Monday, November 20, 2023 Mostly Cloudy Cool Calm 65 Degrees 4:53 p.m.

It is a beautiful, cloudy, fall day. All outside is still with only one of the bird feeders moving. The Woodpecker was having an early dinner. We are expecting high winds tonight and rain tomorrow. WE have had some wind today but nothing major. I was going to go out and stain some wood frames but then the wind came up so decided to postpone that until another day. If we get rain they wouldn’t dry anyhow.

The weekend was good. Dillon finished our “Sewing room”. Now we have to wait for the floors and that will be January, I hope. He does such good work and the room looks great. Once the floors get in we can move the shelves and drawers back in there and, of course, the long table and do crafts, or whatever we want to do.

Saturday, after Dillon left, Tina and I went to the butcher shop and shopped a bit. Since they just opened, having bought it from the people who had it for 30 years, they didn’t have a large supply of anything as yet. No turkeys. But they are very nice and eager to pickup where the previous owner left off. The prices were the same and everything looked pretty much the same. They had painted and the place looked fresh.

After leaving there we went to Dottie’s, picked her up and went for a hamburger at Nick & Jane’s. They have great hamburgers, large, juicy and just perfect. After lunch we went to Joann’s and Tina did some purchasing. I bought one item. Dottie just looked at everything. After that we went to Walmart and did the normal shopping, then back to Dottie’s.

Dottie is such a good hairdresser so we asked her to cut our hair. I was going to let mine grow long so I could out it in a pony tail. I got it to where it would go into a small pony tail, Now it is short and manageable once again. Tina was also letting her hair grow out but gave up and had it cut short . We both look much better. At least it feels better. Dottie does a great job.

Sunday we went to church, the one that is just up the street from us. It is called the MILESTONE CHURCH. We liked it very much and plan on going back next Sunday. He preaches from the bible, and is well spoken, sincere and down to earth. The topic was “GIVING, but it wasn’t about tithes, but what was found in 1 Corinthians, chapters 2 and 3. About giving a smile when meeting someone in the store or on the street, a helping hand when one is needed, an kind word, a shoulder to lean on or cry on. Giving of one’s time and talents for the betterment of your fellowmen. He said that money is important also, but not the most important. We should give freely, not as a have to, but as a want to, and from the heart. He put it much more eloquently then I, but you get the jest.

After church we went to Jersey Mike’s and ordered a sub sandwich. We did this because he gives 20% of the profit from each sale to “feed the Hungry”. We were hungry and thought that was a good cause, helping others that are hungry.

Quote of the day: “What does man gain from all his labor at which he toils under the sun? ( (Ecclesiastes 1:3) ” My Calendar

Have a great rest of your Monday. Make it a joyful, safe, healthy, productive and fun day.
