Thursday, August 31, 2023 Sunny Windy Dry Beautiful Warm 81 Degrees 3:55 p.m.

A beautiful day, a great day to be out and about. I am not out and about. I did that yesterday and it was an equally beautiful day. Weather here right now is awesome. I have one bird dining at the bird feeder and I believe ants have taken over the hummingbird feeder. I have seen only one hummingbird the past couple of days.

Since yesterday was my birthday, Sierra, the cat, gave me a mouse, fresh, just caught. That is the way to start the day. That is the only mouse I have seen since arriving in Tennessee! I told her that she was a very good kitty and thanked her for catching the mouse. Tina disposed of it outdoors someplace. Now we are looking to see where it got in at and so far haven’t found anyplace. I think that it may have come in one day when the door was open while bringing stuff in, like groceries.

I did get some very nice and useful gifts from very nice people. I got tickets to see the stage play, Tom Sawyer, A Phil Robertson daily book, a journal, a cat detective games, puzzles and stories book. a Lord’s Prayer scroll with stand, a kitchen towel and oven mitt, gift card to Panera’s, 2 games, all so much and so fun. Lots of cards and well wishes from so many people.

Yesterday was a fun day. Dottie and I visited, worked on the sewing machine, ate her yummy chicken casserole, dinner rolls, salad and pineapple up-side-down cake. So Good. Tina came when she got off work,, so Max got her attention. Then we left there and went to Parkside Grill and met Jerry and Tammy. We visited, I opened gifts, we ate. They have really good food. After all that it was back to Dottie’s for birthday cake, the pineapple up-side-down cake. Such a good cake. It was such a fun day.

Today I have done nothing worthwhile. I woke up feeling a bit nauseated so decided that I needed a day off so have been lazy, napped, watched TV, and that is about it. Now I am just tired, probably from just doing nothing.

Tuesday, August 29, 2023 Mostly Cloudy Slight Breeze Might Rain 79 Degrees 4:22 p.m.

A lovely day. We had a shower or two but nothing major. It has been a quiet day with only one hummingbird and two sparrows or wrens. It is still a bit humid but the weather lady said that tomorrow would be lovely. Less humidity. That would be perfect.

The sewing room didn’t get much attention today. I did the laundry and some light cleaning as I have let it go while working on that room. I will be gone tomorrow so no blog. Also no working on the sewing room. I have to tell you, the blog is much more fun. I had thought that the room could be painted on Friday but that won’t happened as there is still a lot of glue to get off the walls and I doubt I can accomplish that on Thursday. The steam thing helps a log but it is still slow going. I am also slow going.

Tina and the cane went to work today. She is better but still not 100%. That will take awhile I am sure. And I can almost guarantee she will feel better so go back to picking up things and carrying them / bending, stooping, etc. without thinking about how to do it all so will be back in the “hurt” mode again. I keep telling her there are tools and proper ways to do things but she thinks she is still 21 and able to do EVERYTHING! She said that Tylenol is her best friend today.

Monday, August 28. 2023 Cloudy Showers Cooler Nice 78 Degrees 4:23 p.m,

A very busy weekend here. Saturday was very hot so did what errands we had to do and came home. We got the rest of the “Sewing Room” unloaded, and did some other odd jobs. Jerry called and wanted to know if we wanted to go to the movies on Sunday. We said yes. He asked what one I wanted to see, so I mentioned the Stray Dog one as dogs are so cute and that should be a fun movie.

Sunday dawns and we get up moving. There is some last minutes things to do in the sewing room as Tammy and Jerry are going to move the shelves out for us. We invited them plus Dottie for dinner. Tina made Chicken Enchiladas in the crock pot. We had that plus salad, rolls and fruit. it was good but like the regular version much better. Anyhow in the process of doing everything Tina did something to her back and leg, so declined to go to the movies or do much else for the rest of the day. she was using the cane and hobbling around here. Had the ice pack and then the heating pad. She was miserable.

We went to the movie. Let me just say it was the worst movie I have ever seen! The dogs were cute. But the extremely foul language, acts vulgar acts were past disgusting. Yes, I was warned about the foul language but I didn’t think the whole movie would be that! Rated R indeed. Should be rated EXTRA R! Why anyone thinks sex, foul language, and just plane filth is needed to tell a story, carry on a conversation, or even say, is beyond me. It shows, I believe, lack of education, understanding of the use English language, or any other language, lack of morals, and complete disregard of human dignity. The end of that subject. Not one of the four of us liked it.

Other then the movie, the day was great, the dinner was great, and the company superb. It is always fun being with Jerry, Tammy and Dottie. Hope we do it again real soon.

Friday, August 25, 2023 HOT HUMID YUCKY WINDY Sunny 95 Degrees 4:45 p.m.

It is Friday and it is hot, muggy, humid, but there is a breeze. I am a bit concerned about the air conditioner as it is set at 73 but reads 77. The air coming out isn’t cold but it isn’t hot either. Just kind of luke warm. Maybe once the sun goes down it will recover. I Hope. I turned it up to 75.

The “sewing room” is nearly empty so we will be starting to remove wall paper this weekend. I hope. I have two load ready to go upstairs but will do one at a time, later on. After the sun goes down. I have everything put away so nothing will be sitting around cluttering up the place. It will be so nice to have this all done. I think Sierra will be also. She hates change and disruption.

Not much else news. Charles had a new roof put on today. I guess his was totally shot. It has had problems ever since he moved in. He has worked hard on his home and each thing he gets done just makes it that much better.
