Friday, October 28, 2022 Sunny Chilly Breezy 52 Degrees 11:11 a.m.

Friday, the end of the work week. This week has gone by fast as I have been so busy catching up with all I let go while Jeff was here and then the wedding was four days away. So busy and so much fun. It has been a busy and interesting and fun month.

Today, in about an hour, Pamela will be here to play games. We haven’t played for a few weeks due to her getting married and all that goes with that plus all going on here. Today we will play Yahtzee and maybe Scrabble. It will be good to play a game again. This is her day off so is doing the name changing thing. That will take awhile I think. I don’t remember as I haven’t done it since March 1, 1958.

We didn’t get to vote yesterday as they closed the voting place at 5:00 p.m. So tomorrow morning we will go vote. I guess that the only time they stay open until 7:00 p.m. is on the actual voting day. At least in Nevada.

The weekend is to be mostly cloudy tomorrow and rainy on Sunday. We have some shopping to do tomorrow, and some projects here at the house to complete. Church on Sunday and a welcome home call to Jerry and Tammy. I am sure they will be busy resting up from the long flight home and getting ready to go back to work on Monday. The pups will be so glad to see them.

Have a great Friday and an adventurous, energy filled, social, safe, healthy, kind, and fun Weekend.

Thursday, October 27, 2022 Sunny Windy Chilly Beautiful 52 Degrees 10:43 a.m.

Another beautiful fall day here in Oak Ridge. I love watching the leaves drift down and settle on the grass, porches, driveways and where ever they land. I also like the different shapes that mix with each other. We have elm, oak, and many more trees that are changing from their summer attire to fall wardrobe, preparing for the winter bareness.

Our temperatures seem to range mostly between the 50’s and 60’s for the highs and 30′ to 40′ for the lows. We get some 70’s sprinkled in the mix occasionally. Today it will be in the 60’s. No rain until Sunday. That means I have to water the fall flowers that are out front. Not a bad thing.

After Tina gets home from work we are going to go vote. Early voting helps us to get it done without rushing because it is the last day and we have forgotten prior to the last minute. We are good at that. I will have dinner ready and we can eat when we get back from voting. We are having Hamburger Helper’s Crunchy Taco. We shall see how that one is. Most are good but some are not as good as others. We haven’t had this one so will see. We seldom have any of the box dinners but occasionally we see one that looks inviting. A salad will be added and ice cream for desert.

Have a great rest of your Thursday. Make it a thrifty, thoughtful, thankful and fun day.

Wednesday, October 26, 2022 Mostly Cloudy Windy Fall Colors 53 Degrees 11:15 a.m.

A beautiful Fall day here in East Tennessee. I love looking out the window and seeing all the pretty colors that come with fall in this part of the world. I’ve seen the blue jay eating at the bird feeder as well as some smaller birds that I am not sure what are. They are cute and fluffy so guess they are a type of winter birds. I even saw the squirrel a couple of days ago. I guess he isn’t quite ready to hibernate if that is what they do.

We had a cold front come through so today is much cooler then yesterday. The high yesterday was 78 degrees and today we will be lucky to hit 60. I rained some last night and I think we will be getting rain on and off all week. We need it so am happy for that. Sure glad the sweaters and jackets are close at hand. They will most defiantly be needed soon, I think . Of course, I always have a sweater close at hand.

Jerry and Tammy send pictures of a mongoose. They are an interesting animal and Hawaii has tons of them I am told. They kill snakes, all kinds of snakes. they were imported to Hawaii many many years ago to kill off the snakes as there were a lot of porpoise snakes there. Now they have no snakes. I don’t think that is a bad thing. The mongoose looks like a long rat with a long tail, or a prairie dog, or? I guess there are several types of mongoose. Ask google. Or Alexa. Both are very smart.):

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2022

Tuesday, October 25, 2022 Mostly sunny Slight breeze 65 Degrees 1:00p.m.

A good Tuesday so far. Am doing the laundry, am nearly finished with that chore. Have floors to do next. They sure get in need of a sweeping fast. There as so many leaves on the ground now that we bring them in on our shoes. It is so pretty to see all the trees dressed in their finery of golds, reds, greens, and yellows, while so many of their pretty leaves are softly floating in the air on their way to the ground. Soon people will be out raking all the leaves up and then the children and dogs will be playing in them. Another fun part of fall in East Tennessee.

Yesterday late afternoon there was an accident here in our village. Mayor Bill was stopped, waiting for the school bus to leave our street. The school bus backed up without paying attention to who was behind him or anything else. He just backed up. The 20 plus kids in the bus were telling him to stop that there was someone behind him. He ignored them and backed into Bill’s car. Even though Bill was stopped the impact tossed him out of the car onto the ground where he laid for 20 minutes.

The police were called and they came as did the assistant principal of the school and I am not sure who all else. The tow truck. Today, Bill is now driving a loaner car, his car has been towed off to the car doctor and time will tell if it is salvageable or not. Bill is feeling sad about his car and upset that the bus driver didn’t pay attention to where he was backing up, or to the kids. Physically he says he is alright. Now to see what the insurance company does. To be continued at a later blog.

The latest form the Honeymoon couple is that Hawaii doesn’t have Coke products, just Pepsi! Not even ice tea! Dottie said, “Fine!! I won’t be going to Hawaii!” I didn’t ask if they had coffee.

Quote of the day: “Getting a husband is like buying an old house. You don’t see it the way it is but the way it’s going to be when you get it remodeled.” My calendar

I doubt Tammy will be remodeling her husband as she seems to think he is perfect the way he is. After all, He is NEW!

I believe Pamela feels the same about her NEW husband. She seems to think he is the cat’s MEOW or Roxie’s Bow wow!

Have a great rest of your Tuesday. Make it a forward moving, cheerful, kind, productive and fun day.
