FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2024

Mostly sunny, with a slight breeze. Beautiful leaves occasionally floating down as the trees shed their spring and summer beauty for the late fall and winter. Like the bears, squirrels, and chipmunks, they “hibernate for the winter. The trees and plants go dormant for the winter. A period of rest. Right now it is 74 degrees and the time is 4:41 p.m.

Tonight we are dining on Caesar Chicken and Veggie salad. A simple meal but also nourishing. I believe next week the temperatures start going down and it will be time for the winter meals, roasts, stews, ham and beans, etc. I am looking forward to some of them. My last stew I learned that grilling veggies shouldn’t be used in stew…..it comes out like mush. But it did taste good.

This weekend we might get to go to a craft sale/show. There is one someplace off Clinton Highway and Merchant Drive. I will have to watch the TV and see if I can get the correct address. Of course, we have a ton of things to do around the house so we shall see how far we get with the craft show Idea. I am good either way. This show is supposed to be quite large. We shall see. There is also one downtown Knoxville and that one is also a large one. A busy time of the year for sure.

Sierra is waiting for Tina to get home. Tina will be here in about fifteen minutes. No major plans for the evening, just TV, We need to finish watching some of our recordings so that will take up the evening.

Quote of the day: “Ideal conversation must be an exchange of thought, and not, as many of those who worry most about their short comings believe, an eloquent exhibition of wit or oratory.” Emily Post, 1873 – 1960, American Writer, Socialite.

I remember, as a child growing up, Emily Post set the rules for manners and etiquette. I think that, maybe, some, if not most, of them should still be followed.

Have a wonderful rest of your Friday and a fantastic, adventurous, relaxing, enjoyable and fun weekend.

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 2024

A mostly cloudy day with the sun peeking our for bit now and then. There is a very slight breeze. The time is 4:22 p.m. and the temperature is 79 Degrees. The house stays a bit cooler, especially when the sun isn’t out a lot, warming the living room. but, it isn’t bad. i have a sweater on and that makes it all good.

The week has gone so fast. Tomorrow is Friday already, and I still have things I want to get done before the weekend. I believe Saturday morning we are going to make blankets. I guess that depends of Bonnie and if she comes over or not. We have a few we want to get made. Right now the blankets will go to the flood victims from the Helene Flooding. All are needed. Right now the biggest need is laborers with skills in carpentry, plumbing, roofing, landscaping, electrical, welding, etc. Donations of their time and donations of plywood, and building supplies are needed the most. It will take months, if not years, to get the whole flood area back to some what normal. There are still people without electricity, homes, etc. and NO ADDRESSES. That seems so strange to me, but then, there are no mailboxes, homes, buildings, so I guess there would be no address to leave the mail. Some places no longer have a post office.

I talked to Jeff today. He was at work. I asked what the temperature was there. He said that it was 28 degrees, clear and lots of stars shining in a night sky. They are thee hours behind us, so it was 4:00 a.m. there. In Vegas, around 11:00 a.m. I believe it was 50 something. They are having fall weather while we are having spring. Maybe next week we will get the fall weather.

Quote of the day: “If God who gives prayer, then God often gives it in the form of gratitude, and gratitude itself, when received attentively in prayer, is healing to the heart. Prayer is such a mysterious business for something so ordinary and everyday.” Roberta Bondi, Contemporary American Educator, Writer

Have a great rest of your Thursday. Make it a pleasant, productive, cheerful, safe, and fun day.

Today is HUMP DAY! The camel came over my text messages and told me so. Today is supposed to be 80 plus degrees, but so far it is 72 degrees. We have had a couple of small rain showers and that might be what is keeping it cool. The weekend is said to be a bit cooler, down to 72 or so. I wonder where Fall went? I do believe we had a few days of it, then back to summer temperatures. Now, our west it is cooler to cold. Las Vegas is to have a high of 63 today! Those poor people are freezing! Emily said that it is really cold at her home in California, close to Sacramento.

Not a great deal of news. Trump won the election, which is great. I prayed that God would put in the white house who He wanted, so I am believing that Trump is his choice. I to think that he will accomplish more then Harris would in getting some of the major issues settled.

Crafts tonight so have to get dinner on the table. And, it looks like it might pour again any moment.

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 2024

November is here, and it feels like June. It is 80 degrees, sunny, slight breeze and there are a few fluffy clouds floating around. The leaves have been floating down, like a shower, all green, yellow, golden, red, burgundy, tan and brown. It is a very pretty sight. Yes, the grass is slowly getting covered with all the leaves. Soon time for the kids and puppy dogs to enjoy the leaves, especially if they get raked up into nice piles. The fun of youth.

Even though it is on the warm side, I have stew in the crock pot. It just sounded good, and once started, it will cook all day and when we are ready for dinner, it will be also. I do like the crock pot! This will be tonight’s and tomorrow night’s dinner.

November is busy month as is December. There are birthdays and Thanksgiving; craft to work on and the craft fairs, plays, parades and parties. And maybe “winter weather” by Christmas. So many things to do and get accomplished before the end of the year. It would be nice to have all our small projects finished by December 31st. We could. then, start the new year with new projects!

The Vols are keeping Tammy busy as she works the concession stand when they have a home game. She likes it as it gets her in to the games plus often times concerts and other events. She is one very ambitious lady and always busy with something. Especially the five dogs. Of course Jerry is also very busy, especially with the five dogs.

We had a busy weekend… Tina got a body wave in her hair, so now is curly and cute. we made it to Karns and dropped off a bunch of stuff, went to Knoxville and did a couple of errands, stopped in at Dottie’s and dropped off something for her. She has a bug so didn’t want to share it with us. She was horse, so I offered to get the horse some hay and oats. She preferred Musinex. She said she felt better today. We popped in at Jerry’s to drop some things off. He was doing yard work and trying to get done so he could go watch the Vols Game. They won.

Sunday was church, then home. We worked on a project and watched TV, etc. Since they time change, we were tired even though we supposedly got an extra hours sleep. When they change the time, they neglect to tell the animals. Sierra is use to breakfast at an early time, like between 5:00 and 6:00 a.m., so we were up! It was much closer to 4:30 a.m. Yesterday and today she was just fine with the 5:00 a.m. breakfast.

Quote of the day: “Encouragement is being a good listener, being positive, letting others know you accept them for who they are. It is offering hope, caring about the feelings of another, understanding.” Gigi Graham Tchividjian, 1945 – American Writer, Speaker, D. Billy Graham.

Have a great rest of your Tuesday. Make it a friendly, cheerful, productive, and fun one.
