Thursday, November 3, 2022 Clear Sunny Breezy 52 Degrees 11:02 a.m.

A beautiful Fall day. The weatherman said that we will have a high in the 70’s again today, which is about 10 degrees above average. He said that this should last through the middle of next week. I think most would like the more normal weather as it sure doesn’t feel like November, but if one looks at the heating bills, it is perfect weather. It is nice not having the air conditioner or the heater on.

Saturday is the big rival game between the University of Georgia Bull Dogs football team and the University of Tennessee Vols Hound Dogs football team. The fans are already pouring into Georgia, preparing for the game. They have their motor homes, camping gear, hotel rooms, etc. The clothing with T’s on it is flying off the shelves. Even the pets are dressed for this big event. The Vols’ are number one in the nation according to so many around here. I have never seen a state so totally behind a team unless it was major league. It totally amazes me. I understand that Georgia is also preparing for this game in the same way. The game is in Georgia. Oh, yes, I guess Texas A & M and Texas Tech are big on fans also. My son is a “Hook’em Horns Fan”.

Today is finish up the few things I didn’t get finished yesterday. Then I am thinking of making pumpkin bread or maybe cupcakes. That sounds good to me. Of course I will share. We need something different in the house. We have cookies, candy and pretzels. I need none of the above.

Quote of the day: Author and pastor Max Lucado says he used to be a “closet slob” with his attitude. “life is too short to match your socks, just buy longer pants.” Then….he got married.! My calendar.

Have a thrifty Thursday. Make it a thinking, thankful, thoughtful, terrific and fun day.

Blessings

Wednesday, November 2, 2022 Partly Cloudy Warm 63 degrees 11:35 a.m.

A nice day so far. It seems warmer then 63 outdoors. A great day for yard work, like raking leaves. We don’t have many but across the street there are tons of them. The city is scheduling “leaf Pickup” now as they will come by with their trucks and pick up the piles left at the curb. They ask that the leaves be placed at the curb in neat piles and with no other trash in the pile. I think they compost them and use them through the city for mulch. I’ not so sure about the “neat pile”. There is wind, children, dogs, etc.

I talked to son Jeff in Reno this morning. He said that they had rain, snow and terrible winds. My friend Emily said that at her place they had rain and wind. She is in California. So different from here where we are having warm weather with an occasional shower and a breeze. I am sure that will change in the next week or two.

Time for me to get busy and finish the housework I started yesterday prior to being on the phone with E-scripts and the doctor’s office. That was most of my day.

Quote of the day: ” Never ask old people how they are if you have anything else to do that day.” Joe Restivo.

Have a great Wednesday. Make it a wonderful, creative, imaginary and fun day.

Tuesday, November 1, 2022 Partly Sunny Slight breeze Nice 60 Degrees 10:50 a.m.

WOW! it is already November first. There are just 60 days left in 2022. The other 305 have certainly flew by quickly. I have to say, it has been a busy year with so many events. the news has certainly been busy , mostly with politics and the war and unrest all over the world. Now we are close to mid-term elections and after that maybe the political scene will quiet down for a bit.

We had 17 Trick Or Treaters last evening. I guess that was pretty good. One of the parents said that there weren’t many out so I assume most went to the Halloween party at the church on Gum Hollow. They were having a Halloween party for all….Kids and adults. That church is geared to young people…. and they seem to have quite a few in their congregation as the parking lot is always full on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings. That is where we vote.

The trick or treaters that showed up were so cute. One little girl was dressed as a princess, and another little boy was dressed in a green outfit. He was about 2 and having a problem with his bag. It is hard to walk and look in the candy bag at the same time. Both Tina and I enjoy seeing the kids all dressed in costumes and their parents not so much. All very nice.

Even though the TV was saying that people were taking their dogs trick or treating we saw no dogs doing so. We also didn’t have treats for dogs. that would be very scary as who knows what may be stuck in their treats? It is hard to take their sack away as they are very eager for treats. this is the first year I have heard of that.

Quote of the day: “Success is not so measured by how high you fly but how high you bounce.” My calendar.

Have a great rest of your day. Make it a high bouncing, thrilling, challenging and fun day.

MONDAY, OCTOBER 31, 2022 HAPPY HALLOWEEN TO ALL: GOBLINS & GHOSTS AND OTHER TREAT OR TREATERS!

Halloween, October 31, 2022 Cloudy Rainy Still 60 degrees 10:07 a.m.

How was your weekend? Here, the VOLS collage football team beat Kentucky badly. the score was 6 Kentucky to 44, the Vols. Half time was great but we only got to see it on the news yesterday. That would be worth going to the game in person verses watching it on TV. Next Saturday they play Georgia and that should be a good game as they are rivals. How many rivals can a team have?

I learned that on a Vols game Saturday not to go into Walmart as most everyone in there wears a orange shirt, sweater, blouse, jacket, etc. . this state, at least this part of the state is defiantly die heart fans. Most every place one goes there is orange and white clad people, babies, dogs, cars, etc. This includes the clerks in stores, waitresses or waiters in restaurants, even the fast food places have their employees in orange and white. In the stands, at the game, one man had his beard died orange with white checks.

Outside my window the rain is very gentle, almost just a sprinkle or as the weatherman said, drizzle. There is a very slight breeze so an occasional leaf drifts down to land softly on the pile below. The squirrel is out scrounging for whatever birdseed he can find. the birds are dining at the bird feeders. Even the Bluejay is out and about. I do believe they like this weather.

Have a wonderful Monday and a very Happy, safe, cheerful, spooky and fun Halloween.
