Wednesday, May 3, 2023 Sunny Windy Cool Beautiful 65 Degrees 4:14 p.m.

Another beautiful spring day. It has been sunny all day long with no signs of rain. Maybe tomorrow the rain will make an appearance. The weatherman said that we should reach 70 tomorrow and that would be nice.

I saw on the computer news that Tuesday Morning is having a close out sale. I didn’t realize that they were going out of business. That is a shame. i liked the one in North Las Vegas as I could find items there that I couldn’t find anyplace else. The one in Knoxville is much bigger but not as interesting items wise. There are a lot of stores closing and that is a shame. I saw that in either Washington or Oregon all the Walmart stores are closed. I find that very hard to believe. I know that the stores want everyone to shop on line but I dislike shopping for most things on line. Clothes and shoes especially.

The new flowerbed plants are looking good and seem to be happy and thriving. I hope they last all season. I know that the azaleas will but am not sure about the rest. I think they are seasonal. I think the holly will last year round also. It should be pretty around Christmas time.

For dinner tonight we are having a Simple Greek Salad consisting of cucumbers, spinach, arugula, and kale, cherry tomatoes, feta cheese, scallions, and black olives. I am adding roasted chicken to it. What else I am not sure but I know that we will probably have a roll or something on that order to go with it. The salad, minus the chicken, is 128 calories. This comes from the Mediterranean Refresh recipe book. I didn’t find a recipe for a mid night snack.

Tuesday, May 2, 2023 Mostly Cloudy Windy Cool 60 Degrees 4:11 p.m.

Another cool, windy, sunny/cloudy spring day in East Tennessee . The pollen is creating problems for people with allergies. Today is trees, grasses and weeds causing the sneezing, runny noses and itchy eyes. Other then the runny nose, I am fine. That is normal for me as I have had a runny nose for years. I do feel sorry for those who are suffering with the allergies, having to go get shots and are miserable. I still think I should of invested in the Kleenex company years ago.

WE bought the dark purple grapes last Saturday so have been nibbling on them throughout the day. I love them and they are healthier then cookies and candy for nibbling. Cosco had five pounds for $7.89. they go good in salads, Tina takes them in her lunch, and I nibble on them during the day. Sierra thinks they are fun to bat around if she can find one that has been dropped. All healthy.

Tina filled the bird feeders Sunday and the suet is already gone. We decided to not put any more suet out as it attracts the starlings and they eat it all and create a mess in the process. So that feeder will be put away until winter. I think that is when they should go out anyway. To feed the birds during the cold, story winder days. ???

Bill said that his hummingbirds are back so we will have to get out hummingbird feeder out. They are so pretty. They draw the butterflies also. WE put a tightly wrapped cloth dipped in dawn dish detergent around the bottom of the hummingbird feeder pole to keep the ants away. it works, believe it or not.

Have a great rest of your Tuesday. Make it a bountiful, plentiful, peaceful, pleasant and fun day.

FRIDAY, MAY 1, 2023

Friday, May1, 2023 Cloudy Windy Cool 60 Degrees 5:19 p.m.

Monday, the first day of the work week and the first day of the fifth month. It is the 121 day of this year. I must say, so far this year has gone fast and has been filled with events, both good and bad. That is life.

Today will be a short blog as I hit my toe and or side of my foot and now it is turning a purplish blue, I guess to match my jeans. It is also starting to swell which is making my shoe (flip flop) feel tight and hurt a bit. I think this is a situation that will call for an ice pack and the foot up. The recliner should work, at least for a bit. Sierra will appreciate the lap when I get in the recliner.

Weather is cool and a sweater is called for, even in the house. I miss the sun shining in the windows to help warm the place up. maybe tomorrow. i think the rest of the week will be about like today with rain towards the end of the week. We are so fortunate as our weather is perfect compared to so much of the country. No complaints.

I hope that you had a fabulous weekend and a fantastic Monday. Make the rest of your day a cheerful, joyous, positive and fun day.

FRIDAY, APRIL 28, 2023

Friday, April 23, 2023 Partly sunny Breezy No rain at the moment 73 degrees 2:52 p.m.

We have had a couple of thunder storms, rain showers, sunshine and wind. Now it is mostly sunny and a bit breezy. The little birds go hide during the heavy rain but I see the bigger birds out hunting worms and such. The squirrels go hide also.

Tina worked ten hours a day for four days so she could have today off. we have done some of the things she wanted to do. It has been a relaxing yet busy day. We took coats to the cleaners, took a load of stuff to Karns, set out stuff for the semi annual clean up that will show up next week even though they were due today. Most of our stuff and Julie’s stuff has been taken by passer by. ll was usable things but not needed by us.

Allergies have been hitting around this week. Now it is grasses, some trees and i can’t remember what else. All I have is a runny nose but have had that for years and years, so doubt it has anything to do with the grass or trees or weeds, etc. They are all different out here from Nevada and my nose ran there also.

Quote of the day: “I know a little suffering is good for the soul, but somebody must be trying to make a saint out of me.” My calendar.

Have a great Friday and a fantastic weekend. Make both enjoyable, positive, safe, and fun
