Wednesday, October 5, 2022 Sunny Leaves starting to turn colors 46 degrees 10:14 a.m.

Another beautiful Fall day. A bit on the chilly side this morning, was down to 39 degrees when I got up at 5:30 a.m. There is still a chill in the air. We haven’t turned the heat on as yet, but we just might have to if it gets any cooler. The mornings are defiantly on the cold side.

I love seeing the frost on the grass in the early morning. It soon goes away when the sun hits it, but is so pretty when the sun just barely shines on it making it look like diamonds covering the grass. Nature is so talented in decorating the landscape. The trees are looking so pretty with the starting of coloring their leaves with reds, golds, yellows and greens. How Awesome East Tennessee is. When God created the earth He blessed us with the beauty of this state that we reside in.

Jerry and Tammy came by last evening and visited for a bit. They both seemed comfortable sitting on our new sectional and we were so happy to have the comfortable place to sit and visit. It was fun having them. They were out doing errands and stopped by with yummy treats of blizzards from Dairy Queen. So sweet. They were yummy for the tummy and slipped past the lips to the hips with no problem.

Today I hope to accomplish a bit of closet cleaning and straightening. We have the traditional Fiber McGee’s closet that collects everything and then is all of a sudden unruly, over crowded and we are unable to find things. The mystery closet. I will play detective today and see if I can solve the mystery of what lies hidden in it.

Have a great Hump Day. Make it a day of musical joy, cheerful accomplishments and loads of fun.

Tuesday, October 4, 2022 Sunny Breezy Few Fluffy Clouds 62 degrees 1:10p.m.

I am a bit late today. I have had a busy morning with rearranging my desk corner. The floor slopes in this corner so had to get something that I could keep steady and on an even keel. I do believe I have solved the problem and have a working desk area.

The 15 bean soup is good. Both Tina and I enjoyed it immensely and will keep a package of 15 bean soup in the pantry. The seasoning packet is included in the package. You are required to add chopped onion, finely minced garlic, chili powder (optional), a can of chopped stewed tomatoes (or just a can of chopped tomatoes), and any meat that you wish. I used ham hocks. (No, Tina didn’t eat any of the meat off the ham hocks as they are located to close to the pig’s feet). You can use broth in place of water if you prefer. I didn’t have the tomatoes so didn’t use them or the chili powder. It was a perfectly healthy and inexpensive meal.

That is about all the excitement around here so far today. I have a few chores to finish up and dinner to heat up and that is about it. Yes, it is leftovers for dinner. We will have Texas Toast to go with the beans this evening.

Have a great rest of you Tuesday. Make it a thoughtful, considerate, kind, friendly and fun day.

THE PARTRIDGE LOOKING FOR THE PEAR TREE

Monday. October 3, 2022 Cloudy Calm Nice 59 degrees 10:21 a.m.

A great weekend through a very busy one. Our home is now decorated for fall with a bit of Halloween thrown in the mix. Our decorations are mostly indoors as doing the outdoor one takes a bit more thought and stuff. We do have the Welcome Fall sign out and that is so nice. And the big orange pumpkin is sitting out there welcoming anyone who comes to the door. I need to find the light that goes in it. Another treasure hunt.

This morning I put 15 bean soup in the crock pot. I am sure there will be lots to be frozen and shared. The package directions said it makes 16 servings. I like things that I can freeze and have for another meal down the road. Now that I am doing a lot of the cooking I will be trying new recipes and praying that Miss Tina will enjoy them. She is a picky eater. Her favorite foods are Tacos, Enchiladas, Nacho’s and Chips/with Queso, Pizza, Chili, Wings and Spaghetti. Salads are O.K but she prefers Cesar Salads. we shall see how she likes the 15 bean soup.

I will spend today looking for the candles that are safely put away. I think they are in the closet in the living room. That will be a challenge to go through.

A WELL READ CAT

Friday, September 20, 2022 Sunny Breezy Rain due tonight 51 degrees 9:07 a.m.

The sectional arrived around 9:15 yesterday. the rest of the day was spent getting the room back in order and workable. It really looks quite nice and is now comfortable. I worked hard yesterday so am going to take it a little easy today.

I am going shopping for a dress to wear to Jerry and Tammy’s wedding. Dottie is coming over to pick me up and off the the “mall” we shall go. I am planning on a fun few hours dress shopping, lunch and just enjoying visiting with Dottie.

Tina is looking forward to her first weekend off. She ha so much she plans on doing that I think she will need a month of weekends, but I know that maybe a tenth of it will get accomplished. I think the fall decorating will get done. The rest will wait for awhile. I know she will make some bread.

Have to get ready to go as Dottie will be here shortly. I want to get the breakfast dishes done and make sure the cats have dry cat food in their dispenser. Milo is bugging me so I think that might be his problem.

Have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend. Make both spectacular, adventurous, interesting, kind, and fun.
