Wednesday, January 10, 2024 Sunny, Breezy, Cold, 42 degrees 5:18 p.m.

Winter is still here but tomorrow is supposed to be the nicest day fro at least a week, with temperatures in the upper 50’s. then we go to the 30’s and below for the highs. Winter for sure. Rain on Friday.

Nothing exciting today. I worked upstairs finishing putting away all the Christmas wrappings and cards and such. The guest room is now back to looking like a welcoming room instead of a throw all room. It took some doing as we also have stuff from the TV and craft rooms up there.

Speaking of those room, Tina talked to Mark today and he told her that his partner wouldn’t be able to work on Saturday so they would have to put off installing the floors until a week from Saturday. I am so disappointed. This is the second time they haven’t been able to do the floors when promised. Tina told him O.K. but no more putting it off and definitely no more money. We shall see. Meanwhile, Sierra is really going to be unhappy as she keeps going back to the TV room and looking for the recliners and her stuff and everything. She wants the recliners back there so she can curl up in our laps for cozy naps. Her world is upside down. Maybe the 13th.

Tuesday, January 9, 2024 Mostly Dark Clouds Windy Cold 52 Degrees 5:36 p.m.

The wind is cold and the temperature is supposed to get down to 38 degrees. The weather man said that we should have snow flurries here but nothing that will amount to anything as far as being a real snow. I am happy with that,

Today was very quiet compared to yesterday. I haven’t seen a dog being walked or a person being walked. People stayed indoors as for most of the day we had heavy rain, then the rain subsided and the wind came up, The wind was and is, cold. Tomorrow is to be colder and still very windy. Possible showers.

This afternoon I went to the shoulder doctor. My left shoulder has a bone spur that has grown quite a bit this past year. So I believe this spring or early summer I will be having a shoulder replacement. It should keep my left arm in a sling for about three weeks and the recovery should be complete and easy. I do believe that is a better solution then getting steroid shots every few months. I got the steroid shots this afternoon, then will go have a cat scan in the near future and then the surgery after that.

MONDAY, JANUARY 8, 2023

Monday, January 8, 2023 Mostly Cloudy Cold Breezy 48 Degrees 3:44 p.m.

A very quiet, cold, windy, and a bit rainy weekend. We stayed home all weekend!! That almost never happens so was quite different. Since it was cold and windy outside it was very nice to stay indoors where it was warm and not windy. As the rest of the country is experiencing the winter weather, so are we. Though, we haven’t had snow here as yet.

Today has been exciting! About lunch time, noonish, I had finished sweeping and mopping the kitchen floor, so came out to the living room to work a bit on the computer. I looked out the window and there was a police car parked in front. Also a dark gray SUV and a light or white SUV. I looked up the street and there was a group of people gathered around the mailbox brick square, and another police car just on the other side of the drive way. In the drive way was a gray sedan with what looked like a yellow strip above the passenger side window. I watched for a while, then called Julie and told her she shouldn’t of moved as there was action across the driveway and i couldn’t see it all from my place. She said that she was sorry as we both could of had a great view from her place. So we chatted and I watched until Bill came home. I hung up as Bill was knocking on my door. He wanted to know what was going on? I said, “Well, you just drove in and the police stopped you. What did they say?” He replied, ” This is an active investigation. Move on.” T which I said, “Now we both know.” So he left and went home. I kept watching and talking to Julie. As I watched I saw them take the tall, 20-ish young man out of there, in handcuffs. He was put in the back of a police car. A few minutes later a younger lady, dressed in green shirt or jacket, blue jeans and a baseball cap went to the light gray SUV and sat down. I couldn’t see if she was doing anything. Then after a bit she got back out and joined the group at the mailbox square. In a bit another man came out and went to the same SUV, got in the back seat and came out with blue rubber gloves. He handed the lady a pair and they left going towards the townhouse across the driveway. Soon another of the group went to the other SUV and got out some paperwork, and went back to the mailbox square. Another man went to the light gray SUV and got out gloves and something else and headed towards the townhouse. After about half an hour the first guy came out with two garbage bags, appearing quite heavy and about half to three quarters of the way full. The bags were placed in the light gray SUV. They all milled around the mailbox square for a bit longer, then the one police officer and his patrol car left. There was a few more trips to and from cars, then the man who lives in that town house came into view. I believe he was in the car parked in the driveway. They talked for several minutes, and he was handed what looked like a shoulder strap purse or handbag. They talked some more. then the two SUVs left, then one of the police cars and after a few minutes the other left. The car in the driveway had left earlier but but am not sure who was driving it. Finally the whole group was gone and the quiet was returned to the neighborhood. Julie and I believe the young man who was put in handcuffs was dealing drugs. There is always a lot of traffic going in and out of there.

About all I can say that was enough excitement for the day. Now I am curious as to what else goes on over there. It seems like there are several people living there and it is only a two bedroom place. And they have three Pitts and no fenced in yard for them to run and play in. They get to go out and run around here a bit but neither of the guys picks up the poop when they go in our yard, Bill’s yard, Charles’s yard, Julie’s yard or anyone else’s yard. When the one girl takes them out, she picke’s it up and always caries a bag to put it in.

That is enough for one Monday. Wishing my Great Grandson, Deagan, a Very Happy 15th Birthday!

Have a beautiful, cheerful, enjoyable, productive, and fun Monday

FRIDAY, JANUARY 5, 2024

Friday, January 5, 2024 Mostly Cloudy Cold Breezy Rain Tonight 45 Degrees 3:28 p.m.

It is a cold, raw feeling day. Also a quiet day. I have only seen two dogs going for a walk, one being Shadow, the German Shepard who walks, or runs, drags his master. He is beautiful, about a year and a half old and full of energy. It is so entertaining when he sees a squirrel or another dog. I doubt his master would agree with that, but for anyone watching, it is great!

Since the weekend is supposed to be rainy and windy and cold, we are going to the grocery store when Tina gets home from work. We don’t need much but do need the things we run out of all the time, like bread, cat treats, etc. dryer sheets, etc. If we get them this evening we won’t have to worry about going out in the cold, rain, wind, etc. Maybe even snow! Wouldn’t that be fun?

Jerry came over yesterday late afternoon and put my bird watching feeder up, and got it going. Today I haven’t seen many birds. Just the red headed woodpecker. I forgot that I have to turn it on to record so didn’t get him on the camera. I will be more careful from now on.. He also put batteries in the back door blink and got my camera that watches in here. I need to ask him how I can check it as I don’t know where to look. Tina has it on her camera also and I doubt she has had time to look at it either. So many new toys and all so fun. by the time he left it was past time for me to fix dinner. That didn’t take to long as we had chicken drumsticks, a rice dish and salad. I air fried the drumsticks and they were good. The only way to fix them speedily. Then news and a great program, PBS Ancestry and Celebrities. Something like that. It came on at 7:00 p.m., I believe. I will pay more attention to the title next week and get it right.

Now it is the weekend and I still haven’t totally accomplished all I wanted to have done. I can’t believe I can save, and collect, so many papers with so many silly notes, that I don’t take and put where they belong, like addresses, phone numbers, passwords, etc. My New Years resolution…put all notes in their proper place asap after writing them down. Anyhow, a quiet weekend is planned, Church on Sunday morning….

Quote of the day: “I avoid looking forward or backward, and try to keep looking upward.” Charlotte Bronte 1816-1855 British writer. Her verse: If i rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there Your hand will guide me, Your right hand will hold me fast. Psalm 139, 9-10.

Have a great rest of your Friday, and a safe, adventurous, eventful, and fun weekend. Remember, say yes to New Adventures!
