THE LIVING ROOM THE WE TURNED INTO THE OFFICE. MUCH BETTER USE OF THE WINDOW FOR VIEWING BIRDS, SQUIRRELS, CHIPMUNKS AND DOGS

Wednesday, July 14, 2021 Sunny, breezy, 80 degrees, 6:52 p.m. Lovely evening here.

I have spend the afternoon working on “The Family Tree”. My cousin in Iowa was requesting some information so I went digging and found what she wanted plus a bunch more. I guess I should get busy and get back in the archives of our family tree. I found it so interesting to read things that I have had and hadn’t read or even looked at. I didn’t know that there is a Nevada Iowa. Or a Signal Mountain Tennessee. I will have to look at the atlas and find these places.

Today was busy. Tina had a doctor’s appointment so that took up the middle of the morning. First Comes Coffee, and the news, then shower & dress & breakfast, then we pressed with the rest of the day. So by the time we got home, ate lunch, it was time for her to go to work. Now that I have done the Family Tree thing it is time for me to get busy and do my household duties. Tomorrow is BINGO so have to be on the ball and get things done in the morning. I might have to cut the morning coffee, news and cuddling with the cat, short.

Have a great evening. Make it a pleasant, cheerful, relaxing, and blessed evening

The Christmas Cactus a few months ago. It blooms so lovely even in Tennessee. Is It Christmas in July?

Tuesday, July 13, 2021 Mostly Cloudy Windy, Humidity at 60% Temperature 81 Degrees, 2:32 p.m.

The past four days have been busy ones. Friday I missed PT because of a bug I managed to acquire from I don’t know where. I was trying to blame it on Tina’s Spaghetti but since the neighbor who we shared it with didn’t have any affects and Tina didn’t have any affects I decided it was a bug. So I just laid around and dozed, watched TV and read. She had a lunch date so was gone while I slept. Saturday it was rainy but I felt much better so was up and going, doing laundry, floors, housework in general. Sunday was church and company and that took care of that day. Monday, yesterday, we had to go to Knoxville so spent most of the day there goofing off and doing a bit of shopping. I did have PT and did that first thing.

We went to Belk’s, which is a lot like Macy’s or Dillard’s and looked around for some summer weight slacks for Tina for work. She also needed shoes as standing on that cement really is hard on the feet and legs and back. Good shoes help. she found 2 pair of shoes that she hopes is going to be perfect. Also a pair of slacks, Capri’s. I found a pair of shoes, 2 pair of Capri’s and a dress to wear around the house. We also went to Penny’s and found nothing. There I managed to drop my glasses so had to go back and fortunately they had been found and turned into the cashier. The lens had come out but it was there also. Finally home after a stop at Kroger’s. We managed to miss Walmart.

This morning we went to the eye doctor’s office and I got the glasses fixed. Am so thankful that they were found and fixable.

Am now working on the Family Tree again as my Iowa cousin has contacted me with some information and also asking for information. I think this is interesting and fun getting to know more people and cousins. I don’t has as much information on my Dad’s side of the family as I do on my Mom’s and my husbands.

Question:?: What does a Cedar tree and a seal have in common?

Answer: tomorrow

Have a super fun, interesting, productive, cheerful, joyous and blessed Tuesday!

AN ALLIGATOR PICTURE TAKEN BY MY SON WHILE ON VACATION

Thursday, July 8, 2021 4:14 p.m. Partly cloudy breezy 85 degrees possibility of thunderstorms

A sort of lazy day as I have nothing exciting or productive to report. Making the bed and doing the dishes doesn’t count and neither does warming up leftovers . We have just watched TV and played games on the Computer. Tina did a bit of Diamond Art and I went through e-mails. Oh, yes, the cats have been brushed and played with. They are a bit demanding when they want attention.

One of the things I say is be Joyous, be happy . In case the reader doesn’t know the difference, I will tell you as I see it. Happiness depends on what is going on around you, maybe your mood or watching a good movie or reading a great book; possibly a good experience. Some people say that a location or action is their happy place. Webster’s dictionary says it is being glad, fortunate, content, or lucky, What or where is yours? Then there is joy. Joy or being joyous is something that bubbles up from within. It is a constant and doesn’t seem to depend on what we are doing, or where we are, or who is with us. It is just there and bursts forth whenever it wants to. Webster’s dictionary says Joy is gladness, exhilaration of spirits. It is that and more.

I hope that you are in your happy place and experience joy always. I believe the frame of mind has a great deal to do with both. Have a fantastic Thursday. Fill it with joy and happiness, fun and positiveness.

A RAINY DAY IN OAK RIDGE TN

Wednesday, July 7, 2021 3:45 p.m. cloudy, showers, breezy, 77 degrees muggy

A beautiful rainy day. We found that a bird, a scarlet tanager, has made a nest and laid an egg in one of the hanging baskets. We shall leave it alone and watch for the little one to hatch and join the flock at the bird feeder. My granddaughter quit putting hanging plants on her porch because the birds kept building nests and ruining her plants. I now know what she was talking about, but I think it will be fun to watch the the new family. We shall see.

I have noticed that here in Oak Ridge a lot of businesses still have landline phones. They have an advantage over the cell phones as they don’t have to be charged and they stay on the desk and in the office. Also, it is easier to transfer a call. They have several lines so that the secretary can send the call to the correct office or place. They may be old fashioned but still very useful. As far as I know one still needs a landline to send and receive a fax. Now don’t quote me as I am not sure about that.

Here in the Secret City there are a lot of things that haven’t been brought up to what the big cities consider Modern Times. I find it very charming that there are so many things that are still like they use to be when I was growing up and when my children were growing up. The hustle and bustle isn’t here, just a normal day type atmosphere. When you go in the stores the clerks always say hello and ask how you are doing? Then they ask if they can help you find what ever you might be looking for? They will explain items, or how to do something, or tell you who you might call for a particular project. They always say Good by, have a nice day and hurry back. The same on the street, parking lot or walking down the sidewalk. Always a smile and a howdy.

Have a smiling, cheerful, fun, caring and blessed Wednesday.
