is now finished with her light basking and jumps up to join him. They finally both leave and I am wondering if the light draws all the outdoor creatures for the on and off show. The deer, the raccoons, the fox, etc. I do hope they all enjoy it. these two fur balls do.

Correction to yesterday’s blog. It is Biltmore, not Buildmore. I will have more to say about this when I learn more.

Quote of the day: Singing lifts our spirits. It’s just plain good for us. Whether we sing with trained voices that bring thundering applause or off-key screeching, by the time our songs of praise reach heaven they are all equally beautiful. My calendar.

Have a wonderful rest of your Thursday. Make the day a coco a cola, hot dog, apple pie kind of day!

IT IS GETTING T BE THE TIME OF YEAR TO WORK ON CHRISTMAS CRAFTS.

Wednesday, August 31, 2022 Sunny Slight Breeze Warm 87 Degrees 5:13 p.m.

A beautiful. sunny, summer Day! A bit warm but, it is summer! Soon it will be fall and the warm days will turn into cool nights. It is starting to prepare for football weather, fall colors, sweaters and all the great fall adventures. I believe we have twenty two days left in Summer of 2022. Enjoy each of them.

My birthday dinner at Calhoun’s was fantastic. When we got there we found Jerry, Tammy and Dottie waiting for us. Soon after we arrived Robbie Keith joined us. It is so lovely looking out at the river and watching the boats and such. There were two row boats filled with teams rowing, so I think there is a race coming up soon. there must be ten or more bodies rowing the boat. There are both boys and girls teams and I have no clue which were out there last evening.

Dinner! Jerry had brisket ends with Tennessee Whiskey BBQ sauce. (I think). Tina and Dottie had wings and Dottie also has ribs that came with her wings. Tammy had a salad I believe. Robbie had a Rib-eye steak and I had two pork chops. So good. With mine I had a baked sweet potato and creamy spinach. Of course bread was served when we first sat down. For dessert Tina, Dottie, Jerry and Robbie Keith had banana pudding served in a gigantic dish that looked like a very large clear glass beer glass. Tammy and I had fresh peach shortcake. So yummy. All of us had go boxes with the exception of Robbie Keith. He managed to eat all of his banana pudding. He is a big man.

Jerry and Tammy gave me a emergency light for the hall upstairs. That is such a useful gift as if the power goes off it is very dark everywhere. We could of used that a couple of weeks ago. We used our phones to get downstairs, then used flashlights and the lantern. Then, They gave me, Tina, and Dottie tickets to go to the Builtmore to see the Christmas lights and the Leonardo da Vinci – 500 years of Genius. We three are over the moon excited over that. More about that after we do that adventure. Tonight’s dinner is from our take home boxes. What a great meal and a fun evening with wonderful company. I also have to thank every one, friends, family and even businesses for all the beautiful cards, calls, texts and e-mails. What a wonderful start to my 82nd year. The first adventure.

Quote of the day: Until a few years ago, my favorite thing to exercise was my right to vote! My idea of strenuous exercise was, as someone said, to fill the tub, pull the plug, then fight the current! From my calender’s.

Have a fantastic rest of your day. Make it super adventurous, prosperous, exciting and fun.
