Sunny, slight breeze, a few white clouds, warm, 81 degrees 5:13 p.m. A beautiful day. It started our overcast and a bit foggy, then gradually turned into a beautiful sunny afternoon. The weatherperson said no rain until next week sometime. That is sad as we do need the rain badly. But, we will be very thankful for what little bit we got and whatever we get in the future.

Tonight is Crafts so am hoping several show up and we get several blankets done. I have a tote and a garbage bag full of tie blankets, the tote is ones to be made and the bag is fill of ones made and washed and ready to go. The back of the SUV is still full of blanket kits waiting for loving hands to put them together. All are welcome to come and tie. A couple of thousand miles might make you late, but prayers are always welcome.

It has been a quiet day, I spent a large part of the day working on a sign in sheet for tonight. I use to have a program that did all of that but I don’t seem to have it now. So after trying to make the computer do what I wanted I ended up taking one that it had and would let me change, printing it , taking my whiteout tape and covering the three lines I didn’t want, then printing it again. It looks pretty good. I will keep working on learning how to do this the proper way. I have to admit , I found things on this computer that I have never seen before. Not that any of them helped me.

Sierra is laying on the arm of the couch, looking at Bill watering. She watches from a distance as I think she thinks he will squirt her or something. Never mind that there is a wall with windows between him and his hose and her. You can tell how exciting things are here.

Quote of the day: ‘Women don’t want a divided life…They recognize that career is not enough; they want to be interconnected with people. They want to keep growing throughout their lives, adjusting as needed to different circumstances. They want to live a balanced life.” Mary Ellen Ashcroft, 1952 – American Fiction writer.

Have a great rest of your hump day. Make it a wonderful, cheerful, productive, ambitious, and fun day.

Cloudy, maybe a shower or two, still, 74 Degrees 3:51 p.m.

Monday sped away and I didn’t get to my blog. I had bible study in the morning and, believe me, it is going to be a good one. We will meet every other Monday and it lasts an hour and a half to two hours. We are studying Revelation. There is a lot of research gone into this study as well as though and prayers. I believe it will be a great experience. This group has been studying Revelation for 2 years and is now starting chapter 10 or 11. It is an in dept study.

Sunday we celebrated Dottie’s birthday with a cookout at Jerry and Tammy’s. Tammy had something else planned but the weather didn’t cooperate so plans changed to great hamburgers, French Fries, salad and yummy hummingbird birthday cake. It was so fun and food was yummy as always. and the company is always good. Dottie’s granddaughter was there so that made the event even better. Of course the dogs were there to help with the celebration. They are always sociable, fun, and entertaining.

Saturday Bonnie came over and we made two blankets. I should say her and Tina made two blankets. I ironed. Now I need to order Faultless starch, (the old fashion cooked style) so I can do my doilies and the angles that need washing and starching. They are so pretty but have been put is for a couple of years as they need cleaning. I thought that a cleaners would do that but they don’t. I finally checked with Amazon and they have the starch so that is my next project. It will be nice to have them done and up for Christmas.

Yesterday, besides the bible study, I took everything off the counters and thoroughly cleaned them. Sunday evening Tina dropped a glass and it smashed into a million pieces. We did out best to clean it all up Sunday evening, but then I wanted to make sure we got it all. I found several peaces that flew behind things and were very small. So we now have a very clean counter as well as everything on the counter is freshly washed, wiped, cleaned and sparkling. It looks nice. Now to keep it that way.

Have a great rest of your Tuesday. Make it a cheerful, productive, active, enjoyable and fun day.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 2024

Today is Friday the 13th. Now to many that is an unlucky day. To me, Friday the 13th is a lucky day. My son, Jerry was born on this date, in February 1970, and my granddaughter was born on this date in October, 1989. And a grandson born on this date, August 1993. Yes, I believe the 13th of the months are pretty lucky.

The sun is shinning, the breeze is moving the leaves and branches. The temperature is 84 degrees and it is 4:52 p.m. I am seeing some yellow leaves on the trees across the street. I am not sure if that is the sign that fall is on its way or if it is because it is so dry. We have had no rain. Hurricane Francis didn’t help us either. She either gave out havoc, tearing down buildings and trees, drowning yards, streets, etc. everywhere, or she totally missed sending even a drop to some of the ones who really would appreciate a little of the rain. Tina just got home, She said that it was starting to rain in Knoxville. Maybe it will find its way to Oak Ridge, and our yard.

I love to watch Sierra when Tina get home from work. She runs to the door like a puppy dog, meowing all the way, telling Tina all about her day and demanding attentions. Petting is always so nice after not having her to annoy for hours and hours. Also, Tina feeds her dinner and she is waiting for that for sure.

The weekend is here and I believe we are going to make tie blankets on Saturday, go to Karns with some stuff, put something in the crockpot, and do laundry. Oh, yes, some diamond art should be put in the mix someplace. Sunday is church and I believe we will go visit the kids and the dogs. It is Dottie’s birthday so I am sure we shall celebrate it one way or the other. She will be 21 again. That is exciting.

Quote of the day: I like living. I have sometimes been wildly despairingly acutely miserable, racked with sorrow, but through it all I still know quite certainly that just to be alive is a grand thing.” Agatha Christie, 1890 – 1976, British Mystery Writer, Playwright.

Have a wonderful rest of your Friday, and a beautiful weekend. For those of you on the west coast, I hope the fires are soon out and the air quality improves quickly. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 2024

Today it is cloudy. Rain expected this evening, or tonight, or tomorrow. Memphis seems to get the majority of the rain from Hurricane Florence. At least for Tennessee. Of course, that can change in the blink of an eye. We could sure use the rain as, once again, everything is looking forlorn, dry and just not happy. That is the grass, trees, and flowers. Also, the animals who drink from the streams, lakes, ponds, creeks and rivers would love to have a fresh supply of drinking water.

Crafts was good last night. We got three blankets made, and there was only five of us. It was fun just chatting with others. One lady is a retired school teacher. She is very nice, soft spoken and kind. Her husband is also nice. He came and helped set up chairs for us, then was willing to take them down when we were finished. But one of the other men said not to worry, they would take care of it. It will be nice when things get situated there and we get out own room and can leave the tables and chairs set up. But that will be a couple of months I believe. The rooms and classrooms are being reorganized and arraigned.

Today I cleaned my desk and filled the shredder with the weeks mail. It seems like everyone wants a donation, needs money, has a great story, needs a vote to go with the money, needs two pages or more of opinions and money, and poor pitiful everyone needs money also. I shredded them all. Now the shredder full and my holder on the desk is empty. So nice. I think I should shred when the mail comes in, not wait a week, then shred. I do go through it and keep out the things I think are important, then the rest goes in the holder until I get to it, one day during the week.

Time for me to head for the kitchen. I have to say, the day goes fast and dinner time comes around quickly. I do manage to keep busy for which I am very thankful. There is always things to do around here.
