Wednesday, June 14, 2023 Cloudy Windy Maybe Rain Nice 81 Degrees 3:55 P.M.

It has been a quiet day around here. Even the birds haven’t been very active. I saw the chipmunk but not the squirrel. I guess that we might be getting a storm later on. I have noticed that when there is a storm brewing the birds, squirrels and chipmunk aren’t around as much. I know that some of them live in the cedar tree but I can’t see their nests so have no clue if they are “at home” or not. We need rain so we would welcome the moisture.

I hear that the Golden Knights won the Stanley Cup. That is great and an honor for Las Vegas. I didn’t realize there were so many fans of them back here, but apparently they are one very popular team. Las Vegas is working hard on acquiring big sports teams. That is one way to boost the money flow and keep the city in the spot light of entertainment.

Knoxville is busy breaking ground and starting to build a baseball stadium for the Smokies. That will be a fun and lively spot. They will use the stadium for other events when the Smokies aren’t using it. I believe private clubs, ( Schools, entertainers, etc.) parties, etc will be able to rent it for their special events. I know that it will be well used for Knoxville and surrounding areas.

Have a great rest of your hump day. Make it a productive, positive, possible, pleasurable and fun day.

Tuesday, June 13, 2023 Mostly Sunny Windy Warm 70 Degrees 5:00 p.m.

A beautiful day. It is still spring, the wind is blowing and the temperature is warm but not hot. No rain today, maybe tomorrow. We had clouds this morning but they went away about mid morning and the sun has been bright and warm.

Today was laundry day I got that done by noon, then worked on some other projects. I will package up all the bedding that we want to give and have it ready for Bill to take to the lay who collect things for the mission for the Appellations. It will be nice to have it off the couch. I am glad that it will go to folks who really need the items.

Well, we will be car less until Thursday afternoon when Tina get off work and can pick up the car. Chuck called her and said that it would be ready Thursday when she got off work. it hasn’t been bad being without a car but one learns to make do with what is in the pantry and freezer. Bill picked up coffee for us as we ran out, and for that we are very grateful. That is a a must to start the day with.

Nothing else going on today so I believe it is Quote time. “A Little Boy’s Prayer: Dear God, take care of the whole world. And please, God, take care of yourself, or we’re all sunk!” My Calendar

Have a wonderful rest of your Tuesday.. Make it a energetic, positive, active, productive and fun day.

Monday, June 12 2023 Mostly Cloudy Cool Slight Breeze 68 Degrees 3:57 p.m.

A cool and cloudy day, but also a dry one, for the most part. I think we had a shower earlier. Last night we had a couple of heavy rain storm and high winds. Here, that is all we got. Knoxville had the same plus hail as did most of East Tennessee. Crossville had a tornado that did some damage but no one hurt or killed as of this morning’s news. We were in two tornado warnings, an hour or so apart. They could be seen in the distance but didn’t ouch down, and they were in the East end of town, not near us. I am so thankful.

Since neither Tina or I slept well last night we are both tired today. I have made an eye doctor appointment for next week and an ear appointment for July 20th, so have accomplished something. Other then that I went through a bunch of bible study notes from 2003 through 2013 and put them in a book that had been started back then. Then shredded all the odds and ends . The next project is to return to working on pictures and getting them in order and possible in books or attached to stories. That is very time consuming but fun.

The weekend was quiet, except for the storms. We cleaned out the linen closet and have a good amount of throws, sheets, etc to give to Whom ever. Probably the shelter or one of the church for their helping hands needs. All are good and clean and ready to go. I think we collect throws!.

We watched a Sandra Bullock movie and binge watched The Rookie and The Rookie Feds. So fun. We will next watch another one we have missed a lot of. C.S.I. LA or New Orleans. or Washington, DC.. It will be nice to catch up with them and we know that with the writers strike and the other people on strike we won’t have much new to watch this summer and fall and maybe even winter. Reruns are great.Quote of the day: “There are three stages of life: Youth, maturity and “My, you’re looking good”! ” Dwight D. Eisenhower

have a great rest of your Monday. Make it a goofy, silly, cheerful and fun day.

THURSDAY, JUNE 8, 2923

Thursday, June 8, 2023 Partly Sunny Slight breeze Warm 79 Degrees 4:33 p.m.

A beautiful day, but no rain. Tina will have to water again tonight. The yard does look nice, the flowers are so pretty. and add so much color , making it all cheerful.

Well, today our car went to the car doctor and he put her in the car hospital. The car had a leak that we couldn’t decide if it was the air conditioning or the radiator. Pamela came over and after looking at the carport floor, touching the moist spot, she googled it. Google said that it was the radiator and or hose. So I texted “The Mayor” and asked him where he took his car and he said he took it to Chris and gave address and phone number. Tina called and he yes, he would look at it. I asked Charles this morning if he would lead me to where Bill got his cars fixed and he said sure, so off we went. He stopped at Church Car Care. I said that it was supposed to be Chris’s place. He said that this was where Bill got his cars repaired when needed, that Chris’s was a towing place and storage. So I left it at Chucks and called Tina and told her. Chuck called this afternoon and said that it was the water pump. They will have to pull the timing chain to get to the water pump so will replace that while they are at it. It is costly but a necessity. We have no no major problems with this car since Tina bought it in September of 2010. Old changes, new tires and a battery. So no complaints on this. Just know that it is getting close to having to get a new car. Hopefully not until next year.

The rest of the day has been quiet. Am very thankful to Charles for guiding me to the correct place and bringing me back home. We have such awesome neighbors and are so thankful for each one.

Dinner tonight is hamburger patties, tater tots, spinach and jello with a cookie. Time to get that going.
