OFF TO SHOP FOR SANTA

Friday, December 10, 2021 cloudy, drizzly cold 51 degrees 6:08 p.m.

The temperature says it isn’t that cold, but the damp weather makes if feel cold. It has been misting and sort of raining all day. The weatherman says that tomorrow will be the “big storm” in the way of rain. I will be home to watch it from the windows. Tina has to work but will be home by 9:30 so should be here before it really hits. Winter is upon us I think. We do have 11 more days until it is officially here.

Today Tina went to the doctor as did Jerry. he has a head cold but she has the Viral bronchitis so is on a Zee pack and steroids. Since she just started she should get over this real quick. I got the Zee pack and will start it tomorrow also. I can save it if I thinks I am better so shall see in the morning. I know I am better but not yet ready to go dancing. Maybe tomorrow.

Today’s Story: AUNTIE FLO

Every year on Christmas there’s a gift from Auntie Flo, She’s sent me pairs of underwear for three years in a row. The box is always beautiful, the bow is neatly tied, but i”m always disappointed when I see those shorts inside. I wish she’d send a model plane,, or even a big stuffed bear, I’d take a box of stones and rocks, but please! no underwear.

The weekend is upon us and I believe we will be close to home. We will work at getting well and also doing the cards and things that need to be completed. It will be nice to stay home and not have to go anyplace for two days. The cats had a wrestling match under the Christmas tree so have to fix the skirt. It is all bunched up. I am dreading placing packages under there as I know that Milo will want to sample each one. He likes to keep his shredding skills polished.

Have a great rest of your Friday and a wonderful, busy, fun and relaxing weekend.

Blessings

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 9, 2021

Thursday, December 9, 2021 Sunny breezy 51 degrees 4:21 p.m.

A beautiful day. The morning started out in the freezing 30″s with frost on everything and gradually turned into a nice sunny cool day. Our excitement was my trip to the doctor, which wasn’t bad at all. Traffic was moderate and the wait, once we got there was minimal. I always enjoy the ride into Knoxville and back as the scenery is so pretty. Now that the trees have lost their leaves one can see homes and farmland back away from the highway. It is nice.

The “sick clinic” is in the basement of the regular clinic. It isn’t fancy but it is clean and neat and pleasant without ornaments of any kind. I guess they don’t want anyone to be comfortable and want to come back often. I was only there perhaps 20 minutes at the most.I had a temperature of 98.6, bp of 134/84 which I thought was high but the nurse said that I had just walked in and walked down the ramp, etc. so that it was very good. Oxygen was 98. The doctor came in and did all the listening to the heart and lungs and eyes and throat. She said that I had Viral Bronchitis. She gave me a steroid shot and ordered me a Zoo pack to use only if I get worse or something else comes along of the same gender. She said that this is just the start of the season. To continue with the THERAFLU and NyQuil and that I was on the down hill side of this and should be completely well by the weekend. I felt so much better this morning I nearly cancelled my appointment but thought better if it. She gave me a COVID-19 test and will know the results tomorrow. She and I both are sure it is negative. I am not contagious. That is my day today

Today’s Story: OUR CHRISTMAS TREE

Daddy took me to the forest for our Christmas tree today, and he said that we’d enjoy it and we’d hardly have to pay. We were wearing scarves and mittens, all our very warmest clothes, bur our cheeks soon looked like cherries and our fingers nearly froze. We hunted through the forest for a tree that was just right, by the time we finally found one we were both an awful sight, I was shivering and shaking. Daddy shook and shivered too, I was colder then an iceberg, Daddy’s face was turning blue. Daddy finally chopped that tree down, but the way he did it was dumb, when it fell, it knocked him backwards and he cut his nose and thumb, Daddy also sprained his shoulder. banged an elbow, scraped a knee, As I helped him up, he muttered, “Son! Next year we’ll buy our tree.”

I hope you don’t have such problems getting your tree. Ours is up and looking swell. Milo and Sierra enjoy laying under it and occasionally batting at a low hanging ornament. They seem to think napping under it is the best..

Have a great rest of your Thursday and make it a pleasant, safe, healthy, positive and fun day.

CHRISTMAS IN THE AIR

Wednesday, December 8, 2021 Sunny, Windy, Cool 52 degrees 2:57 p.m.

It is that time of year. I caught a miserable cold. The one with the runny nose, cough and sore throat that feels like someone is holding a hot poker to it, reaching from ear to ear. Thera Flu helps a lot but I decided to call the doctor to see if he could send something to the drug store to help with the ears hurting. Not in this new age! So I go to the “sick clinic” at 11:10 tomorrow morning! When I get there I call this number and when they are ready for me they will come out and get me. I am sure I will get the COVID-19 test which is fine. I am sure that I do not have that. I just want something to take care of the sore throat and ears. On the brighter side, I am helping to keep the Kleenex company in business. I should own stock!

Our weather is so weird. It is in the 70’s one day and the 30’s the next. Today is beautiful until you walk out the door and discover it is cold out there! The weatherman says that we will have this type of up and down temperatures for the rest of this week and probably next. Shorts one day and parkas the next!

Our story today: DEAR SANTA CLAUSE

Dear Santa Clause,

it’s me again, reminding you I’m here, I’m making my list easier and shorter then last year. I’d like a stack of comic books, a dozen apple pies, a box of chocolate brownies and an elephant that flies. A porpoise for the bath tub and a dragon for my room, a robot that does homework and can also use a broom.

and I’d like a hippopotamus, a trumpet and a drum. I could use a half dollar and a million sticks of gum. Just leave them by our Christmas Tree or near the fire place.Oh! you probably won’t bring them, but I”m writing…..just in case.

Sierra likes to converse with “Alexia” and just asked her to play Tic Toc. I don’t understand how their communication works but every so often Sierra is sitting in front of the Eco and she will Meow and Alexa starts playing something. It is weird.

Have a great rest of your day. Make it a healthy, Happy and prosperous one

THE RIDE ON THE ONE HORSE OPEN SLEIGH

Friday, December 3, 2021 Sunny Slight breeze Warm 66 degrees 5:31 p.m.

A busy Friday. Tina started the day with a doctor’s appointment. then we met Dottie and went to Knoxville to Belk’s looking for a couple of special things. Didn’t find them but Tina found a cute shirt to wear to work. After that we went looking for Karn’s Christmas store. After driving around and googling and asking we finally found it, but was told that since they did so well last year they made it a year ’round store. Very little Christmas stuff.

Lunch (late) at Cracker Barrell and that wasn’t the best meal we had ever had there. but I did find 3 Christmas gifts so it was it was a good stop. After that a stop at Boot Barn where a good purchase was made. I do love the smell of that store. Leather is always a down to earth, homey smell. Finally home. Dottie got her car and off she went to home and Max, the toy poodle who was probably very upset with her for leaving him.

Today’s story: MY CHRISTMAS PUP

It’s Christmas and I’m happy because I got a little puppy. It’s a floppy little puppy of my very very own; Oh, he’s hopping and he’s skipping and he’s flopping and he’s flipping, and he’s sitting and he’s nipping on a little rubber bone.

Oh, his tummy’s sort of tubby and his tail is sort of stubby and his head is sort of moppy,, oh, I love my little pup. Yes, I love my little puppy, little tubby, floppy puppy, (even though he made a puddle and I had to wipe it up).

Have a great Friday evening and a wonderful, safe, healthy, weekend
